GET READY FOR RINGSIDE - Good call on Daft Punk. The animation bit is solid. I’m really enjoying the WENDY DREWES / TED CALDWELLER partnership - seems very genuine, easy. I can see/hear them going back and forth with each other. As somebody else I was talking to said … “these people are real” and it’s so true - all our characters are 3-D. Anyhow, big props on quickly and successfully developing these co-anchors.
FAN FEAST - GREAT SEGMENT. So much small, fun stuff happening here - sweet Random Rumble tees, Langston w/ the FIREBALLS, Mayfield and Fiona interaction. Oh, and how about MAYFIELD/LAMONT. That was hilarious. Tip of the cap to whoever dreamt that bit up. Of course, PETER WINDHAM crashes the party and that whole sequence was tremendous. I liked LDO laughing at MAYFIELD and then getting payback from the SECRET SERVICE! Really glad to see LANE CASH bust in and attack KUROYAMA after he chased PETER into the parking lot. Lane’s becoming such a world-class douche. Segment ends w/ Peter flipping everybody the bird from the protection of Lane’s limo! Gold.
QUICK MATCH RECAP feat. HOLLYWOOD and ANDERSON - EPIC DEBUT, BRO. I’ve heard some about JAMES JOHNNY JONES and, after reading this, I’m a fan. I want to see more from him. Good to see BLAINE pick up more steam - as I’ve said before, I like Blaine and want to see him featured more. Same goes for MALIK … he needed a win and BARTOLO ROJAS came across as legit to me. Good matches for recaps.
SONS OF LIBERTY v. THE PILGRIM EXPRESS - Now, this wouldn’t be a good Thanksgiving show without JEBEDIAH and OBADIAH - they worked great for a one-time team. We haven’t seen Eddie in action much so this was good. Mayfield/Mercado is a fun team. Really good line from OBI/JEB about Mayfield throwing fire from his hands (and being a devil worshipper). This was actually a solid match and I LOVED the fact that LONE WOLF comes down and wipes the Pilgrims out. NOW that’s a Thanksgiving show. Good to get the SOL a win.
