Where's my money, Chad?
Hey guys. I've decided to hang up my E-BOOTS and step away from the hobby for good after my match at Futureshock. Which means I'll be gone for good sometime in late 2017. This is a long-form farewell...
Kidding aside, this hobby was one of the best things that ever happened to me. It made me a writer, and that's how I make my living at work. One of these days, maybe I will get paid to write fiction. I'll let you know how that works out!
This has been hands-down the best e-fed organization I've ever written for; a real haven of creativity with some of the best people involved. Thanks for all the awesome memories.
Huge thanks to JN, Gregg, and Katz for being the guys I most aspired to emulate in this hobby. Outside of NFW, I had some of the best times of my life writing for Dave Brunk and EPW, with my good friend Mike Stanton. My old Prodigy crew - Rob Leland, Jen Byron, Ernie Garrett, Mike McNichols, none of whom gives fuck one about the hobby anymore - thanks for teaching me how to play! NLW was awesome and a pleasure to run. PRIME was cool. A1E go fuck yourselves. And a major thanks to Chad for keeping the lights on here at FWC, which has and (hopefully) always will stand head and shoulders above every other community. And thanks for the hundred bucks that time, dude.
Wish I still had the time and desire, but I'm at the point where I would rather put my energy into other creative outlets. I look forward to lurking the forums, because I consider you guys friends and don't think people should necessarily leave the hobby AND the forums. At some point before I finish up, I am going to post one final Castor Strife "project" that's been in my head for a while.
Thanks for the memories!
