(CUT TO: Troy Windham, his hair freshly frosted, sits on the deck of his South Beach parlor, overlooking the Intercoastal Waterway.)
TROY: "Now it's official. NOW THIS THING MEANS SOMETHING. Because I have arrived. Troy Windham. The EPITOME OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING."
(Troy smirks and winces in pain.)
TROY: "Now, I don't have a lot of time left. When I was 20-years-old and made my debut, I said my goal was not to win a title. It was not even to win MANY titles. It was to be hailed as THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME. Any look at my resume will tell anyone -- no matter how simple -- that I am indeed what I've said I've been all along. I am better than the best. I am the top dog. I am the alpha. I am the name in the lights. I am the I am everything everyone's heard about all these years... and I'm still underrated."
(Troy leans back on the deck.)
TROY: "People have always slept at what I do in the ring, and that's fine, because after all these years I still catch people by surprise. But what NO ONE can deny is my ability to frame a story. I have always found a way to make EVERYTHING about me. I steal the show. That's what I've always done. That's what I do today. And that's what I'll do even when I've been buried. Because I discovered a long time ago something that only a handful of people realize. Marketing yourself and making yourself big matters a hell of a lot more than knowing 35,000 Japanese armbar reversals. I know how to talk to the fans. I know how to manipulate the wrestling media. And I'm doing that again, right now."
(Troy stretches his neck.)
TROY: "Here's the narrative of this year's Ultratitle -- I don't have a lot of time left as an active wrestler. I've had countless surgeries on my neck. I've had spinal fusion. One bad fall, and the chances of me ending up in a wheelchair for the rest of my life go up exponentially. I am already, clearly, the greatest of all-time. But right now, I am in this to SET THE BAR to impossible levels. Because the one thing that has eluded my grasp... the one thing that I have not been able to capture all these years... is The Ultratitle."
(Troy once again rolls his neck.)
TROY: "Here's the story of the tournament, guys. This is my last chance to win that thing. This is my last chance to cement, in stone forever, my place as The Epitome of this industry. I don't WANT the Ultratitle. I NEED the Ultratitle. And my pursuit of that title... the narrative of Troy's Last Chance... is the ONLY narrative arc anyone's going to care about. PERIOD."
