SWF CEO and Promoter Matthew Martin has a new agenda. Effective immediately the Superstar Wrestling Federation will be participating in the Global Initiative. This is an open invitation to any professional wrestler in any pro wrestling or sports entertainment promotion, large or small, from across the world, to have the opportunity to compete on SWF television.
Upon hearing the news of this historic decision, LoC contracted wrestler MaX-Files signed on the dotted line to take on fWo contracted wrestler Malik Roland. I have also been told since the invitation is on a first come, first serve basis, the SWF World Heavyweight Championship will be decided by these very two same men during the Main Event of Episode 3 of the Saturday Night Sizzler!
But not so fast! After hearing the news themselves for the first time, the SWF Board of Directors began to stir. Matthew Martin's controversial decision on how to crown a World Heavyweight Champion may have to stand, however deciding the No.1 Contender was something the Board was able to discuss in great length. It was decided that the loser of the historic LoC vs fWo interpromotional matchup would have an unprecidented ten year rematch clause implemented, meaning at any time between November 15, 2008 and November 15, 2018 the loser of the match could have an impromptu championship rematch with whoever is SWF World Heavyweight Champion at the time.
But that's not all! The issue was immediately brought up that neither an LoC contracted performer, nor an fWo contracted performer, would be obligated to become an official member of the SWF. The SWF World Heavyweight Championship itself however has the stipulation that if it is not defended within 30 days it will be vacated and a new SWF World Heavyweight Champion would have to be crowned. Preferably, this would be by someone who is an actual member of the SWF! Thus, a compromise has been made. As part of Matthew Martin's proposed Global Initiative, not only will there be an SWF World Heavyweight Champion crowned on November 15th but also the creation of the SWF Global Championship which encompasses any non-contracted SWF performer or champion to compete in interpromotional matches under the Superstar Wrestling Federation banner!
Never before in the rich history of professional wrestling has a truly Global Champion been crowned. It's the best of not only the LoC or the fWo but also other nationally, internationally, and globally recognized organizations as well having the opportunity to compete under one roof. The SWF has its own seperate representative title. Due to being the host of such a large-scale and high-stakes championship SWF contracted performers are not allowed to compete for the Global title on SWF television however if a Global Champion decides to wrestle an SWF performer they may do so in their own organization on their own turf!
The dynamics of this championship will spread far and wide. The hope is that there will be a global exchange of talent where the very best of the SWF finds itself competing against the very best the rest of the professional wrestling world has to offer. Fans also have the opportunity to see matches they may have never dreamed actually possible. Who wouldn't want to see for example a top representative of Supreme Championship Wrestling versus a top representative from SNM? The SWF will provide this platform for organizations like the ones previously mentioned (any many more!) as part of Matthew Martin's Global Initiative. Expect organizations from Japan, Mexico, Canada, and elsewhere to answer this call and be featured regularly on SWF television!
