Using the Backstage Script [a quick how-to]

I've been noticing some formatting errors in roleplays and segments, and I've been meaning to post this forever.

There are two easy ways to write in our backstage script.

The first is to actually write in the WYSIWYG editor, and use the control panel to add your formatting (bold, italic, etc.) The only problem here is I'm not sure if there's an auto-save function. However, you can save your RP to finish later by simply not checking the "make public" box.

The second, and easiest (IMO) option, is to write your work wherever you normally write your work, but add in your own html tags. And then, AND THIS IS IMPORTANT, paste the entire into the script AS PLAIN TEXT. This way it'll read the html, and not bother to try converting from word or works or drive or whatever else you might have written in.

Also, Brunk, quit italicizing your brackets. I always​ have to change them.

How to Post a Roleplay/Promo:

I find that it's easier (I'm on an old laptop running XP) to take what you write in Google Doc and paste it into a notepad file with word wrap turned off. Then copy and paste that (CTRL+V on the keyboard, do not paste from the right click menu) into the content box backstage.

NEWEST HOTFIX FOR PROPER BACKSTAGE FORMATTING!

This is the easiest one yet.

Write your segments or matches in a google document without html.

Add your formatting via the WYSIWYG editor.

Copy everything. Log into the DEF Backstage.

This is where the magic happens.

Click on Post a Roleplay.

Paste your entire match or segment in as usual (without "as plain text").

Select the entire selection.

There is a dropdown menu in the scripts WYSIWYG editor that says Normal.

Click that, scroll down and select Normal (DIV). This will properly format your match/segment.

Select the whole thing again and copy it.

Go back to the Home page of the script.

Go to Submit Match/Segment as usual.

Paste in as usual (without "as plain text")

Click Submit.

Boom goes the dynamite.
