Ok first of all, I'm going to try and avoid things I've written and my characters for the most part. Of course, i can't always avoid that considering how much of these shows I've written. This is also at work and off the top of my head, so if I forget things its cause I smoke
ALOT.
Wrestlers
Nova
Kin Hiroshi
Felix Red
I think those were the 3 main rocks of NFW throughout 2007. YYJ definitely could've made it had he stuck through the whole year.
Joe the Plumber is Rookie of the Year.
Matches
Of the ones I didn't write: Kin Hiroshi vs. Felix Red by McNichols was one of the most important matches of the year. Chris has written some great matches, but Eli Flair and Nova fighting on a monster truck takes the cake. Eli Flair vs. Dan Ryan was one of the best traditional matches for the fed. Colin's stepped up big-time as a matchwriter, I'm looking forward to his Crashmas match.
Events
WB2, Conference finals
Crash 42
Top ones are the obvious choices, but I feel that Crash 42 finally solidified the fed in terms of the divisions, rivalries and storylines we're building during the 3.0 era. That might be more important than the fact Season 2 finished.
Debuts
Joe The Plumber, Teresa Quaranta, Phil Atken, Mittens T. Cat: I think these four all debuted in 2007 and have found their place in the fed through the whole turmoil, trial and error of NFW 2.0 -> NFW 3.0 They've become four of the most consistent RP voices in the fed.
Of course, there's Professor Tremendous lurking in the shadows evilly...
Returns
Sean Stevens and Rook Black. These two returns anchored the National Title division and gives it great balance going into the National Championship Series at Crashmas 6. Both are infamously famous from their necks of the woods, and they've seamlessly worked well with alot of new to this community writers.
Gregg Gethard. What he's done the last two months is amazing. If JN writes the Crashmas 6 match on time, 2008's outlook for the tag division is supernova bright.
Departures
Michael Manson, Maggot, YYJ, Eli Flair, KVC, Lindsay Troy, Joey Melton, Tom Adler, Guy B., Jason Payne.
These were all great characters and big parts of NFW 2.0 foundation. Jason Payne has been in contact with me about getting back into writing, which is good.
Surprises
We lost the above, but still gained enough new talent to look good for 2008. Everyone's stepped up their RP games, as well. I'm still shocked that Nova predicted a YYJ Eastern Conference Win before McNichols booked it. Since I booked everything else, there's little to be surprised about.
Oh wait, a Michael LeQuan Dove 15 minute YouTube promo was NEVER predicted.
Feuds
Felix vs. Kin - My vote for Feud of Season 2.
Teresa vs. Atken or Teresa vs. Rook -- I think they're great feuds, but very different in concept from each other.
Joe the Plumber vs. his own mind -- His latest tattoo is just wrong.
Dan Ryan vs. NFW peers -- Aside from the Eli Flair match, he's dealt with nothing normal. Chocolate sauce, day-glo, a cracked out Kin...I know he'd have guessed it'd be a cold night in hell, when a returning Eddie Mayfield might actually benefit his NFW career.
Angles
Nova and Felix's riot at Crash 42 opened up ALOT of things. Nova delay suplexing a drugged out rioter onto the console in the middle of a seg was my LOL moment of the show.
Anything Rook Black related has been fun to watch, knowing the end result of the first character arc.
Felix Red's face turn has been done quite secretly and slowly.
I don't think anyone else is really focusing too hard on character storylines, but I do know of some that are in the works that should be fun. The RP environment is really competitive right now, which is helping develop the fed's storyline...so its not that big of a deal either that we're not doing too much character stuff. Although, it is coming.
Moments
The finish to Eli/Nova in Hell's Kitchen (I marked, that's sad)
Kin Hiroshi winning the World
Nova winning the Ultratitle, Flair helping him onto the Mothership
Joe the Plumber... being Joe the Plumber
Mittens T. Cat cutting his first promo out of the catsuit
Manson's retirement
Eli's NFW retirement with support from Ivy/Dan Ryan
Mittens challenging Joe to a gravy match
Kooter vs. JTP's RP Thread
Dan Ryan's chocolate sauce experiences and reactions
Chris: (post YYJ/Nova): "I think I've just been on a bad acid trip."
Bobby: (post WB2) "I've never done acid, but I think I know what its like now."
Most Improved
Kooter Cruise-Michaels...seriously. Does anyone find him disturbingly hilarious?
I think Legion's also improved greatly since starting. The less Stamford references, the better.
Managers
Calvin Carlton, Dirk Dirkwood, Legion...and Mitt Romney.
Staff Members
Gregg Gethard's efforts in getting the tag division off the ground speak to his fokrutic force. McNichols did a great job...better than me.
Outlook on 2008
Frankly, I think we're in a really great place. If we had more consistent matchwriters we'd be in a perfect place. I think each title division is set up very well, we've got a great mix of new characters, FW veterans and talented writers. I think its providing a fun atmosphere for everyone and its definitely a unique roster which provides a unique experience. The tag division has alot of potential, especially if we pull in a few more new teams to balance out and give programs for Gregg's daily creations.
The title divisions look like they all can be forces of nature in 2008, which is very motivating for myself. Everyone here is doing a phenomenal job in terms of RPing, so hopefully our next wave of talent will involve a few more matchwriters and we can start dreaming of shows in under 3 weeks again.
