Pat, the more they say they don't want Nakita Dubov, the more I think...they really want Dubov.

Give them the Dubov.

I appreciate that, I really do and maybe perhaps you could be right. But I think that my time playing Nakita (Whether DuBov or Dahaka has already come and one) Maybe I am wrong, but Nakita was part of my last generation of characters that came in that time. Go-Go represents the new generation of my characters and again there is the symbolic metaphor of me wanting to play this character at a time whenever I began watching pro wrestling again back in 1998 with that cruiserweight match on WCW Monday Nitro.

But a possibility, maybe I could play with the notion of Nakita and Go-Go as a tag team. Kind of like the mentor and the student type formula. Nakita being the wise veteran and Go-Go being the up and coming rising star rookie who has so much promise and potential but just needs someone to show her the way.

Could that be an idea?

I guess I am thinking out loud.

I will no-vote any thought of Dubov or Dahaka or whatever her name is this week being written instead of, or alongside, Go-Go now or in the future.

DEFIANCE has a trios division anyway.

(And no, that was not a suggestion to bring in DahakaBov's manager as the third member.)

It's Go-Go or No-Go from me. Let's also take into account that we've got Mary-Lynn Mayweather coming in soon with Team V.I.A.G.R.A. who has the same deal going on as Go-Go with the "plucky, inexperienced face" approach and who is already working with one of her mentors/trainers (Harmen) in said team.

I understand you're spit-balling ideas here. I am trying, against my better judgment, to keep you focused on this one thing. Like Ken said, the character concept is interesting. Don't start chasing shiny objects.

2 people are a yes, the rest of everyone else is on the fence/maybe. Anyone else want to weigh in so we can get this thread back on track?

EDIT: I thought about it and I will change my non-committal stance to a "no."

Also, one more comment for Patrick: I find it odd that you've gone out of your way to tell Angel's full backstory and real name, and yet you want to saddle her with a fairly ridiculous (not to mention un-lucha-sounding) ring name like Go-Go Spectacular. Why not just go with "Latina Fire" Angel Ramirez?

I would agree with this, not because I don't like the name Go-Go Spectacular, as it's campy in ALL the right ways. Unless her entrances included clowns coming out of a Volkswagen Beetle and her riding out on an elephant that is also holding the world's largest sparkler in its trunk, and the elephant also interfered on her behalf in matches -- using her "real name" is probably the better way to go. Go-Go Spectacular is not a name for a serious-y character.

Essentially, this is really my way of saying tweak the character to have an elephant as her manager or change the name. But I am still a yes regardless.

I was just thinking that all the character needs is a Joey Melton-esque entrance to really bring it all home...

Man, fuck y'all, I like the name Go-Go Spectacular. Besides, here's a point you all seem to be missing. This character comes in as Go-Go, gets going, finds a good program with a heel after HF has a been here for a spell to work it out and get over, then drops a match to said heel where the mask is on the line, then becomes "Latin Fire" Angel Ramirez.

Long term planning, yo.

Win-win situations for the win-win.

Also, he hides his bad spelling and grammar by intentionally misspelling her name for at LEAST two arcs. Then she disappears ala Cactus Jack in 1993 WCW, and Kevin Sullivan finds "Go-Go Spectacluar" and brings her back as "Go-Go Spectacular", free of dangling participles!

Patrick, will you just slip Justin a 20 spot already so you can start writing? I'm not even in this league, but watching you fumble at the door while security checks the list for your name is giving me a headache. BRIBE THE MAN.

Someone needs to write a high carb diet advocate fitness guru character whose finish is "Gluten for Punishment" --- right now.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to be the bad guy and just vote no.

Patrick you're a good guy, and I really hate voting no when you're saying you're willing to work so hard to do what we want, but I'm just not getting a sense that you'll be able to do any of this without extensive hand-holding. All your ideas have needed tweaking by staff, and after being specifically warned against making sloppy mistakes you've kept making them.

I'd like to suggest something here.

Patrick, I understand you really want to write somewhere and play the game again, but I think you still need to work some character tweaks out with Go-Go. It might be hard to do that with this fairly new character in a place where a lot has happened since you were last here. You'll be playing catch-up across two different fields which might lead to frustration and burn-out.

Maybe you can work out all that you need to in a place that's just about to start defining its own history? Maybe try giving her a go in RLW, get her established a bit, figure out exactly what direction you want to go at the same time as everyone else there because everyone's starting from square one. You can get back into the groove in what looks like a pretty laid-back environment and you can develop her story through RPs as well. Then maybe you give an angle fed a go once you're more confident with what you're working with and you'll have a more recent and relevant history with her too.

We'll take Go-Go if there's an app!

I understand completely and you are probably right, as I am trying to play catch up while trying to tell my story with Go-Go, trying to get with the Defiance way of playing. I think that you all are right that it would ultimately lead to frustration and burnout and obviously I don't want that.

I am trying to do my best to take into consideration everybody's suggestions and comments and implement them accordingly but then again for me it is a slow process and my old habits do die hard. And the last thing that I would want is to make an environment frustrating not just for myself but for all of those working with and even against me. I am such a GLUTTEN for punishment. Sheesh, leave off a simple T and everybody gives you a hard time over it (All in good fun though. I guess I did set myself up for that one.)

I will continue to heed everybody's advice and work on myself and Go-Go. Thank you for your time and hearing me out and allowing me to state my case. Maybe you will see me again.
