(FADEIN: Backstage as we see Jason Tripp standing as Alister Hayze is sitting in a folding chair.)
TRIPP: “I’m backstage here with Alister Hayze, one half of the main event tables match here tonight at RAUCOUS. Alister, how do you think you’re going to fare in this kind of a hardcore match?”
HAYZE: “First of all, man, hardcore is not a match type. It’s an attitude. I don’t care how many weapons you throw into a match, they’re all just gimmicks. It’s the guys in the match that make it hardcore. That being said, Travis you think you’re hardcore? You think you know how to bring it? I think you’re just being a little too.. hm, shall we say, reflective? You’re too busy thinking about the horrible things you’ve gone through in the past, be it that glass plate you got put through, or what John Doe did to you during your last appearance. It doesn’t matter what you’re thinking about, man. It doesn’t matter what happened. You think that you’ve had it rough? Ashe Draven took a Backdrop Driver that broke his neck. At the time, no one thought he’d ever return to wrestling… and honestly, I haven’t seen him around lately. I took the same move, from the same man, onto a bed of thumbtacks, and I was up and moving two minutes later. I nearly died a little bit before that.. But none of that matters now. What matters is the tables match tonight. What matters is you… and me.”
TRIPP: “So, you really think that you have an edge over Travis Smith here tonight?”
HAYZE: “Hell yes. He’s all over the place, man. He’s worried about getting your comeuppance on John Doe. He’s worried about proving himself, about using his main event spot to go places. You don’t seem to get it, Travis. This is THE place to be. This is the main event. Where the hell else are you expecting to go? You think that the world of wrestling has forgotten you, after a few short weeks, and that you’ll never get up to that highest pinnacle again. Just a few weeks, and you’re sure it has all gone away. Flown the coop. Taken off and left you in the proverbial dust. I’ve been gone for years. Nothing makes stock plummet faster than a sudden disappearance, and I did one hell of a sudden disappearance. But I’m not shaking, and I’m not really worried about showing the world what they’ve forgotten. They’ll see it, trust me. No matter what else happens, everyone in the world knows that Alister Hayze makes any show something to see.”
TRIPP: “Well, you certainly seem confident tonight.”
HAYZE: “Absolutely. And you know what? I think that’s where Travis’ problems lie. Confidence. He lacks the right sense of self-esteem for this business. I mean -- if you’re that scared that you aren’t gonna be good enough for the fans…how good could you possibly be? I know that they’ll be cheering for me. I know it. I know that I’ll wow them. I’ll show them something new, something exciting… something they’ll love. I know it. And you, Travis? You’re going to be too busy doubting yourself to do a damn thing. Tonight….”
(Hayze stands, smiling cockily.)
HAYZE: “It’s all about me.”
(CUTTO: Ringside.)
JIVE: “Jason Tripp already trying to cut into my TV time .. and its not even RAPTURE yet!”
GHEORGHE: “Alister Hayze is very confident that he can make it past ‘Too Sweet’ Travis Smith here in tonight’s main event … a tables match! Some very strong words … and another match that has had some strong words, and even some history behind it, is the tag team match coming up between the teams of Alex Borden and John Doe against Troy Douglas and Jonathan Marx..”
JIVE: “Now my question is .. which team implodes first? Will Borden and Doe, who fought to a double countout in the #1 Contenders to the Television Championship match breakdown … or will Douglas and Marx, who had problems with the Survivor Six Man Tag, and then fought at the pay per view, break first?”
GHEORGHE: “I’m not sure, Nick … but lets find out!”
(CUTTO: Rampway as the lineup for the match comes on the screen.)
JACOBS: “The following TAG TEAM MATCH is scheduled for one fall … and has a FORTY-FIVE minute time limit …. Introducing first…”
(CUEUP: ‘The Touch’ by Stan Bush. ‘Gentleman’ Jonathan Marx makes his way to the ring.)
JACOBS: “Hailing from Princeton, New Jersey … standing 6 foot 2 ad weighing 215 pounds …… ‘GENTLEMAN’ JONATHAN MARX!”
JIVE: “What is this? No combined entrance.. haha .. this is even better than I thought.”
(CUEUP: ‘Kashmir’ by Led Zepplin as the fans pop. Troy Douglas makes his way to the ring, staring at Marx the entire way down.)
JACOBS: “And his partner … from Greensboro, North Carolina … he stands six foot five and weighs 265 pounds ……… TROY DOUGLAS!”
GHEORGHE: “Douglas staying in one corner while Marx is in the second..”
JACOBS: “And their opponents…”
(CUEUP: ‘When Worlds Collide’ by Powerman 5000 as John Doe makes his way to the ring amidst blue lights.)
JACOBS: “He stands six foot one … and weighs 205 pounds ……….. JOHN DOE!”
(CUEUP: ‘Run Like Hell’ by Kittie. Alex Borden and Greg Birel stand on the rampway, as Borden looks down in disgust at Doe.)
JACOBS: “And his partner … led to the ring by Greg Birel … he hails from Cleveland, Ohio … ALEX BORDEN!”
(SFX: Bell rings.)
GHEORGHE: “Borden and Marx are going to start things off it seems as Troy Douglas stepped between the ropes without saying a single word..”
JIVE: “Marx shot him a look … and they’re going to have to show a little less contempt for each other .. especially in front of Borden and Doe, if they want to try to win this.”
GHEORGHE: “Marx and Borden circling each other … Borden goes for the leg of Marx … but Marx dodges …. Marx behind Borden …. Locks him … AND DRIVES HIM TO THE MAT WITH A RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP! Jonathan Marx quickly to his feet as Borden gets up holding his face ….. AND MARX TAKES BORDEN DOWN WITH A DROP TOE HOLD! Marx floats over him and locks in the side headlock!”
JIVE: “Marx is a sound technical wrestler .. I think he’s trying to prove to everyone in the ring that he’s the best of them all. Especially to Douglas, who he beat at the pay per view.”
GHEORGHE: “Borden using his strength to get to his knees … he elbows Marx in the stomach … but Marx grips harder on the headlock … AND BORDEN LOCKS THE WAIST AND TAKES MARX BACK WITH A SIDE SUPLEX!”
JIVE: “Borden might have a strong boxing background, but Greg Birel has definitely conditioned him into a fine wrestler.”
GHEORGHE: “Alex Borden to his feet … he takes Marx by the head … hooks the tights .. and takes him over with a suplex! John Doe now calling over to Borden to tag him in … AND BORDEN SHAKES HIS HEAD NO!”
JIVE: “And look at that idiot Doe! He’s coming into the ring anyway!”
GHEORGHE: “The referee is over to stop Doe from entering the ring … AND DOUGLAS RUNS IN ON THE OTHER SIDE!! Borden smiling as Doe is being told to get back into his corner …. AND TROY DOUGLAS GRABS THE HEAD OF ALEX BORDEN …. AND HITS A REVERSE DDT!!! Douglas slides under the bottom rope as the referee turns around and sees Borden on the mat .. and Marx getting to his feet!”
JIVE: “Doe is a pain in the ass! First he costs Borden his shot at the Television title .. now he’s BLATANTLY trying to cost him the match here tonight!”
GHEORGHE: “I don’t think its blatant.. but Marx grabs Borden and brings him to his feet … and now Marx tags in Douglas!”
JIVE: “I think as much as these two disagree, they don’t want to lose. I mean, think of how embarrassing it would be to have a loss to John Doe!”
GHEORGHE: “Marx holding Borden in a abdominal stretch … AND DOUGLAS IS REPEATEDLY JABBING BORDEN IN THE RIBS! The referee now breaks it up and is telling Marx to get in his corner. Troy Douglas taking Alex Borden …. Irish whips him right back into the corner …. And Douglas charges in and hits an elbow in the jaw of Borden!”
JIVE: “Marx and Douglas are working together better than I originally thought they would.”
GHEORGHE: “Douglas now placing some boots into the midsection of Borden …. BUT BORDEN CHARGES OUT OF THE CORNER AND TAKES DOUGLAS DOWN WITH A CLOTHESLINE!”
JIVE: “Jesus Christ, I think Douglas’ head just rolled out of the ring!”
GHEORGHE: “Alex Borden now trying to get to his feet …. And he’s going for the tag!”
JIVE: “BUT DOE JUST JUMPED OFF THE APRON AND IS TYING HIS BOOT!”
GHEORGHE: “Alex Borden is in his corner … but Doe is on the ground! Borden is yelling at Doe to get over to him …. DOUGLAS WITH A ROLL UP! ONE ……. TWO ……. KICKOUT!”
JIVE: “And now look at Doe .. he’s acting as if he finally heard what Borden was saying!”
GHEORGHE: “Greg Birel is now over to Doe and telling him he better keep his head in the match…”
JIVE: “That’s like talking to a wall.”
GHEORGHE: “Douglas up … and he drops the leg on Borden. Douglas now dragging Alex Borden over to the corner … and Troy Douglas tags in Jonathan Marx!”
JIVE: “Marx getting a nice little breather.. and he’s ready to do more damage!”
GHEORGHE: “Marx picking up Borden and placing him in the corner now ….. and Marx hitting Borden with some hard knife edge chops!”
CROWD: “Wooooooooo! Wooooooooooo! Wooooooooo!”
GHEORGHE: “Marx hooking the arms of Borden ….. MARX WITH A DOUBLE ARM SUPLEX … BUT BORDEN BLOCKS IT! Borden hooking the bottom rope with his leg and Marx can’t get him over! Marx releases the arms and clocks Borden in the head with a right hook.”
JIVE: “One thing I wouldn’t want to do is trade blows with Alex Borden…”
GHEORGHE: “AND BORDEN POPS HIM RIGHT BACK! Marx goes down to the mat! Alex Borden now with an uppercut! And another one! Alex Borden picks up Jonathan Marx … BACKBREAKER…. Now Alex Borden runs over to John Doe …. AND HE TAGS HIM IN BEFORE DOE CAN DROP TO THE ARENA FLOOR!”
JIVE: “But Marx is on the mat … I don’t want Doe in the ring when he can get the advantage!”
GHEORGHE: “Doe runs in the ring and covers Marx ….. ONE …… TW—KICKOUT by Marx. John Doe now at the feet of Jonathan Marx … AND HE’s TRYING TO GET A SHARPSHOOTER ON HIM! John Doe turns Marx around …. AND ITS LOCKED ON! Jonathan Marx however quickly grabs the ropes and the referee forces John Doe to release the hold!”
JIVE: “What an idiot … a sharpshooter right next to the ropes?!”
GHEORGHE: “Doe picks up Jonathan Marx … he sends him into the ropes … Doe ducks his head …. Marx hopping over Doe though …. Marx to the other side ….. BUT ALEX BORDEN WITH A KNEE RIGHT INTO THE BACK OF JONATHAN MARX!!! Marx falls to the mat as John Doe turns around.”
JIVE: “If it weren’t for Alex Borden, Doe would have been creamed… he should be worshipping the ground Borden walks on!”
GHEORGHE: “John Doe now over to Jonathan Marx ….. he picks up Marx …. Doe with the tag to Borden and he is telling him to go up top!”
JIVE: “Finally, teamwork from both teams!”
GHEORGHE: “But BORDEN REFUSES! Borden in the ring …. AND HE TOSSES JOHN DOE THROUGH THE ROPES!!!! Alex Borden turns …. MARX WITH A KICK TO THE GUT!!! SMALL PACKAGE ….. ONE ……….. TWO ………. KICKOUT BY ALEX BORDEN!”
JIVE: “While I am extremely happy to see John Doe being tossed around like a rag doll, I don’t think it was wise to do with Marx already on his feet..”
GHEORGHE: “Both men up …. AND BORDEN GRABS MARX ….. Snap DDT!! Alex Borden is now walking over to the corner …. Borden perched on the second rope ….. AND HE DROPS THE FLYING FIST INTO THE HEAD OF MARX! Alex Borden with the cover …. ONE ….. TWO …. And Douglas runs in and breaks up the count!”
JIVE: “The referee is not happy with Douglas as he is berating him …. AND JOHN DOE SLIDES INTO THE RING! Doe turns Borden around … AND NOW HE IS GETTING IN THE FACE OF ALEX BORDEN!”
GHEORGHE: “Jonathan Marx is using this as a chance to crawl over to his corner … AND JOHN DOE JUST PUSHED ALEX BORDEN!”
JIVE: “Marx is almost there!”
GHEORGHE: “HOLY HELL… ALEX BORDEN JUST NAILED JOHN DOE IN THE SIDE OF THE HEAD WITH A LEFT FIST … and Doe goes to the mat …. MARX TAGS IN DOUGLAS!”
JIVE: “Douglas runs over with a full head of steam!”
GHEORGHE: “AND HE CATCHES BORDEN BEFORE HE CAN TURN AROUND! Douglas hooks him … release German Suplex!!! Troy Douglas gets up … and now he locks on a Dragon Sleeper in the middle of the ring!!! Alex Borden can’t reach any ropes …. AND DOUGLAS HAS IT LOCKED!”
JIVE: “All Douglas has to do is keep it on for a minute or two and Borden will be out!”
GHEORGHE: “Borden is fading fast!! BUT WAIT!! JOHN DOE IS BACK TO HIS FEET… Doe is climbing up top……… JOHN DOE WITH A FLYING CROSS BODY FROM THE TOP ROPE AND HE TAKES DOWN BOTH DOUGLAS AND BORDEN!”
JIVE: “I don’t even know who he was aiming for!!”
GHEORGHE: “The referee is now forcibly moving Doe back to his corner … and Doe JUST SPAT AT ALEX BORDEN! Troy Douglas is up … and now he is picking up Borden… Douglas drops down to his knees and nails Borden with an uppercut! FIREMAN’s CARRY by Douglas … and now he is straddling Borden and hitting him with lefts and rights ….”
JIVE: “Marx is about 50 pounds lighter than Douglas .. so Douglas’ blows will have a bit more oomph to them when they hit Borden!”
GHEORGHE: “Troy Douglas is up now … and Jonathan Marx is calling him to tag him in! But Douglas is ignoring him! JONATHAN MARX IN THE RING … AND HE TURNS DOUGLAS TO FACE HIM! AND NOW THEY’re ARGUING!”
JIVE: “But Borden is getting his chance!”
GHEORGHE: “Borden in his corner … and he tags in Doe …. Doe looks as Douglas and Marx are arguing …. Borden is now standing on the outside …. AND DOE ACTING AS IF HE WERE TO BOUNCE OFF THE ROPES JUST KNOCKED BORDEN ON TO THE ARENA FLOOR!!”
JIVE: “What a bastard!”
GHEORGHE: “Marx has gone back into his corner ….. AND DOE HEADING TOWARDS DOUGLAS …. BUT DOUGLAS WITH A DROP TOE HOLD! Douglas now stomping on the back of John Doe …. Douglas picking Doe up …. IRISH WHIP BY DOUGLAS …. Douglas against the ropes as well …. WAIT! Jonathan Marx just slapped Douglas on the back! Douglas WITH A FLYING FOREARM ON JOHN DOE AND HE IS MAKING THE COVER!”
JIVE: “But the referee is saying that Marx is the legal man!”
GHEORGHE: “Troy Douglas gets up ….. AND HE CAN’T BELIEVE IT! DOUGLAS AND MARX ARE STANDING FACE TO FACE ….. MARX PUSHES DOUGLAS ….. AND DOUGLAS COMES BACK WITH A RIGHT FIST!”
JIVE: “Here we go!”
GHEORGHE: “Both men are duking it out in the middle of the ring … the referee doesn’t know what to do!”
JIVE: “Look at Doe!”
GHEORGHE: “DOE GOT TO HIS FEET …. AND NOW HE IS CLIMBING THE TURNBUCKLE!!!! JOHN DOE IS PERCHED ATOP THE TOP ROPE!”
JIVE: “Borden is in the ring!”
GHEORGHE: “ALEX BORDEN IS IN FRONT OF DOE …… BORDEN GRABS DOE ….. OH MY! ALEX BORDEN JUST LAUNCHED JOHN DOE FROM THE TOP ROPE …….. BUT DOE LANDS ON TOP OF BOTH DOUGLAS AND MARX!!!!!! THE REF GOES DOWN FOR THE COVER!!!”
JIVE: “What?!?”
GHEORGHE: “ONE ………. TWO …………. THREE!! I can’t believe it!!! Alex Borden was trying to launch Doe onto the mat … and I don’t even think he realized both Douglas and Marx were in the middle of the ring!!!”
(SFX: Bell rings.)
JACOBS: “The winner of this match …. Via pinfall…… the team of JOHN DOE and ALEX BORDEN!”
GHEORGHE: “Marx rolling out of the ring … AND HE LOOKS PISSED! Jonathan Marx is storming up the rampway … and I think I can tell what words are coming out of his mouth…”
JIVE: “Let’s see …. This piece of sh.. What? Motherfuc.. wait … that’s not very gentlemanly!”
GHEORGHE: “Douglas making his way to the back … AND DOE AND BORDEN ARE FIGHTING IN THE CENTER OF THE RING!! Alex Borden repeatedly punching John Doe in the face …… AND HE TAKES HIM TO THE MAT ….. ALEX BORDEN LOCKS ON THE CHOKE OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!! Greg Birel is in the ring … and he’s cheering him on!”
