[The man standing before the camera is barely recognizable to his former fans. Where once he was built like a superhero, now his aging body begins to sag. His once clean shaven face is now covered with a thick curly beard. Most of all his eyes lack the passion of his youth.]
"Some people say that wrestling is like riding a bike. That you never forget how to do it. The truth is that wrestling is nothing like a bike, you can forget, and it hurts a lot while you relearn."
[The man, Jeremy Knyte, flashes a wry smile and rubs his shoulder.]
"Many times in my life I've stood in front of a camera and rambled on about my superior skill and unparallelled intellect. You know... lied. I paraded around the backstage and around the ring like a lion showing off for his pride. Humbleness and humility were words that I didn't know, and ego was the blood that filled my veins."
[The wry smiled faded as the former champion continued his monologue.]
"I spat out words about my greatness, novels were formed from my gloating. I pushed my crumbling personal life into the spotlight and exploited it for cheap heat and regional gold from fifteen minutes of glory federations. My body was pumped full of hgh and cocktails of steroids and painkilers. I subjected myself to barbed wire torture and played the faked death game with no care for what it did to my family, friends, or body.
I betrayed friends for titles.
I betrayed my honor to win wars.
I betrayed my family for glory."
[Jeremy pauses. He looks down and takes a deep breath before raising his eyes toward the camera again.]
"And when it was all gone, I was alone. I had dug a grave, and filled with every friend and principle I had. I burnt every bridge I had crossed and in the end I got just what I deserved.
I was forgotten.
I was broken.
Now I'm nobody."
[Knyte fingers his thick beard as his voice rises in agitation.]
"I will not accept that. After all I've gone through for this business. I can not be nothing. I can not let all the pain I've inflicted on my friends and family be for nothing more then a footnote in a decade old wrestling almanac. I've fought wars againt Ken Jansen and his Soldiers and won. I helped hone Michael Lennox into a champion. I stood side by side with the D.W.A. and fought the Misfits.
And now that all of that is meaningless, I must rise from the ashes again. Recreate myself from nothing back to being The Hero that I imagined that I always was. I have to prove that I am the best I can be. I must fight."
[Knyte takes a deep calming breath before lowering his voice and continuing.]
"Win, lose, or draw."
[Fade out.]
Wrestler(s) Information
Ring Name: Jeremy Knyte
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 262lbs
Hailing From: Intercourse, PA
Alignment: Usually I go opposite of who ever I feud with, but face is fine.
Gimmick: Knyte is pretty much a wrestler who is past his glory days. He tries to be a charismatic face but he doesn't have the same appeal in the modern wrestling scene.
Wrestling Style: Formerly a technical wrestler who dabbled in hardcore and high risk, Knyte is now more of a brawler who is rather sloppy when trying technical moves.
Three Weaknesses:
1. Bad hands. Knyte has the beginning stages of arthritis in his hands and can't sustain submission holds for prolonged peroids of time.
2. Lack of strength. Knyte is weaker than his size suggest since he no longer is under the effects of performance enhancing drugs.
3. Sore. Knyte's previous high risk career has left his body aching and has slowed him down considerably.
Three Strengths:
1. Ring Awarness. 20 years of wrestling adds up to an excellent sense of knowing where he is in the ring.
2. Ring Presence. Knyte has been around for a while and knows how to get a crowd to respond.
3. Determined. Knyte is driven to not be a failure and will push himself to keep going til his body fails.
