When Realities and Dreams Aren't So Different Anymore
The alarm rang out and shot through my dreams, bringing me back to a reality that at one time I'd dreaded waking up to, and now come at with open arms. I rolled over in my half-asleep state and hugged the love of my life close to me, snaking my arm over her to shut off the alarm and get back that valuable sleeping time I had. Training could wait for one day... I earned this rest. It's over now, you know... the hunt to reach the mountaintop is over, but the journey's just beginning. "I love you, Suki... " I whispered, my smile slowly spreading across my face. Two dreams of mine... both have came true. My sleepy eyes gently lowered to her ring finger, where an engagement ring proudly twinkled in the small rays of morning sun which gently peirced the blinds on the window. Beside the alarm, the NLCW world title glinted lightly, reminding me of it's own presence. The impact of that night, even now, still leave me in a state of disbelief. I'd always believed to accomplish my dreams after a long struggle before the world, but I never realized that my travels in themselves was that struggling unwinding before all. The HWF was my qualifier to finally reach this height... and when I made it to the NLCW, it was only a matter of time. I just never thought... never thought it was be so sudden. I guess it was best that way. ... yeah, I guess it really was. |
