Though I did want to get some attention. What I wanted was to make sure that people knew what was up with me because some very big things are going on in my life and I want to share them with you. First though, let me give you guys a little bit of history as to how I've arrived at this point in my life.

As most of you know, I was an active duty sailor in the United States Navy stationed in Brunswick Maine. In May, I was informed that I was going to be discharged for failing to meet the Navy's fitness standards. The reason that I could not meet the Navy's fitness standards was because my body fat percentage was 4% over the Navy's threshold. The date of my discharge was set as July 10, 2006.

Prior to my seperation, I was informed that I would be recieving a full Honorable Discharge from the military. I also was informed that due to the fact that I had over six years of service in the Navy, I was entitled to receive severance pay. After taxes, this severance amount was $7500 dollars. It was my intention to take this money, and move back home to Kentucky, and use it to get into an appartment, and cushion for a bit as I attempted to find employment.

On the day of my seperation, I was informed that due to the fact that I had re-enlisted, and received a selective re-enlistment bonus, that I was going to have to pay the Navy back a part of that bonus, since I was being discharged prior to the end of my enlistment contract. The amount that I was asked to payback was $10,000. The Navy, in order to recoup thier money, took the amount of money I was entitled to for my seperation, (ie my severance pay, unused leave etc.) and put it towards the bonus I was to pay back. This has left me with a balance of just over $2500 that I still owe the Navy to this day.

Needless to say, this changed my plans quite a bit as now, I was forced to move in with my mother, and find employment immediately. I found employment at a small regional airport located in Sellersburg Indiana as a lineman. Basically I was responsible for moving aircraft in and out of hangars, fueling aircrafts of all make and models, and general groundskeeping maintenance.

I started working there towards the end of August, and I worked there until I was fired at the beginning of this month. I was fired for no reason whatsoever, and because Indiana is an at will eomployer, they have the right to do that. I think that's a ****ty deal, but whatever.

Two days after losing that job, I contacted a friend of mine who I served with in the Navy to do some catching up. He informed me that his employer was hiring like crazy, looking for aircraft mechanics that had my skills. I asked him to give me the phone number so I could try and get the job. He did that and I spoke with his boss over the phone. I must have made an impression because he wanted me to fill out an application and send in my resume immediately.

Less than 24 hours after submitting that information, I was given an offer for a job. The only condition on the job offer was to pass a pre employment drug screen. I wasn't worried about this since I have never done any illegal drugs in my life.

Yes I know. Shocking.

Moving on, I got a call today that my lab results came back negative for anything, and they wanted to know when I could start. I informed them as soon as I could drive to Maryland from Indiana. They told me that they start new hires on Monday, so this coming weekend, I am driving to Maryland. I am going to be staying with my friend from the Navy who is already there until I get a place of my own. My wife and kids will stay behind until after Christmas so that I can take the kids out of school while they on Christmas break. It will be less stressful of a transition for them I feel.

So, I don't foresee being able to not particpate in anything. Right nbow the only thing I'm worried about is the TEAM schedule. If Jason Payne pulls out the win over Spoiler in TEAM this week, then it will be interesting to see if I can make the finals. I don't foresee a problem since my buddy has internet at his house, but you never can tell with these things. Other than that it's a wait and see on NEW and NFW shows as well as seeing how badly Payne gets spanked in the Goldrush.

But that's where I'm at in this thing so I just wanted to let those of you know who might be interested in what's going on with me in the event IU seem to drop off the face of the planet for a while. It's not my doing, and rest assured if that happens, I will be back.

Some good news for you, finally. :) Good luck with the move and maybe you can crash Katz's place for an apartment warming party. ;)

I hear you. Verizon sucks! Comcast all the way! Congrats on the job... I am in similar shoes (w/ a wife and a kid) due to an injury in Iraq. We're in the same boat. Stay in touch and we can help each other out if needed.

Seriously, let me know if you need anything.
