Are Show-based "VS." RP threads something to get rid of?

What if I started a Jack Bryant vs. JJ Deville thread or a Castor Ryan vs. Dan Ryan thread right now without a show title around it? No RP deadline until we know the show it's going on. Could be 2 week RP period, could be a month knowing us. ...However, it could give us a headstart on RP'ing for bigger matches/shows, which could possibly allow more preparation around writing the matches.

Just wondering since we need to go "one show at a time", but we have alot of matches on the horizon...if we should start re-examining the RELOADED/SUPERCRASH RP thread system.

THOUGHTS?

Whatever works for you. I think the current system works well, but this isn't a bad idea either. Also: Castor and Dan Ryan did not have a gay marriage, damn it.

If Eric Dane had an obvious opponent I'm sure a thread would go up.

In this case, it's a no-brainer that JJ vs. JB and Castor vs. Ryan are signed for some point in the immediate future so Biron/Gregg/Billy/Brunk shouldn't have to wait for RP that 'counts.'

Point of order, Billy and I RP'd against each other before the thread for the World Title finals in NFW Films. I thought those two RPs were better than the ones in the thread but they didn't 'officially' count.

What about people who aren't in specific feuds? Will there be an Eric Dane vs the World thread?

Would that be Stalker's World? Or some other world that I am unaware of?

You're only saying that cause those RPs were better than mine!

Jeez. That's meta.

A fictional world inside the mind of a fictional character who exists in a fictional world?

Fictionally delusional!

As for the subject at hand, it's an intriguing idea. I'd say it warrants at least a trial period.

To answer Justin's question...

In my head another possible example could also be a Lowell vs. Jack Harmen. It wouldn't be an open contract type of setup, but rather anticipated matches through storylines or developed thru the NFW Challenges RP sub-forum that have to wait due to the one show at a time schedule structure.

Upon reflection, I think it's something that could be organically done, and be a useful tool of integrating things together.

Integration and Interactivity are too features that you can't miss with if you pull them off right.

I wouldn't jump into a completely new setup, though, I'd add things and see what works and go from there.

When it's called for, why not reveal it? It can put some of that energy that handlers occasionally have for that "ready to write but i don't even know what's happening next" scenario. i don't know if this really needs a change in policy so much as case by case short evaluation. "would it help if i opened this up now? yes? okay, here you go!"
