Form mail help?

Hi all,

I recently sent in an email to webmaster@fwrestling.com reporting this problem, but have had no feedback yet, so I'm hoping someone here can answer my query?

I signed up with FW for the basic hosting plan, and I have been working on the fed application form using FW's Form mail facilities, but every time I hit submit, I get an error message... I thought I might have done something wrong with my code, so I tried out the sample example on the FW site, but I get the same error message:

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@fwrestling.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm sorry if I'm being impatient with waiting for a response, but I'm just a little bit anxious and hope to get the fed up and running ASAP...

Thanks for your time and help.

I came across the same problem before Chad made the move from the old FW site to this one. When I had reported it to Chad, he had acknowledged that there was a problem and would look into it. Apparently, this one's gotten past Chad for the moment. :rolleyes:

What I ended up doing was using a form-mail code from Bravenet. I modified the code to fit my needs and have never had a problem with it.

Hi Joe

Thanks for the reply. :)

For the Bravenet thing, do I need to open an account with Bravenet? Or do I just need the code and still be able to host the form with FW? Is it possible for you to tell us what the code is?

Thanks for all the help, really appreciate it.

Cheers.

Howdy Will.....

You will need to become a Bravenet member to utilize that code (or any other service they offer) as it uses your email as the destination for interactive replies. Don't fret though, that aspect of the Bravenet service is free. :D All you have to do is click on the link below:

http://bravenet.com

When you get there, just follow the directions and after you join, you will want to click on the "Email Forms" option they offer. They will instantly email you the code to use for your site. When you join, make sure you use the same email you plan on using to receive the join applications for your league.

If you need any help getting it going, feel free to contact me, I'm in the "FW" book...... :cool:

Thanks!

Hi Joe!

Thanks for the speedy response! It would appear I have a Bravenet account from many years ago (looks like it's finally come to some use lol), and it seems to be working just fine now... I don't suppose you know of a way so that after submitting the form, the page somehow takes you back to your site instead of to the Bravenet site? No matter... I'll just have the app open on a blank page...

Thanks again for your help Joe, most appreciated.

Cheers!

Howdy again Will....

Actually, I do know how to have you redirected back to a page of your choosing after pressing the submit button. All you need to do is the following:

1. Log into your Bravenet account.
2. Look for the "Registered Services" section and click on "Service Manager" for the "Email Forms".
3.Click on general settings.
4. Look for the section on the bottom that says "Thank You URL" and put in the URL of the page you want displayed after the submission button is pressed.
5. That's all she wrote! :)

Oh man, you know what? You're just awesome you are Joe, you're absolutely awesome, I'd kiss you but my wife might not like it, so I'll just say a hugetastic thank you to ya...

THANK YOU! :)

Seriously, thanks for all your help Joe, really really appreciate it. Cheers!

(I'd post a link to my fed, but not sure if it's appropriate, so I'll just say - ESW's coming baby! lol)

Thanks again for the time and help.

I'll echo those thanks to Joe as well. Thanks as always man!

Will, sorry for the lack of reply. I've been travelling for work over the past week and have been AWOL. A couple of people have contacted me about this bug since the upgrade, and it is indeed one that has missed my attention.

About posting your fed link, feel free...that's what Grand Central here on FW Central is for!

Taking up on Chad's advice, albeit a month later, here's the link to our fed! :D

Empire State Wrestling
Giving New York A Bad Reputation

It's a simmed fed but with loads of hand written bits and ending and stuff... voting panel... weekly card... 3 singles belt... brand new site! Not sure what else to say... I'm the Commissioner (aka the lazy one lol), the fed is owned by 3 of us (2 co-owners and me)... we used to be known as NYCW (New York Championship Wrestling), but had the name change after changing the gimmick of the fed (small time indy fed to big leagues now)... enough of me babbling, come check us out... we're a very VERY relaxed fed, and more importantly, we don't bite.

Cheers
