THE HISTORY OF

THE ALL-PRO WRESTLING

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

FEBRUARY 28th, 2005 - JULY 15th, 2006

All-Pro Wrestling was founded in early 2005 by Eric Bischoff (Dean Mason). The promotion was criticized from its inception for Bischoff's treatment of his competitors and always mired in controversy that never allowed the company to build any semblance of credibility. The promotion amassed great ratings in the early days, almost purely out of car crash value, but succumbed eventually to the sheer power of Solid Gold Wrestling and never recovered. All-Pro Wrestling closed its doors for the final time in mid-2006.

We include this world title history complete and uncut out of respect for the championship, the promotion, and the competitors who worked to make it what it is today. But not the owner.

November 21st, 2005 - When fan petitions and a significant drop in ratings forced Eric Bischoff to acknowledge that the Curt Hennig imposter was in bad taste, he stripped him of the APW World Championship and put it up in a battle royal after several months to determine who deserved to compete for it.
