Just Wrestling presents: TOUR X - independent wrestlers invited to submit resumés
Here follows the in-character announcement that was made today:
As the announcement suggests, we are taking applications from anyone and everyone; we don't turn anybody away.
Also, if someone could unpin the March Madness! announcement in this forum, I'd be grateful - it is now, obviously, out of date
Here follows the in-character announcement that was made today:
ALBANY, NY - Just Wrestling is pleased to announce TOUR X. The tenth tour that the independent promotion has run since being founded by Tim Shipley in late 2008, TOUR X will take Just Wrestling across the country from Alamosa, CO to spiritual home in Albany, NY, the Washington Avenue Armory, over a three-week period. The tour will follow a similar format to that of March Madness!, with Jody Monroe at the reins of the promotion and Shipley still on extended leave for his GCW commitments.
Although no roster announcement was made, Monroe will be expected to provide the usual blend of proven international stars, bright young prodigies fresh from the wrestling schools, local heroes, and journeymen looking for their big break. With GCW's Jay Terror having finally relinquished the Just Wrestling Championship on the last tour following the longest reign in the belt's history, "Normal" John Johnson now looks to take Just Wrestling into a new era. The title win has already propelled the unassuming Buzzard's Bay man to fame, his recent appearance on GCW television a testament to that, but the true litmus test for Johnson's viability was his successful defence in a four-way match against The Back Alley Brawler, Anathkash Dakari and Mike Rossi - the very first time that the strap has been successfully defended in a match featuring more than two competitors. If Johnson can continue to fend off challengers so impressively he could become Just Wrestling's first self-made Champion of which the promotion can be truly proud - after Judas Crippen's problems with the law, Aaron Nothings' dalliances with drugs, and the inability of Erik Magnum and Peyote Jones to build on their short reigns.
Just Wrestling is taking applications from any and all independent wrestlers until 14 April. Interested parties should send a resumé with supporting video to Jody Monroe at the Just Wrestling offices in Albany, NY.
