GHEORGHE: “There we can see the scaffold… three feet wide, and hanging some FORTY FEET above the surface of the Atlantic Ocean! Boy, those waves look fierce… the one that walks THIS plank and takes a dip is going to be in for one hell of a swim.”
JULIUS: “I’ll be honest… I’m kinda hoping the scaffold just snaps in half and a huge ass Jaws-shark swallows the both of them. That, or they drown.”
GHEORGHE: “The United States Coast Guard has rescue boats nearby to pick anybody going overboard to take back to the main land. It looks like John Doe’s already set in place and ready for a fight…”
(The voice of Carl Jacobs resonates through the ship’s arena.)
JACOBS: “Ladies and gentlemen… presenting our next event for the evening: A special WALK THE PLANK Scaffold Match! Introducing first… from whereabouts unknown, and weighing in at 210 pounds… HERE IS… JOHN … DOE!!
(SFX: The fans JEER as Doe, looking straight into one of the cameras on the deck, flips the bird. “Gently” by Slipknot begins to play. The camera pans over to the side, where the next entrant can be seen approaching.)
JACOBS: “And his opponent… from Phoenix, Arizona… weighing in at 185 pounds… she is the DARK PHENOM… NAKITA DAHAKA!!”
(SFX: More JEERS from the audience as the figure of Nakita Dahaka becomes apparent. She approaches the opening in the rail where a small plank leads over to the scaffold. Taking off her trench coat and handing it over to Delilah, she lithely crosses over to the scaffold. Crew members pull back the connecting plank, stranding the two on the scaffold hanging over the ocean. The boat rocks a bit, and both competitors shift to keep their balance.)
GHEORGHE: “It’s very dangerous out there on that scaffold. This isn’t like you’re typical scaffold match, where you only have to consider the minimized mobility and the threat of dropping from a dangerous height. When that scaffolds attached to a BOAT that’s known to sway back and forth, balance becomes an issue.”
JIVE: “Man, that Dahaka chick really has it going on. She’s hot in a Suicide Girls sort of way.”
JULIUS: “She might be putting that title to the test in a match like this.”
(SFX: A nearby bell is rung and the two slowly advance on each other.)
GHEORGHE: “There’s the bell… no turning back now! Dahaka and Doe coming forward… and Dahaka delivers a HOOK KICK that causes Doe to back away! She’s got a definitely reach advantage…”
JIVE: “Yeah… tall chicks… HOT!!”
JULIUS: “You’d fuck anything that had a hole and two legs on it.”
GHEORGHE: “Dahaka SPRINGS forward… and Doe can’t back away this time, and gets PUT onto his back with a standing dropkick! Doe is left dazed on the scaffold, and Dahaka quickly gets up and puts a BOOT into his gut for extra effect!”
JULIUS: “Any lower, and we’d be seeing a CHICK fight.”
GHEORGHE: “Dahaka bringing Doe back to his feet… delivers a EUROPEAN uppercut that spins him around! She takes him around the waits and FLIPS HIM OVER with a German Suplex! She keeps the hold locked in and goes for a second… but Doe LANDS ON HIS FEET!”
JIVE: “That bitch is in trouble now!”
GHEORGHE: “ But Dahaka with a BACK HEEL KICK catches John Doe in the face before he can take advantage! Doe REELING on the edge of that scaffold… but he quickly steadies himself and comes back at Dahaka with a right hook—and Dahaka just PARRIES it, following with a knee to the gut… and a BACKBREAKER to go with it!”
JULIUS: “Doe isn’t looking too good out there. He’s normally got a lot of speed and tenacity in the ring, but out on a scaffold, it looks like it’s a different story…”
GHEORGHE: “Dahaka, meanwhile, is right in her element… she grabs Doe by the head, sits down behind him, and locks in a SLEEPER HOLD! What’s she going for here?”
JULIUS: “She can’t win by tap out, but it’s damn hard to keep yourself up there on a scaffold when you’re asleep.”
JIVE: “She can put any hold on me. But the minute she opens her mouth about FATE and DARKNESS and SHADOW and that shit… yeah, back to the doghouse with her. Plenty of fish in the sea. She might come to find that out, literally.”
GHEORGHE: “The way she’s controlling this match, I doubt it, Nick. Dahaka has the sleeper in place, and Doe’s not putting up much of a fight… I think he’s fading out!”
JULIUS: “I think you’re right. It looks like his eyes are fluttering… and… yeah, he’s OUT like Nick springing from the closet.”
JIVE: “Why in the hell would I be in the… oh, SHUT UP, Dean!”
GHEORGHE: “Dahaka has Doe incapacitated… and she DUMPS HIM off the side—BUT WAIT!! John Doe, in his last FLEETING second of consciousness, shoots out his arm and catches the bottom of the scaffold! MY GOD, he’s dangling FORTY FEET above the crashing waves of the ocean beneath him! His fingers are all that keeps him from taking the ultimate plunge!”
(SFX: Audience OOHs in exhilaration!)
JULIUS: “Bet a good whiff of sea salt woke him right up…”
GHEORGHE: “Dahaka’s trying to capitalize… and now she’s trying to stamp down onto Doe’s fingers! I don’t know how much longer he can hold out, but—OH WAIT!!”
(Without warning, the ship lurches over a particularly large wave, causing Dahaka to suddenly teeter off balance and go tumbling over the OTHER edge of the scaffold! The audience POPS as she clutches onto the edge and hangs on for dear life!)
GHEORGHE: “And JOHN DOE gets an AMAZING stroke of luck! Dahaka got knocked off balance when the ship pitched the wrong way! Doe’s gotta make his move now!”
JULIUS: “Don’t need to tell him twice… he’s back up quicker than you can say ‘Greased Lightning’.”
JIVES: “…GREASED LIGHT—”
JULIUS: “You’re too late, Nick. He’s up now.”
JIVE: “Aww.”
GHEORGHE: “And now JOHN DOE has the advantage, standing over Nakita Dahaka! He’s trying to pry her fingers off the edge of the scaffold! And now Dahaka’s hanging ONE-HANDED! Doe’s stamping down on her remaining fingers… but—WOW!!”
(SFX: The crowd OOHS! as Dahaka, in a stunning display of agility, swings her free arm to the other side of the scaffold and regains her grip. Doe looks over the edge, thinking she’s fallen… when he’s suddenly nearly KNOCKED OFF as Dahaka rolls back onto the scaffold and knocks into him from behind!)
JIVE: “HOW DID SHE DO THAT?!”
GHEORGHE: “Nakita Dahaka, with AMAZING desperation, has found her way back onto the scaffold!”
JULIUS: “She must’ve played on the monkey bars a lot as a kid.”
JIVE: “She can swing on MY bar all night long!”
JULIUS: “I don’t think your bar could support an amazon like that…”
JIVE: “It supported YO MAMA the other night!”
JULIUS: “WHY YOU—!!”
GHEORGHE: “Back to the match, guys! Dahaka back on her feet, and Doe’s regained his balance… they step forward and lock up! Doe overpowers and slaps on a side headlock… but Dahaka breaks away with a couple of shots to the kidneys! She shoves Doe forward and hits him with a BULLDOG that smashes his face into the scaffold!”
JULIUS: “John Doe is getting SCHOOLED out there!”
JIVE: “You piss off women, and they get even. Crap, didn’t you guys learn anything from WRESTLESTOCK? That’s why I just fuck ‘em and leave ‘em.”
JULIUS: “Right… I’m sure that wouldn’t piss them off in the slightest.”
GHEORGHE: “Dahaka brings Doe to his feet and now she’s leading him to the edge! Dahaka looking for a hiptoss—but Doe GOUGES her eyes and knocks her away! Dahaka drops to a knee… and Doe runs back for some distance! He springs forward and goes for the SHINING WIZARD—but Dahaka NAILS HIM WITH A FIST to the groin!”
(SFX: Crowd OOHs in pain!)
JIVE: “Damn… on second thought, I don’t want ANYTHING from that jewel-busting broad.”
GHEORGHE: “Doe drops to his knees, and Dahaka has him right where she wants him… she leaps to his shoulders and FLIPS HIM OVER with a HURRICANRANA—AND SHE JUST SENT HIM FLAILING OFF THE SCAFFOLD!!”
(SFX: *THUD!!*)
GHEORGHE: “OH MY GOD!! He hit the SIDE OF THE SHIP on his way down!”
(SFX: *SPLASH!!*)
GHEORGHE: “And JOHN DOE HAS WALKED THE PLANK!! This match is OVER!”
(SFX: The bell RINGS three times and the crowd jeers as Nakita Dahaka stands victorious on the scaffold.)
JACOBS: “Here is your winner… ‘the Dark Phenom’ NAKITA … DAHAKA!!”
(The plank crosses over to the scaffold, and Dahaka comes back onto the deck. She begrudgingly tosses a lifesaver down to Doe, who flops around in the water below. A wave suddenly swallows him, and when he resurfaces, he is noticeably gagging and clutching the round flotation device for dear life. Rescue divers from the coast guard boats quickly jump into the water and go to his position.)
GHEORGHE: “Looks like John Doe is going to be okay… but when you consider the humiliation—and that HIT he took on the way down—you just know he can’t be sleeping well tonight.”
JULIUS: “Looks like Dahaka’s added a page to her book of fate, or whatever the hell she babbles about on a weekly basis.”
GHEORGHE: “Quite a victory for Nakita Dahaka over her former partner. She absolutely outwrestled John Doe in every way possible.”
JIVE: “FLAWLESS VICTORY! Shang Tsung salutes Nakita Dahaka!”
GHEORGHE: “We’re already about halfway through tonight’s pay per view .. and we’ve still got TONS of matches to go .. including the match between The Phantom Republican and Shawn Hart to see who will face the World Heavyweight champion at New ERA’s LIVE from… show!”
JIVE: “GOP’s already defeated Rabesque here tonight .. why not Hart, too?”
JULIUS: “Shutup! Both of you, stop! I have just heard that somehow Jennifer Harding has with her one of New ERA’s most promising young stars. I’ve seen this kid in action .. and let me tell you… he’s a real steal.”
(CUTTO: An exquisite Jennifer Harding standing near the crowd barrier ringside, her left hand rests on a man's shoulder. Said man is positioned on the opposing side of the obstruction. The handsome, tan gentleman is outfitted in a buttoned down, white dress shirt, khaki slacks, and a tight fitting, brown surfer's necklace. He wets his lips leaning in towards Ms. Harding in order to hear over the spectator's clamor.)
HARDING: "Jennifer Harding here, and standing alongside me is Kelly Masters, New ERA of Wrestling's fresh new face who also came to watch BANNED in the U.S. Kelly, what is your impression so far?"
(He leans slightly closer to the microphone in Harding's grasp.)
MASTERS: "Well Jennifer, it's always fun to go watch a wrestling show, and tonight is no exception. We've already had several exciting, fast paced matches, and I can only assume the remainder will be just as good, or better."
HARDING: "What made you interested in New ERA, Kelly?"
(He flashes a pearly white smirk.)
MASTERS: "The talent, competition, and drive to assemble a productive wrestling show. I got the feeling that New ERA had a little extra … an intangible that a lot of other promotions are lacking. So what better place to continue my wrestling career?"
(Jennifer nods her head in agreement also flashing a dazzling smile.)
HARDING: "Very quickly, are there any New ERA superstars you look up to? And whom would you enjoy stepping into the ring with?"
(Grimacing slightly, he runs his right hand down his jaw line.)
MASTERS: "Look up to? No. Respect? Yes, one man. He just so happens to be competing for your World Heavyweight Championship tonight … Tact. Straight shooter, calls 'em as he sees 'em. The man has such will and desire to succeed. Step into the ring with a person like him, and see if you can walk out with your arm raised in victory. In wrestling, that's how you test yourself."
(He pauses only slightly, but quickly continues.)
MASTERS: "As for competition, it makes no difference to me who I encounter. I can say I'm very much so looking forward to contending here in New ERA, and hopefully that opportunity arises sooner rather than later..”
HARDING: "Thanks Kelly, I'll let you get back to watching PPV action.”
(Masters mouths "Thanks,” apparently the audio feed is gone. A quick peck on the cheek for Jennifer, and he finds his seat again.)
