Okay, you have a fed - you love it, and you have like 5 or 6 dedicated people. The rest of the roster has dropped off the face of the earth and seems not interested in participating. So, firing them is the obvious choice, so save that - firing isn't a 'punishment' as they obviously don't care.

What do you do to create interest from the handlers standpoint?

What can be done to not draw in new handlers, but really push the ones you have with such a limited roster?

What do you do?

Well, I'm not a fed-head, but if I had to try something, I'd go to each handler and ask if they have any ideas for story lines, and maybe pitch a few ideas to them myself. I'd also throw something interesting out on a card which none expects - maybe a one-off match for the entire roster to determine the number one contender or something. With a selection of storylines going, the fed would also generate more applications, so it's a win-win situation in my mind.

AHH! Kyle!! Didn't know you were on these boards. Anyhow, in response to your query, I think you need to be in tune with everything your active handlers are doing. Talk with them, make suggestions, work with them on their storylines.... basically just communication. Beyond that, I think it boils down to giving back what they put in effort-wise and mixing things up.

TKO went through the same thing back in July which lead to its' hiatus.

There's really little you can do to regain the interest of inactive handlers, if there was ever any interest on their part in the first place. To maintain the interest of handlers, the top four things you need to do are maintain a friendly, active OOC community, frequently update your pages, have original and innovative ideas and don't post late results.

I can tell you that a good proportion of handlers who become inactive in a fed usually lose interest due to a lack of at least one of those points.

If you've got all four of those points and have attempted to involve the handler within your results, then there's going to be little you can do to win them back.

Remember, some people may sign up without being the remote bit interested in your promotion. Which is why, unless you're what is known as an "elitest" fed or unless you're part of a known community, your best method is to recruit members yourself.

Why does that matter?

It matters because those are the only two things which attract good, genuine signups.
