Well, I got through Night One in time for Night Two, which was my goal.
I have to say, thank God for Miles/Mayfield on this card. It really gave the show the epic feel that I thought it needed. Oftentimes with "two-night" events I think way too much emphasis is placed on the second night as the finale and the first night as the warm-up, and while I think to a degree that's still true in this case, the sheer volume and heinousness (is that a word?) of Miles/Mayfield, along with the swerve at the end (which I agree with Tom was masterful) really helped Night One stand on its own. I also thought the warm-up to the match was a great summation of some of the characters' highlights and storyline turns leading up to this, and really helped me as a non-informed reader to understand just how deep this feud runs...or ran.
Seeing the free-for-all tag mayhem just made me happy, mostly because of the appearance of the Rogues but also just because it appears that the tag division will be quite hot come NFW 3.0's kickstart, and ain't a damn thing wrong with that. Renner has been a huge part of PRIME's tag resurgence, and if he has the same effect here with the writers assembling to help out, and if the Professionals are really actually going to be a tag team, then I think the tag division will really be competing with the singles for attention, and I haven't seen that happen...in ever.
Eli/Ryan is another great addition to what will surely be a monumental show in the fed's history. I don't get to be Flair's last match like I thought, but everyone benefits as a result.
I wanna wrestle dangerous monkeys.
That is all.
