[font color = "red"]"I can’t tell you who to idolize
You think it’s almost over but it’s only on the rise
Calling calling for something in the air
Calling calling I know you must be there
The story of a women on the morning of a war
Remind me if you will exactly what we’re fighting for"

From his roof, Eli Flair had a good view of the Manhatten skyline. He'd spent a good deal of time up on his roof since ELVIS LIVES, since his match with Troy Windham tore his leg up something awful. For weeks, while the stitches did their job and he once again learned how to walk without pain.... all he would do was think about what he would do when he returned to the CSWA. Without Poison Ivy in his corner, he was on his own for the first time. Without Hornet on his team, he was against the rest of the world once again. But the prognosis looked good for Troy Windham to make a full recovery as well.... and Eli looked forward to the next time the two would meet in the ring - their previous three singles encounters had torn the house down, and a fourth would do even better.

[font color = "black"]It's been eleven days since Eli Flair has thought about Troy Windham.

Eleven days since Eli Flair has thought about returning to the CSWA.

Eleven days since Eli Flair has thought about revenge in the world of wrestling.

He did what he could.... the McGinnis' diner, Center Field, was the site of one of many blood drives in the city. Everyone involved in the emergency work was given free meals, and more than one of the owners themselves worked 27- to- 36 hour shifts to keep things going. And while he could not donate blood himself due to his array of tattoos, nobody who was there can fault Eli Flair for doing his part.

But tonight.... he's all alone.... and he's on the roof staring into a piece of empty sky that should not be empty.

The CSWA has been in the midst of yet another temporary shutdown of activity, between the summer lull coming to an end after a firey pay- per- view and the events of the past two weeks.... which has given most of the roster a chance to go home and visit their families, to heal some old injuries and have surgery for some of the more serious ones.

Where does Eli Flair go? Where does a man with no family go? In time of tragedy, the solitary figures turn inward toward themselves for strength and support. They rely on themselves for everything else.... why not strength and support in times of crisis?

Seeing people risk their lives for hundreds of others that they don't even know has had a profound impact on Eli Flair's life. It suddenly makes him view his own accomplishments in the wrestling world seem very trite, very meaningless. And it's making him wonder.... what is it about the CSWA that he was looking forward to returning to? He's right back where he started in the summer of 1997, recovering from injury and wondering if he still has a place anymore.

Besides that, he's not getting any younger.

Starting to deserve this
Leaning on my consious wall
Blood is like wine
Unconscious all the time
If I had it all again
I'd change it all"

So here he is, staring into a blank space that should not be blank, with his hair getting longer by the day and a very out of place blue streak down the side of it, with a leg wrapped in gauze since there's still seventy- nine stitches in it.... pondering his future. Looking for reassurance and strength from the only place he can go.

Himself.

But he's tired.... and maybe.... just maybe.... it's time to let someone else in.

You know, considering this is the first thing I've written in a long time that I didn't force myself to write.... it didn't come out too bad.

I think there's some fire in my brain left. Good to know I didnt' drink it all away.
