Hi all -

It's come to my attention that some people who were interested in the Wrestling! 2005 tourney and fed are looking for some idea of what's going on with the project. Things that I've heard from a few people are:

1. Wow, I can't find anything on the FWC forums about it. It was there one day and gone the next.

2. You need to get in touch with the W! members and tell them what's going on, I've gotten two people asking me about it in the last day.

3. Nothing's changed on the website in over a month.. what's up?

Ok, well if people are interested, great.. but here's where we are right now and what happened with the tourney. I think I've stated some of this before on this forum and elsewhere but if people want to know and haven't found the other stuff I'll post it again.

A. The tourney didn't happen because of lack of communication. I think that there was a significant problem with getting email to people because of spam filters on hotmail and yahoo and the fact that I was using email lists to get mail to people. It's likely that notification mails that requested reply by a certain date were filtered by people's emails and I was left to believe that no one was interested.

B. As I stated on the FWC forums about a week or so before I removed the Wrestling! section, anyone who showed significant enough interest to follow the forum posts and still want to be a part of the tourney could redeem my invitation to join the fed when it opened. At no point in time was the opening of the fed dependent on the tourney. I just didn't know when the fed was going to open.

C. I have a much better idea of when the fed is going to be ready to open now. I still have a lot of writing to do, but that's better than having a bunch of writing, art and site coding to do. You can assume that site coding and art are handled and either completed or insanely close to being completed at this time.

Essentially all I need to do is get some rules up, get the information up for staff characters and find some interested people and we're a go. When I feel comfortable putting out some official "hey we're looking for people" statement, I will. Now is not that time. For personal reasons, I want Jolt to open and be on their feet before Wrestling! opens to the public. Gives me some time to work on things as well. Slow and steady.

That being said, I could open inside a few days and that would be the stupidest thing I could imagine doing. February looks nice and March looks better. I do realize though that the longer we wait, the less likely we'll have any interest at all, so some sense of urgency is present.

If anyone wants to ask questions, just PM me on the board.

Thanks
Al
