NO DISQUALIFICATION STIPULATION ADDED TO NIGHT 2 MAIN EVENT
Posted November 18, 2009
Big news concerning this week's first round matches in the Total J Cup! Friday and Saturday both feature six exciting matches and both shows have high profile main events but the second show's main event just got that much bigger! Two of Simcoe County Championship Wrestling's stars and former best friends-turned bitter rivals Patrick McCarthy and Jay Jerzey will face off in what's now been dubbed a NO DISQUALIFICATION match based on the hatred between the two men and the fact that anytime they face off its sure to get ugly! We will let them go wild this Saturday night to finish off the round one events and anything goes. Total J Cup reporter Kelly Calloway got both men's response to the new stipulation, asking their thoughts on headlining the Round One 2-night events and how have things changed in the way they look at the tournament or prepare for it, if at all, since finding out that they are facing an opponent who they have a storied rivalry with in a No DQ Match.

Jerzey was first to comment, "Think about it, you go to Ozzfest to see Ozzy Osbourne, correct? Why wouldn't you come to the Total JAY Cup to see Jay Jerzey? Patrick McCarthy in a No Disqualification match? Been there, done that, made it a yearly thing. McCarthy cannot, and will not beat me. There's nothing I need to change in this match, because he never changes. He's ignorant enough to think he's going to beat me? He must've drank one too many this morning. After all, there's only two things McCarthy can do right... Be and alcoholic, and lose to Jay Jerzey."

Patrick McCarthy then gave his two cents, "Obviously its a great honor and a privilege to be headlining an event like the Total J Cup, which has so much history and prestige in this sport. And how fitting it is that a tournament with such history is main evented by two men who have so much history together. Jay Jerzey and I started out as tag team partners way back in 2003-2004 as Youthanazia; he took me under his wing, and handed me a tag team title belt. That was my first title, and it was the last one I've ever been handed. And you see, that's a fundamental difference between Jerzey and myself. He wants things handed to him. He wants what he believes is owed to him. I fight to earn my place in this sport. I fight to cement my legacy for generations of future wrestlers. And I don't accept the path of least resistance as an option. Now Jay and I have done this for years now. I've busted him open, he's cut me with barbed wire, I've cracked his bones, he's spilled my blood. Long story short: we've had our fun. Our battle is the personification of the unstoppable force against the immovable object. Our paths in this life and in this sport are intertwined and it seems as though we're destined to do this forever... or at least until one of us draws our last breath or bleeds our last drop of blood out on that canvas. As for whether or not this changes anything... No. Nothing can change the unquenchable hatred that Jerzey and I have for each other. The only thing that changes is what the fans will see. In other matches they'll see acrobatics, athletic finesse and professional gamesmanship. In the Main Event of Night 2, when Patrick McCarthy and Jay Jerzey step into the ring together with the rule book out the window, they'll see something much different. They'll see violence, they'll see blood, and they will see two of the very best this sport has ever seen not trying to win a match, or trying to advance in a tournament... but two men trying to end each others lives and careers. That, Ms. Calloway, is what has changed."

Both men shared their thoughts and its clear that they mean business! Their match this Saturday night is sure to tear the house down and end the Round One matches with a bang! Get your tickets now as they are rapidly selling out. Tier 1 and Tier 2 tickets are sold out for both events, with Tier 3 nearly completely sold out for both, and a couple dozen General Admission tickets available for the shows. Don't delay! Get your tickets for this prestigious event now!
