(FADE-IN: Lady Veronica is shown walking after Michael Manson. Manson is with a man in a referee shirt but his back is to the camera)
LADY VERONICA: "Michael Manson, what is going on here and who is this guy in the referee shirt?"
(Manson turns around as well as the man in the referee shirt with him, who turns out to be Manson's old friend, Bueno Excellente, the 300lb Mexican gigolo. Excellente is carrying a bottle of what is assumed to be tequila)
MICHAEL MANSON: "Lady Veronica, you know what is going on here. Some dastardly villian drugged King Krusher and he will be unable to referee which upsets me since I requested his presence in my match tonight. So therefore, I have found a suitable replacement for him in Bueno Excellente. Malec needs to look no further."
BUENO EXCELLENTE: "Si......<belch>"
LADY V: <with a digusted look on her face> "You have got to be kidding me!"
M.M.: "Nope. Come on, Bueno"
(Manson turns and walks off with Bueno following behind. CUT-TO: Matt Faley is shown standing at mid-ring)
MATT FALEY: "Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready for the MAIN EVENT!! ARE YOU READY!!?? <crowd pops> This match is to determine the first ever Great Lakes Heavyweight Champion! First, coming to the ring," (CUE-UP: "The Day the World Went Away" by Nine Inch Nails) "From Death Valley, California, weighing in at 238lbs., GOLEM!!"
(The crowd mostly cheers as Golem comes out, and he walks briskly to the ring and seems to be extremely focused)
M.F.: "And his opponent," (CUE-UP: "Mechanical Animals" by Marilyn Manson) "From right here in Chicago, Illinois, weighing in at 230lbs., MICHAEL MANSON!!"
(The crowd erupts in boos for Manson, no hometown pop here. Manson walks calmly to the ring as Excellente staggers behind him. Manson assists Excellente's large frame into the ring and places the bottle on the apron. Excellente is almost exploding out of his ref shirt, which is about three sizes too small. Golem asks Faley what this is all about and Faley is clueless. Michael Manson takes the mic from Faley)
M.M.: "Golem, worry not my furry friend, I have found a more than acceptable person to referee our match tonight, and he will call it right down the middle. Bueno Excellente has sworn to me that he will do his job professioanlly."
(Manson holds the mic in front of Excellente)
B.E.: "Si......<belch>"
(Manson hands the mic back to Faley who looks as confused as anybody. Just then GLCW President Scott Malec emerges from the curtain as the crowd cheers)
SCOTT MALEC: "OK, Manson, play time is over! Get that fat illegal alien out of here before I call the INS! Since King Krusher was incapacitated tonight...and I think we all know by whom...I had to find a replacement ref. And it certainly isn't going to be that slug Bueno Excellente! Your referee for this match will be....MAELSTROM!!"
(CUE-UP: "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. The crowd gives a monstrous pop as Maelstrom walks out wearing black jeans, and his own referee shirt with no sleeves. Maelstrom strides to the ring as Manson can be seen in the ring looking to be beside himself. Maelstrom climbs into the ring and immediately gets in the face of Bueno Excellente, who does not hesitate to roll out of the ring, jiggling fat and all. Maelstrom then eyes Manson sharply, as Manson protests to anyone within ear shot)
TONY ROSS: "It looks like Manson isn't going to get his way tonight! Maelstrom has been named special referee for the match tonight and Manson does not like this one bit! He wanted his good friend Bueno Excellente to be the referee tonight but that's not going to happen!"
RICK WISEMAN: "If Excellente is even allowed to work in this country is a different story! And look at Maelstrom, he wants to pat down Manson to check for weapons after last week's debacle!"
T.R.: "Manson holds his arms up and Maelstrom pats him down, and checks the boots for weapons and he seems to be clean, and then Manson pats Maelstrom down as he turned around!! Maelstrom turns and shoves Manson back and yells at him not to touch him! Manson is just asking for it!"
R.W.: "I can't imagine that Maelstrom can keep his cool and call this match right down the middle. He made it clear early on that Manson is one of his targets in GLCW!"
T.R.: "Maelstrom pats Golem down just to be fair, and Golem used a weapon last week to win his match with Jobber, but that was because Jobber brought that wrench into the ring! OK, Maelstrom calls for the bell and here we go! This is for the gold, folks! The winner gets the Great Lakes Heavyweight Title! Both men circle each other as Manson keeps making comments to Maelstrom, and Maelstrom tells him to shut up and wrestle! Collar and elbow tie up leads to a Golem side headlock! Golem applies the pressure as Manson tries to power out of it but no dice! Golem goes down to his knees to get more leverage but Manson slips out and grabs Golem in an chickenwing! Golem powers out of that into his own chickenwing but Manson elbows him in the face and hip tosses him! The crowd applauds that sequence!"
R.W.: "I said this before, Golem and Manson both have all the technical ability in the world! Whether or not they use it is a different story!"
T.R.: "Manson laughs at Golem and Golem is not happy with that as he charges in with a knee! He backs Manson into the ropes and whips him in! Reversal! Golem comes off and Manson leapfrogs him! Golem rebounds and hits a flying cross body!! 1....2....No!! Manson escapes and gets right to his feet only to get viciously chopped by Golem! Twice! Three times!!"
R.W.: "You can hear those chops reverberating throughout the UIC Pavillion and the fans respond!"
T.R.: "Manson's chest is already becoming red as Golem punches him and hits a release Northern Lights suplex! Golem runs over and hits a running elbow drop! Golem pulls Manson up and hits a full nelson face slam and covers!! 1...2...No! Manson kicks out again!"
R.W.: "I'm sure we're going to see an amazing arsenal of moves here as both men are going to have to pull out all the stops here!"
T.R.: "Golem is choking Manson now and Maelstrom fairly tells Golem to lay off! Golem looks a bit surprised that Maelstrom would actually want him to stop choking Manson! Golem picks Manson up and hooks him for a suplex! No! Manson blocks and reverses! Golem comes down hard and Manson bought himself a few moments to recover! Manson gets to his feet and kicks Golem in the head a few times before dragging him to his feet and goes for a powerbomb but Golem blocks and flips Manson backwards, but Manson holds on and sunset flips him!! 1...2...No! Golem escapes and quickly gets to his feet and walks into a Manson clothesline!! Manson picks him up quickly and then nails the powerbomb this time!! 1....2....No!!"
R.W.: "These guys are expending a lot of energy with the back and forth action here! The crowd is really getting into this battle! Manson claims that he doesn't care about the title but you know in the back of his head he wants to be numero uno in GLCW, and Golem feels the same way!"
T.R.: "Manson pulls Golem up in a sleeperhold, and then drops him down for the sleeper slam! Manson rolls him over and goes for the Tourniquet but Golem wriggles free and kicks at Manson to keep him away! Golem is in the ropes and Maelstrom orders Manson to get back! Manson keeps trying to get at Golem but Maelstrom finally shoves him away!!"
R.W.: "It's only a matter of time before these two get physical here, Tony!"
T.R.: "The crowd is at a fever pitch here in Chicago as Golem comes out of the corner and Manson charges him but Golem gets out of the way and Manson runs into Maelstrom!! I think that was on purpose!"
R.W.: "It looks like Manson had time to stop himself and now Maelstrom is beet-red with anger but he knows he needs to control himself and call the match! Maelstrom is in Manson's face about running into him!"
T.R.: "Golem sneaks up behind and rolls Manson up!! 1.....2....No!! Good Lord he almost had him as everyone in the Pavillion was on their feet! Maelstrom is telling Golem that he did not count three and Golem is stunned! Manson is up and Golem comes at him and gets kicked in the ribs! Manson hits a straight jacket suplex! Now he rolls out of the ring! What is he doing! He grabs a chair and comes into the ring with it! Maelstrom is yelling at him to drop it but he won't! He's about to nail Golem with it! Golem is up and he rushes Manson! Manson tosses the chair to Maelstrom and catches Golem's arm and drops him down into the Tourniquet Crossface!!"
R.W.: "He's got Golem locked in but Golem is close to the ropes and he might be able to make it!"
T.R.: "Maelstrom ditches the chair and he goes to check on Golem, who is in serious trouble here but he has a chance to make the ropes! Golem reaches....reaches....reaches....he's got it!! He's able to make the ropes with a herculean effort! Manson won't let go!! Maelstrom demands that Manson lets go and he refuses! Finally Maelstrom pulls him off! Manson is up and in Maelstrom's face and neither man is budging!"
R.W.: "Maelstrom is using every fiber of his being to avoid hitting Manson! The crowd wants him to clobber Manson!"
T.R.: "Manson turns back to Golem and stomps on the back of his neck a few times! Now Manson is trying to take the turnbuckle covering off! What is he trying to do now! Manson is really getting desperate here! He has the covering off and now he's trying to suffocate Golem with it! Maelstrom is threatening to DQ Manson if he does not get rid of that turnbuckle covering! Maelstrom grabs it from him and goes to put it back on the turnbuckle!"
R.W.: "And Manson uses that opportunity to choke Golem between the ropes! He has Golem's head tied up between them! That's got to be a tight fit!"
T.R.: "Manson is choking the life from Golem as Maelstrom gets done tying the covering back on and Manson lets off! Manson kicks him and drags him to his feet!"
R.W.: "Hold everything!! Here comes King Krusher!!"
T.R.: "K.K. is coming to ringside and it appears that he is still groggy but OK, and he has a referee shirt on! It looks like he wants to take over here! Manson stares out at KK and begins to yell at him! Golem gets to his feet behind Manson and hooks him!! Tiger suplex into a bridge!! K.K. slides into the ring!! Both men's shoulders are down as KK and Maelstrom count them both for the three count!! Who pinned who and who is the proper referee here!!"
R.W.: "Both men's shoulders were down and King Krusher counted Golem's shoulders down and Maelstrom counted Manson's shoulders down! Golem thinks he won here as KK and Maelstrom argue about it!"
T.R.: "Well Scott Malec made the official referee Maelstrom so I would assume that since he counted Manson out, Golem is the winner! Golem wants an answer now! K.K. and Maelstrom are still arguing as Golem waits for the official decision! The bell still has not rung yet! Manson is back on his feet and he grabs Golem from behind and hits him with a Dragon Suplex from behind!! He absolutely nailed Golem with that move!! Maelstrom will not move in to make the count!! He does not want to give Manson the victory so K.K. is forced to count!! 1......2.....3!! K.K. calls for the bell and it looks like this match is going to go to Michael Manson now!"
R.W.: "I am really confused here! Why would K.K. count Manson out if he believes that Manson is the man who drugged him?"
T.R.: "Well, the crowd does not like this one bit as the garbage begins to fill the ring and King Krusher looks like he just killed his mother! Krusher in my opinion was just being fair because someone had to make the count! Since both men's shoulders were down, that pretty much negates a pinfall in my book! Manson just had the presence of mind to take advantage of the confusion! King Krusher reluctantly retrieves the Great Lakes Heavyweight Title belt and brings it into the ring! It looks like indeed that Michael Manson is the first Great Lakes Champion! Krusher hands it over to Manson with a look of pure disgust on his face as it is obvious that he does not enjoy doing this!"
MATT FALEY: "Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of this match and your NEW Great Lakes Heavyweight Champion, MICHAEL MANSON!!"
(The crowd boos even louder as more garbage hits the ring)
R.W.: "I'll give King Krusher credit for being a fair man, but was K.K. the real referee in this match or does his commissionership override Maelstrom's refereeing? I'm still confused!"
T.R.: "Ohhhhh!!!! Manson just clobbered Maelstrom in the face with the title belt!! And Manson rolls out of the ring quickly and walks backwards toward the locker room, shouting threats at both Golem and King Krusher! What a cheap shot by Manson!! Manson disappears behind the curtain as Krusher checks on Maelstrom and Golem is yelling at K.K. for an explanantion! We have total chaos here folks! But we are out of time! Be sure to tune in next week to Riptide where we can try to sort out this mess! But until then, Michael Manson is the first Great Lakes Champion!
