It's still very early, but based on what you've seen, who are the current favorites in the ULTIMATE GOLD RUSH Match at ANNIVERSARY?

Can Troy hold on to the UNIFIED World Title? What about the other title-holders?

Who would you love to go up against?

Who would you hate to have facing you in order to empty a ring?

Open to everybody -- competitors or not.

If I had to pick the final five (not including myself), it would be Ken Hiroshi, JJ Deville, Eli Flair, Scott Riktor and Troy Windham. I think from round one, those were the guys who've been opening my eyes, and I see a lot of potential into round two. My only worries with any of these guys, is that Troy has been responding a bit "too much" to people, and some of his responses went from "shut down" to "neener neener, I'm better than you". He hasn't tried to "blow his load" on responses, so he has a lot to still save for later, but if there really isn't a need to reply to what a guy said, he should hold comments.

I think Troy could definitely retain, and with the competition just getting hotter and hotter, it just makes the achievement bigger. I think Hiroshi can defend, same to JA, but I think at least one belt is going to be dropped. It all really depends on who they get in the ring with.

Being in the ring again with Xias would be fun, but CSWA wouldn't be the best place for that sort of encounter, since it would be like having Homicide wrestle Colt Cabana on WWE Velocity right now, no-one would know the history. Eli Flair and Eron would be a cool face-off if done properly. It would have to be done in such a way where both men want to take each other out, but still want to save their energy for Troy.

I would hate to face Eli Flair, JJ Deville or Peter Lenex. I think Lenex could explode given the right circumstances.

This would be ridiculous, but I'd enjoy it. Viva La RoH!

Its hard because everyone has come strong so far, but if I had to pick I'd say Gregg has definitely come strong with every character he's RPed with, although I agree he may sugffer burn-out before the deadline comes. Ken Hiroshi is always a good read, and Eli Flair, man he goes without saying. Hmm, although Eron wouldn't say, he's put a huge case forward.......and maybe the Gent....maybe....just glad I don't have to make the call!

definatly a hard decision to make ... the reading alone is getting hard to keep track of.

I'm afraid of burning out, too. I've been TRYING to transition what I'm doing with Troy. My mission with him, though, is to have all 30+ people having a beef with him. The only way to do that is to have these little irritating flash notes. It's hard to keep up with really nasty stuff. I'll be transitioning soon enough to doing longer notes, more the kind of stuff I usually do.

THANK YOU for having someone notice JJ DeVille. I tried to have a more JJ day yesterday. I would absolutely love to see him come out of this as champ. (Even moreso than having Troy retaining. Not that I'm not trying to have Troy retain. It's just that JJ's got a great story to tell that I'm really pushing hard without anyone really biting yet.)

Dan Ryan and Eli (duh), Hiroshi and Eron have also really impressed me. I'm hoping Lindsay Troy does more stuff, and the same with JA. And of course the same with Lawrence Stanley -- he's one of my all-time favorite characters, I want to see him do some damage. Ross, you're showing know rust at all, you just need to do a little more and get in with some other folks.

Hiroshi's the toughest for me to RP against. Troy doesn't have any history with the character and he really doesn't care about Troy, completely going against the grain of everyone else. Ryan and Eli are tough as hell, too, because they're consistently the best notewriters. The Troy/Ryan feud legitimately caused me to go on my retirement-hiatus thing, because there was no way I could do that again.

But the true revelation for me, so far, has been the kid who showed up out of nowhere with Mike Smalls. Those notes are absolutely priceless and great, great stuff. I really hope he sticks around after this, because it's a really unique, fun character.

I finally got to some of the Gent's work, and it had a smirk on my face the entire time. How close could this competition be to the best Open Challenge CSWA has ever had? Just curious :)

I have to agree with Gregg on that one, entertaining stuff so far from Smalls.
