Match of the Night:
Noble / Holiday and all the six man offering were great.

Segment of the Night:
The Curtis Clutch segment that set up the seg I helped write where Penn barges into Ed's office. Both of those were as solid as it gets. Penn is a fantastic foil for Eugene.

Surprise / Holy Shit Moment of the Night:
HOSS taking down Dusty and Dane, epic booking.

Babyface of the Night:
Eugene, that Challenge seg w/ Penn was priceless.

Heel of the Night:
HOSS.

MVP of the Night (IC):
I'll go with Frank Holiday simply because A. I'm a huge mark for anything Ken does and B. all the build for this weeks match was well written and made me laugh.

Best Line of the Night:
It's funny, James Justin and I wrote the opener together but it's crazy the shit you miss.

[Griffith’s brow raises with curiosity and Dane notices it from the corner of his eye. White notices it too, so he adds an extra layer of cheese on this manipulative, bullshit pizza he’s concocting.]

What Ruled?
Dane being an active wrestler again, talk about a great character to have available for angles again.

What Sucked?
Matches were all a little meh/short/uneventful for the most part I think? But that's okay, I'm a sports entertainment / segment kind of guy, more emphasis on that rather than forty page in ring epics is fine by me honestly. DEF TV needs to be more segment focused anyway.

Whatever Else You Can Think Of:
Tons of fun this week getting Ed and co. involved and sounding like a unit again. Tons of fun writing with James, Justin, Jon, Lindz, etc. Can't wait for the next card.

Read Between The Lines
Justin + James + Evan (I’m assuming Evan wrote White here because White came across like Evan wrote him) = money. Seriously, I can’t imagine a better trio to work an angle at the top of the card. There wasn’t the ‘Holy Shit’ factor that last week’s opener had, but weren’t nothing gonna top that.

Obviously thought the night is young.

The Rundown
Job done.

Team VIAGRA vs. The PAC
Good opener, and I enjoyed HOSS on commentary, but I was expecting a bit more jostling for the title Trios title shot from all the teams rather than handing it to a debuting team on the first show after the massive clusterfuck segment last week.

Thanks Doc, You Ever Serve Time?
Jed Whitewood instantly reminds me of Dagron Senoj. Definitely glad to see him still around after the showing last week, which now tells me it was probably by design. Definitely feeling better about him after this segment than I did after the last show.

Mushigihara vs. Mikey ‘The Business’ Giuliano
See, this is what Mushi should have been doing all along. Squashing jobbers into oblivion. I’m finally starting to take him seriously since the breakup of the Philosopher Kings, and I must say I’m enjoying it.

Chance Meetings About Zucchinis
Or courgettes as they’re actually called.

I’d like to know the train of thought going on in Jake’s head to come up with those names one after another.

I’m finding it difficult to get a handle on CDC right now. One minute they look like they’re set up to be faces, then they feel like heels, and they definitely felt like the heels in this segment, despite everything I remember from their feud with the Street Cutters telling me otherwise.

A Gracious Offer
Mine.

Crimson Dragon Clan vs. The Skybreakers
Wait, didn’t The Skybreakers not have a name 5 minutes ago?

Ok, so CDC must have turned if they’re getting booed in the match. Did I miss their obvious turn somewhere or was it done quietly?

Good to see the Sons Of The Soil getting out there, but their involvement felt too abrupt for the difference that it made. Also, CDC didn’t get the win they wanted? Are they not heels now?

Seriously, I’m so confused by the Crimson Dragon Clan after tonight’s segment and match.

Advanced Scouting
Ok, I’ll admit the turning a new leaf thing wasn’t where I wanted Pyre to go, but I didn’t even consider for a moment that it would lead to Pyre being a overt sneak rather than a covert one. Good work.

An Offer You Can’t Refuse
I don’t remember writing this…

This would be more exciting had Troy not taken the fall in the trios match just moments earlier, outside interference or not.

FDJ Vs. Benny Torrez
I’m not sure why Natas wasn’t featured. I mean, he was mentioned, so surely there must be a reason for it?

No Excuses
Mine.

A Noble Holiday
Noble’s getting himself all over the place, which is good for a new guy, but I’m not the biggest fan of the character. I think it’s because alcohol is such an easy vice to use that he feels a little clichéd right now. Hopefully that’ll change as I get to know ins and outs of the character, but right now… I’m a bit meh on him.

These Foolish Games
Last week pinkie swears, this week staring contests? DEFIANCE really is like a playground.

BDH really are good for a laugh, and working with them is such a pleasure. It’s gonna be a shame when our story ends.

David Noble vs. Frank Holiday
Good match. Noble is getting put over hard even in losses, and by people that could (and should) legitimately be working above where they are on the cards. Hopefully the effort that’s already gone into getting Noble to stand out is worth it in the end.

Return of the Man With Frozen Vegetables On His Never You Mind
Romero’s coming back! Hopefully he comes back pull of piss and vinegar. Well, he’s definitely full of piss what with his dick not working.

Number One Contender, Brah
Holiday on top form as always. I’d love to think that some shit is gonna go down after that slip of the tongue, but there’s been so much of both Pyre and Holiday on this show already that I can’t help but not want it this week.

Stockton Pyre vs. Curtis Penn
Definitely think that Rich should have gone straight for Pyre and ignored Penn. I really don’t get the thinking behind Penn getting taken out and then Pyre taking a beating as well. I don’t think Rich is smart enough to have intentionally cost Pyre the match, so it just doesn’t make sense to me.

The Frustrations of Sam Turner Jr.
NOW Sam has a greivance. I don’t get Nicky being so mennacing after Jane’s pretty much guaranteed Sam would pay them a visit, but whatever. It’s great to see some development of Sam. He’s been in need of it for a long time.

Gimme Dem Shades, Boah
Fantastic. It’s good to see Jonny back after the week off, and he’s back in a big way. The BOAHHHHAAH stuff was highly amusing.

Time Check
This was late being completed, but it did what it needed to do. What we in the future need to do is get stuff like this done before deadline.

Tony Di Luca vs. Tyler Rayne
Mine (with edits from Lindz) and the 2nd version that I wroted.

Return The Airship Pirate
BELL CLAPS BELL CLAPSBELLCLAPSBELLSCPAL! Totally excited for the return of Keyes.

Curtis Clutch Challenge #5
Mine and Jon’s. Jon gave it the bones, I fleshed it out.

The Walker Clan vs Rick Mitchum/Typheni/Etienne LaMorte
Good to see the Aussies back from walkabout.

Shadow Time’s Over
See my comments when it comes to ‘Time Check’.

Curtis Penn meets the Bo$$ or A door gets kicked in.
It’s absolutely fantastic having Evan back. He writes White so perfectly. And this did everything it had to.

Seriously, Eugene/Penn is something I’ve wanted to do for so long. Now that we’re doing it I just hope we do it justice.

Eric Dane and Dusty Griffith vs. Team HOSS
Great main event. Classic booking of the finish right down to the stare down to close the show.

An expected win for HOSS, but a big moment for Angel Trinidad. I know Seth will capitalise on it. He had done with everything he’s been involved with so far.

Read Between the Lines
A great start to the show, with White still trying to put the tension between Dane and Dusty. I enjoy it because I think it has the potential to go in a few different directions and as of now, I don’t know where that could really go. I have a feeling we might see Dusty side with White when it is all said and done and really ostracize Dane.

The Rundown
Okay, this made me laugh out loud - "And that’s going to be late in the show actually, in the spot where there were like 20 segs in a row on the runsheet I mean to get the fans warmed up for the main event.”

Team VIAGRA vs. The PAC
Nice debut match for VIAGRA. Ford’s writing takes me back a few years to warm, happy thoughts. Love reading what he puts up because even though it is completely insane at time, it is so friggin’ good. Match between VIAGRA + HOSS in the future? I’m in. This should be a good one and I think the first team to give HOSS a running.

Thanks Doc, you ever serve time?
Mr. Handy? Well then! Overall, a nice, funny, short segment.

Mushigihara vs. Mikey ‘The Business’ Giuliano
Nice squash match here! Mushi is definitely being built up as a monster and doing it in impressive manner. Should be interesting to see how far this goes, in terms of a monster running roughshod over people.

Change Meeting About Zucchini
The zucchini thing definitely made me laugh. Tyrone Walker has probably become one of my favorite characters to read in the few short weeks that I’ve been here. Plus, we’ve a good set up for the match between CDC and Walker/Donovan/Matthews, which has all of the makings of being a very formidable team from what I’ve seen.

A Gracious Offer
I loved the bit of Di Luca stating that he ‘saved’ Wade’s career. I love it when heels say such absurd things. I have a feeling that out of the two that would step up to Di Luca and take the match, it would probably be Rayne, which would definitely be a fun match. The feud between BDH + LBC has been so much fun to see unfold.

Crimson Dragon Slayers vs. The Skybreakers
Great action throughout the entire match. I love some of these trios matches because you get so much different action and get to see so many players involved in a short timeframe. CDC picked up a HUGE victory here, in my opinion, even if it was due to some interference. Maybe we will see a 3 on 3 on 3 match? That would be crazy.

Advanced Scouting
Had a blast doing this with Brian.

An Offer You Can’t Refuse
I like the road that Ryan is taking here. Also, I loved this line: "You fancy yourself a slayer of giants. I shop at the big and tall store.” Matthews/Ryan should be a good one.

Frank Dylan James vs. Benny Torez
Short match, but got the point across. I imagine with having to change the Natas match around, this one had to be put together fast and they did just that in the right way.

No Excuses
Nice build between Eugene/Penn with it clearly leading to something coming up later on in the show.

A Noble Holiday
And definitely had a blast working on this one with Ken!

These Foolish Games
Called it! Had some great laughs here (Battleship?!?! Oh, and Rayne rubbing the orange remnants over Lance’s face taking the cake). Ryan + Di Luca? Oof. This is going to be some fun.

David Noble vs. Frank Holiday
Having fun getting back into the groove of match writing and Ken was the one who really made this match sing!

Return of the Man with Frozen Vegetables on his Never You Mind
ROMERO! Back next week? Alright then, let’s see if anyone tests out this theory that his penis is 110%.

Number One Contender, Brah
I thought this interview was top notch. Ken really brought it in this interview and I thought it was well done all around.

Stockton Pyre vs. Curtis Penn
Obviously tied into what just happened, which dovetailed perfectly. This is going to keep things pumped between Pyre/Holiday, as if they weren’t already before.

The Frustrations of Sam Turner Jr.
A nice turn from Turner with some legitimate gripes. I think Sam’s point got across clearly here. White is definitely alienating some people here and it will be interesting to see how the lines are redrawn when it is all said and done.

Gimme Dem Shades, Boah
Ha! I chuckled at the “YOU TOUCH MAH SHAYDES!” line. Lots happening here and it is alllllll good.

Time Check
Hm… interesting on the Troy front. Wonder what is going to happen here.

Impromptu Match: SoHer Title
And sure enough, something wasn’t right! Oof, that was brutal with Troy slamming into the wall like that. The stakes between BDH + LBC just keep getting higher and higher, and Rayne is going to be on a RAMPAGE.

Return the Airship Pirate
Nice return there by Keyes and going for revenge!

Curtis Clutch Challenge #5
The clutch was beaten? Well, that is going to take things to the next level!

Walker Clan vs. Mitchum/Typheni/LaMorte
Nice quick match here. Walker Clan picks up the victory. Good stuff.

Shadow Time’s Over
A wounded Troy and Elliott? Yeah, Rayne is going to be going crazy (Rayne style) on LBC next show. Can’t wait!

Curtis Penn Meets the Bo$$ or A Door Gets Kicked In
Penn/Dewey. Let’s do it. White is slowly (or quickly) getting to the point it appears where he will own just about every title in DEFIANCE.

Eric Dane and Dusty Griffith vs. Team HOSS
Didn’t see Team HOSS getting the victory here. Huge victory and continues to put the tension between Dane + Griffith.

Great show overall. Can’t wait to see what happens next show!

This was a great follow up from the last show. White twisting the screws just right it seems, This is an interesting situation that I am intrested in.

The Rundown

Again adding some realism and hyping things where they need to be.

Team VIAGRA vs. The PAC

I hate the PAC, mostly because one of these guys took the looks of one of my guys. Not the CDC, but my team of the Rebel Express, which I would play but to many rednecks in the fed.

I do like Team HOSS on announcing. And look forward to the build up with Team VIAGRA,

I LOVE the fact that this is DDK’s team, and he does what Angus does for Team HOSS. it is an interesting dynamic

Thanks Doc, You Ever Serve Time?

I almost choked my drink reading this, Good bounce back, glad he is still around. I think he would be a good person to be STJ’s sidekick.

Mushigihara vs. Mikey ‘The Business’ Giuliano
I Still like MUSHI, to be honest i like Mushi better than I like Troy Matthews.

Chance Meetings About Zucchinis

To clear up some confusion. The CDC are Faces, But not your typical one. They do have their dark side to them. I wanted to take this as a we are looking forward to the match, but then I Got the idea of having some interaction between Saori and Songo, Having grown up watching females wrestle in Japan, and likely seeing Saori.. lets just say i wanted to plant some seeds there.

A Gracious Offer

Ive seen the Italian Mafia types before., but these are very well done. they are great bad guys. And i love this feud.

And Rikishi hit Wade! He did it for the Club!

Crimson Dragon Clan vs. The Skybreakers

Yeah. This is probably more of an oversight here. Just pretend it says Walker / Donovan/ Matthews

Ok, so CDC must have turned if they’re getting booed in the match. Did I miss their obvious turn somewhere or was it done quietly?

[Perhaps its not a heel turn, 2 face teams, but Walker / Donovan/Matthews are tried and true Defiance , Way over, So The crowd Boos them. This is probably the spot.

[DDK is cut off as Jake Donovan goes for a diving attack on Crimson Star, only to be blindsided by Ryushin Zongetsu with a running forearm to the head, causing Donovan to crash to the neutral corners turnbuckles.]

BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Angus:

Now that is one way to play smear the [Kevin] [Kevin]!!!

Just as stated, Fans love Jake. and for Ryushin , Who is not your baby face face, to do that the fans did not like. They let him know it.

Good to see the Sons Of The Soil getting out there, but their involvement felt too abrupt for the difference that it made.

I was worried that the match was going to long for a regular TV match. I had written a bit more, I don't know what happened to it.

But I plan on useing what happened to further develop my team. So points are taken into my brain, don't you worry.

Advanced Scouting

Nobel is kinda interesting to me. I thought he was a bad guy, but to me he seems like he is face. Im confused, but i do like him.

An Offer You Can’t Refuse

This would be more exciting had Troy not taken the fall in the trios match just moments earlier, outside interference or not. [I would have to agree, Had I known about this Seg, I would of gladly put Troy over in our match,]

FDJ Vs. Benny Torrez

Squish match is squishy…. But it is interesting to see frank in this and then later. He also overcomes the trio of HMMS who i thought got released…. guess White hired them back.

For anyone who doesn't know their DEF history as well as Jeff does, LOL and this lead to a BIGGER LOL later
LMAO

No Excuses

Mine.

A Noble Holiday

I'm digging Nobel, But he is definitely coming off as a face, The Guy in school that stands up for the ones being bullied, but at the same time is a loner.

These Foolish Games

another great seg from the BDH crew… Poor lance!

David Noble vs. Frank Holiday

Good match. Nobel getting his moment even in the loss he still comes out looking good.

Return of the Man With Frozen Vegetables On His Never You Mind

And he wins the award again. I know a few things i can not say, or the Monkeys in the walls will kill me. It is nice to see a new character blooms out of Sean. I'm loving this one.

Number One Contender, Brah

So Holliday is a face thats acting a bit heelish, This was a great segment using the space in the WRESTLEPLEX! I'm loving his stuntman references

Stockton Pyre vs. Curtis Penn

I'm in agreement, I think Rich should've passed Peen buy and sent Angus into a confused tirade.

The Frustrations of Sam Turner Jr.

While i like it, I in fan mode, hate to see what's coming , but i get it and understand it.

Gimme Dem Shades, Boah

One of my fave character’s is on TV YES! Love me some Booya!

Time Check

Another good segment doing its job and leading to...

Tony Di Luca vs. Tyler Rayne

OUCH< As a husband, I expect to see Rayne going nuts on the next show.

Return The Airship Pirate

First a fight with FDJ? And then blindsided by Henry Keays. Im even more excited that the Poser i made will still get its useage.

Curtis Clutch Challenge #5

Very cool segment, This will be a great feud.

The Walker Clan vs Rick Mitchum/Typheni/Etienne LaMorte

I think someone should take over for the Clan there. its a team that the chance to be a pretty cool team.

Shadow Time’s Over

Yep Next weeks going to be very bad for the bad guys.

Curtis Penn meets the Bo$$ or A door gets kicked in.

And the dog has been set loose , and going after Dewey. This is going to be a really great feud.

Eric Dane and Dusty Griffith vs. Team HOSS
Interesting ending, Did not expect Team Hoss to win. Now keeling going to gloat more.

Not picking on you, I just don't remember how to multi-quote for multiple users on this board....

But...

It was an "earlier in the day" segment, so it didn't actually happen after Troy took the fall.

It doesn't really hurt the match or this segment because of this.

Ideally, I could have been more pro-active in campaigning to get this segment put before that match and have Ryan come out at the end to smirk or something and play off of this segment. The ordering of segments and matches was a little wacky though, and I'm not sure it was even finalized in the compiler until very late. I'll put any awkwardness on me for it not being ideal. I'm not as up on what Rob is doing as Rob is, obviously. That's not his fault. I could have asked.

But I still think it got across what I wanted out of it for Dan Ryan's story. It just didn't tie into what Troy Matthews was doing as well as it could have.

Ok, I reread the segment and I might have been misread something the first time round. I thought Dan Ryan was wanting to take on 'The best of the best', I might have got that from the "In fact, I need to you to be as good as you can possibly be" line.

On a second read it's quite clear that that isn't the case, instead Dan in just drawing comparisons, and is out to prove that Troy's win during the MoW tournament was nothing more than a fluke.

I'll agree it's not as big a deal as I might have made it seem, but still, I believe the point stands that if someone's supposed to stand a chance against a world title contender then they shouldn't be taking the fall in the debut of their new trios team, whether it happens after the seg or before it.

Ah, well yes, that's true.

But truthfully, if anything that's still fine, because Ryan will look at Matthews' loss as Matthews disappointing him by going out and losing after their 'talk", and he'll take that disappointment out on him perhaps in the ring, then move on to someone else to prove he deserves his shot.

I can always make lemonade out of lemons. :)

So either way, big picture, it works for me.

Ohh I was just replying, I understand it was earlier in the day, But if Rob would of asked I would of took the dive, or something, to help boost him up. But I'm sure it will be a great match and have a good story. Also when in doubt... blame Jeff!

Match of the Night:
David Noble v. Frank Holiday. This was a good, meaty match with lots of ups and downs. And I think it made both characters shine regardless of the fact that Noble took the loss. I especially liked the post-match confrontation, as it sets a good tone for David Noble and his stubborn-assedness in the future. I will also give some much-deserved props to the "A Noble Holiday" and "Number One Contender, Brah", as those were amongst my favorites of the card.

Segment of the Night:
These Foolish Games. First of all, it was hard (HEH HEH HEH) to not automatically give this to Romero Antiguas based on my own principles and completely obvious bias. It was even more difficult to say "BZZZZZRT" to Antiguas and give it to Jonny Booya out of even further principle and bias. But motherfuck, Romero and Jonny didn't stick a Cheeto finger in an interviewer's mouth, so the choice was obvious here. And yes, that was what sold me: the underhanded tactics of Tyler Rayne in what will go down as one of the most controversial staring contests since the 1975 Blink-Off between West Germany and the USA. Also, every title shot should be determined by a board game, IMO. I am more of a Sorry! guy, but diff'rent strokes.

Surprise of the Night:
I was really counting on the LBC to hold up their end of the bargain and actually give Rayne a title shot. I am dumb and easily surprised, though. So I guess take that for what it's worth.

Holy Shit Moment of the Night:
The HUGE reveal on the dirt RE: Rich Mahogany. I couldn't resist another shitty pun in this feedback. Whoops, there's another one. *cocks shotgun, aims toward own head*

Babyface of the Night:
Eugene Dewey. His earlier promo was short and crisp, and did a great job of harkening to the fact that he's an instantly likable hero. He then goes on to reinforce the hell out of it later in the card.

Heel of the Night:
Curtis Penn. It's a true testament to how good the mind is behind the writing when you want a fictional character to die via an elephant burying him alive in shit. This guy sucks, which in turn rules. The ultimate paradox, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. *smokes weed*

MVP of the Night (IC):
Let's go Dewey here, as well. The money shower was a great moment, made even better by the fact that he got one over on Penn.

Best Line of the Night:
I'm breaking the rules, hire a lawyer and sue me.

Angus:
You know what I love about this stage, Keebs?

DDK:
It’s an idea that’s actually older than you?

Angus:
Difficulty standing. That’s a red flag. Somebody call his sponsor.

DDK:
What’s this?

Angus:
Looks like they’re headed to Goldberg’s locker room.

DDK:
Who?

Angus:
Does he not exist in our world?

DDK:
Don’t think so.

Angus:
Oh, well then, nevermind.

DDK:
What the hell is this!?

Angus:
Is this… is this being filmed with a GoPro?

What Ruled?
- Antiguas' dick being at 110%. As my giggle periscope has never been at more than 83.4%, I find this fascinating.
- I must have missed the fucking T-bone hat last card because I damn sure would have mentioned it. Also, FDJ/Booya is now my early ticket for feud of the year, unless it's going to be Booya/Keyes. Two loud, unintelligible lugs makes for entertainment.
- Big nod to continuity of Angus keeping up the Rich Mahogany lines after the Holiday interview.
- The whole Curtis Clutch Challenge was perfect, but I laughed out loud at this in particular:

[Penn turns away from the crowd and steps onto the bag. It trips him up and sends all the cash he’d managed to collect up into the air like a cloud that rains back down over the fans.]

- Honorable mention to the main as a great match. The ending is really shaping the story with Dane/Griffith, and HOSS comes out of it looking virtually unstoppable.

What Sucked?
I will say that the overuse of the Kevin slur in the CDC/Skybreakers match took me out of it a little. While I'm not that opposed to it, I think it just got a little excessive, which is kind of out of the characterization of Angus being witty.

Whatever Else You Can Think Of:
Great show, would read again/10.

Match of the Night: Gotta give it up to Holiday/Noble. Fantastic read and Craig knows his shit when it comes to matchwriting.

Segment of the Night: Curtis Clutch Challenge #5. Holy shit, this was great. Loved seeing Penn get a little bit of comeuppance during this challenge finally and I LOVE that the I wanted to happen is happening now and it's fantastic. Gimme Dem Shades, Boah was great for a laugh, too. Also, FDJ/Booya could be about ten levels of awesome.

Surprise of the Night: Hahahaha, Rich living with his mom. Fantastic.

Holy Shit Moment of the Night:

Babyface of the Night: Frank Holiday for looking like a million fucking bucks heading into his SoHer title match next week.

Heel of the Night: Edward White. His machinations from STJ manipulation to the continuous attempts to fuck with Eric Dane and Dusty Griffith. Also, kudos to the LBC for continuing to be awesome.

MVP of the Night (IC): Frank Holiday.

Best Line of the Night: Others have chosen it already, but I love it so much I'm going to copy it here, too:

[Griffith’s brow raises with curiosity and Dane notices it from the corner of his eye. White notices it too, so he adds an extra layer of cheese on this manipulative, bullshit pizza he’s concocting.]

What Ruled? I think this was a great show that did a good job with advancing some good stories. Almost nothing stuck out here as anything "filler."

What Sucked? I know from the stories of this guy getting bagged on, but yes, all the Kevin references. This guy sounded like a d-bag by all accounts, but the past is the past, you know?

Whatever Else You Can Think Of: Keep on keeping on, I enjoyed this show. Nothing really bad to talk about.

Wheeeeeeeeeee!!!

MOTN: Noble/Holiday. Just a solid match through-and-through.

Seg OTN: Curtis Clutch Challenge. It took the running segment to its logical next step, and puts a LOT of heat to the inevitable Dewey/Penn match.

Shock OTN: THE RETURN OF THE AIRSHIP PIRATE~! I'm a sucker for steampunk, and I love the idea of a gimmick like that in e-fedding. Looking forward to more.

HMFSMOTN: Eugene Dewey channeling the ghost of Andre the Giant at WrestleMania 1 and throwing money to the crowd. Jut a great little nostalgia piece.

FOTN: Eugene Dewey.

HOTN: Penn, with a nod towards Team HOSS. Just oodles of assery.

MVP: Dewey, again.

Good: Anything with Dewey, Holliday, and Pyre

Bad: The whole "Kevin" thing is old hat now. I was here when all of that shit went down, and while I don't remember what happened entirely, we should just put it behind us and move on. I mean, poking fun at Cancer Jiles is good and all but it seems more like we're razzing the character. Shitting on Kevin himself is just... mean.

READ BETWEEN THE LINES
Evan, Justin and Myself wrote this.

THE RUNDOWN
It got the job done, good work.

TEAM V.I.A.G.R.A. vs THE P.A.C.
Watching (reading) the PAC get stomped every so often is going to be fun… HOSS on commentary was nifty too… Short, sweet, gets VIAGRA a win, so good job on that… Lots of backstory here being played up between Harmen and Cappy, good to have some of it retold for those of us not there to witness it.

THANKS DOC, YOU EVER SERVE TIME?
Mr. Handy… HAH!... So much lulz and creepiness here, fun stuff.

MUSHIGIHARA vs MIKEY “THE BUSINESS” GIULIANO
One issue, the scrub should have been in the ring waiting for Mushi’s arrival… Hah, like the opening spot where Mushi lets the scrub try and get a free shot in, which fails, and then just proceeds to whoop his ass, nice.

CHANCE MEETINGS ABOUT ZUCCHINI
Me, Blue, JP, and Rob wrote this.

A GRACIOUS OFFER
Tony should never not be a heel, he’s becoming the new Curtis Penn with the SOHER (guy that gets launched with the title). Always good to read his promos.

CDC vs TJT (as of yet unnamed team)
Sorry about the confusion over the Skybreakers name… Things are still “cooking” on that end. The match is solid, maybe a bit longer than it needs to be, but that’s just how I see a tv matches not needing to be real long (perhaps I’ve already watched too much WWE?)... Looking forward to what we can do with Jeff in the future.

ADVANCE SCOUTING
Much better segment for Noble. Cool. Nifty little segment here.

AN OFFER YOU CAN’T REFUSE
This whole segment is awesome because of this:

Dan Ryan
You train in Muay Thai. I train in Muay Thai. You’re obviously obsessed with Japanese culture. I spent most of my youth in Osaka. You fancy yourself a slayer of giants. I shop at the big and tall store. You’re the David to my Goliath. It’s all very Old Testament.

FRANK DYLAN JAMES vs BENNY TORREZ
Last minute jobber squashes in place of participants needing to bail for personal reasons are FAN-TASTIC!

NO EXCUSES
Perfect use of the promo stage and a really good babyface promo to boot as well.

A NOBLE HOLIDAY
Starts off like it’s going to be another day in Frank Holiday paradise promotimeland and then Noble just starts paintbrushing him with the trufax. Dag… I dug it, good showing for both IMO… What’s this 11/1 stuff aboot?

THESE FOOLISH GAMES
This starts out like something Stevie and I would do in a bit (playing some kind of board game), only there’d be a lot more vulgarity involved, hah… Nitpick Alert: You start the scene with DPS agents, then when Warner is at the door, it’s two DEFsec guys guarding it?... AAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!... COMMANDO REFERENCE!!!... Fun stuff, moar plz?

DAVID NOBLE vs FRANK HOLIDAY
I will say that using the Piledriver in the “middle” of a match is a bad move since it’s Antiguas’ big finish, HOWEVER, what I would have suggested is to put over Antiguas as the “master” of the Piledriver / Martinete and thus when he does it, it has “more power” or something. It’s why when I write Dusty’s Powerbomb to be somehow different “perfected” or whatever, so as to make it seem different or “above” everyone elses use of the move…

Also something just felt off with Angus being that bored with the match or wanting it to be over, I mean, he may not like Frank, but it felt like it was a little much. IMO Angus would only be this eager to have a match end if it were a flippity floppity kinda match where Jake Donovan was doing every flippydoo spot you can think of, hah. The commentary was working fine until it got to that point, it didn’t break the match or anything, just me being observational and whatnot. Oooh and Angus calls Frank out for “stealing” the Piledriver, but doesn’t mention it when Noble “stole” the Brainbuster from his hero, Eric Dane? Missed opportunity there, like Angus could have said something to the effect that his booze addled brain has been infected by Holiday’s “thievery.” This is especially so when he calls him out for stealing from Dusty, lulz. Other than that one stretch where Angus is all “bored” and wanting the match to be over with, the commentary is good, so, yeah.

Anyway, the action is good, balanced, which is where it lands in my wheelhouse, so it’s still at least a passing grade IMO. I like the use of the knee injury to highlight that Frank is most definitely still a babyface, good mechanic to use for that. Good match overall, pacing was right, it helped shine some light on David Noble being “tough” which matters in DEFIANCE, it also accomplished reaffirming Holiday as a true face, even if he did some kind of grey area shenanigans with Pyre previously.

RETURN OF THE MAN WITH FROZEN VEGETABLES ON HIS NEVER YOU MIND
So much win… and awesome… and INTRIGUE~?!

NUMBER ONE CONTENDER, BRAH
Again, another good example of using the interview stage… Liked his “reasoning” for his antics with Pyre, guy/bro code and such… Then dishes the dirty about Rich Mahogany, poor Rich, hah… Really dug the whole promo, everything from Noble, Pyre, Rayne, and Tony, good points made, all of it reaffirms Frank’s status as a babyface… Good Job, KENNAH!

SIDETRACK -- Also. I want to suggest that Lance Warner be the backstage interviewer (like he tracks down the “story”) and Christie Zane is the promo stage mic stand (eye candy for the fans in the crowd). Just an idea for consideration.

STOCKTON PYRE vs CURTIS PENN
Surprisingly short, but it’s a good example of how to protect to two guys that don’t need a “real” loss… And then Rich goes beast mode, awesome, a nice twist to the Pyre/Holiday deal based on Frank dropping some dirt from Pyre’s Burn Book, hah. Good stuff.

THE FRUSTRATIONS OF SAM TURNER JR
I think Chris and Blue nailed this, Evan adding in his two cents with Ed’s crew also works. So good to have Evan have back, writing and having fun with it.

GIMMIE DEM SHADES BOAH!
I co-wrote the back end of this with Lee. I even got to write a little Booya, it’s fun!

TIME CHECK + IMPROMPTU SOHER TITLE MATCH
These two teams just can’t seem to get into a match without something happening before it actually happens. The PPV battle is gonna need to be an epic fight to the death or something haha.

RETURN OF THE AIRSHIP PIRATE
Iris putting Booya in his place, hah, nice… Booya knows what a gyroscope is? BOOYA CAN PRONOUNCE GYROSCOPE AT ALL? WAT?!... BELL CLAP!... HENRY KEYES, WOOT!... Hah and Jonny gets bossed around by Iris some more to close, nice.

CURTIS CLUTCH CHALLENGE
Penn taking a page outta Dane’s promo book, saying Germany smells like piss, hah… Ooooh boy, Euge done gonna answer the challenge!... Euge with a huge burn, very nice… Euge wants to take the challenge, ooooh yeah, and Penn tries to chicken shit heel his way out of it is just smart promo work. Too many efedders only want their characters to always be bad ass and unflinching no matter who is in front of them, which is lame… And it turns into a FIST match? Exciting twists and turns if I’m someone in the audience here… AAAAAHAHAHAHA, Penn gets owned hard and then has all his money tossed to the fans, good stuff there…

LATE IN THE CARD ENHANCEMENT TALENT MATCH
Okay, I get Jeff’s reason for throwing this on the show, but it’s really out of place to have two scrub teams this high on the card.

SHADOW TIMES OVER
The Heroes getting real heated up here, can’t wait for the big fight at the PPV.

CURTIS PENN MEETS THE BO$$
Very nice spot here, Penn continuing to move up the card, getting bigger and brighter with every step up the proverbial ladder. Could definitely see Penn aligned with the Diamonds in a totally opportunistic way, selling out DEFIANCE for his own best interests more than an outright betrayal. I look forward to the segment AFTER the Penn vs Euge for the FIST, regardless of who ends up winning that in the end.

MAIN EVENT: DANE & DUSTY vs TEAM HOSS
Kudos to Seth for playing up the drama between Dane and Dusty on commentary… Good opening start for Dusty and Dane, using the classic tag team tactics to break Alecz’ arm apart, I also like how it eventually crumbled and sent the momentum swinging to HOSS… And the champs get their shine, showing off their own ability to use teamwork, I also like how Keeling is quick to bark orders about Dane’s knees, it’s a small-ish detail that gets missed when people have manager characters… Totally makes sense, but I never-ever thought I’d see Eric Dane playing Ricky Morton, hah, good stuff… HOT TAG! HOT TAG! HOT TAG!... *record scratch* And there’s where it gets all fouled up, good way to do it too… Once again, Seth just rocks the matchwriting, thank you, sir, thank you.
