(FADEIN...
Absolute zen.
We're focused on my lady, Calico Rose herself, sitting in a grassy patch. Behind her, a small waterfall connects two streams, and a zen garden sits to her right. An incense burner is in front of her.
She is dressed in knee - length yoga pants and a tank top with the phrase BURN MY CROSSES on the front. Truly the best of both worlds.
Her legs are crossed in a meditative style, and her eyes are closed. For now.
And...)
"Greetings, Eric Dane. Namaste."
"Salutations and peace be with you."
She put her hands in front of her, palms up, in the universal sign of peace.
"I can sense your anger, Eric Dane. I can sense your rage and frustration. Your chi is unbalanced, and with that, feelings of confusion and misplaced blame are sure to follow."
"Relax. Listen to John Coltraine."
She took a deep, cleansing breath, and her body rose and fell with it.
"Your anger has been transposed onto Greg Herpin, known far and wide throughout the land as a far and even handed judge of wins and losses in the New Frontier. Greg Herpin, the true voice of justice, uncolored by his own aspirations for greatness."
"Greg Herpin, Bushido Samurai of the New Frontier."
With that, Rose put her hands together, as if in prayer.
"Free your mind, Eric Dane, and see the truth: you were not cheated."
"What you saw as a three count was a split second early; what you felt when Castor Strife turned around and pinned you was cosmic balance; karma righting itself from the imbalance that was created when you leaped over any opponent who may have earned that shot and took it for yourself."
"Naturally, as being a wrestler is your entire identity, your subconscious has been trying to protect your conscious mind from recognizing the fact that you were fairly disposed of in a way that has restored order to the universe."
"Isn't it a fact of life that you appreciate things more when you've earned them? If I was handed a hundred dollars tomorrow, I'd probably go out and spend it on frivolous things because I was lucky enough to get a hundred dollars. But a hundred that I earned? I'll remember every bit of work that went into it, and I'll be much more careful, thusly much more appreciative of everything that it gets me."
"I'm sure you'll earn a title shot again, you've been doing this for a really long time and you're bound to get at least one title shot during the course of your career that you've earned."
"In the New Frontier, that is. The one that matters."
We pulled back slightly as the music got proportionally louder.
"Being out for blood, as you put it, will not put you any closer to a title shot. Quite the contrary, you will be farther and farther away from the oneness with the New Frontier that is essential to proper leadership and one of the most important things to know about being a Champion."
Finally, she closed her eyes again, and returned her hands to her knees.
"I can feel the energies swirling within you, Eric Dane... your chi wants to be in balance but your ego refuses to let it. Fear us not. Be one with the New Frontier."
"Be one with the Universe."
"Namaste."
Fade out.
What, you wanted more?
Really?
