WRESTLER INFORMATION:

Name: David Tui
Nicknames: The King, The Royal Warrior, The Kickin’ Ass King, The Punisher from the South Pacific, Fiji’s Fighting Son, The Great Hope,
The Fijian Phenomenon, the Tsunami of the Seven Seas

Height: 6’2”
Weight: 236 lbs.
Handedness: Left
Looks:
He is a dark skinned man, ripped and muscular in physique. He has black hair that is shaved on the sides but long on top and is worn in a set of braids tied together. He has a single ‘line’ of facial hair on his chin, thin and slim in shape and size. On his left arm, from the elbow to wrist, are tribal tattoos and some more on his back and chest. His left wrist has a tattoo outlining a flame. He has ice blue eyes, too.

Hailing From: (Originally)
Fiji / (Now resides) Hawaii

Disposition: Quiet, kind of mystical, all-business type who would much rather fight for fun than anything else. He walks that fine line of ‘Tweener,’ I guess. However, he has been known to be friendly and get jiggy wid it.
Gimmick:
Tui is a warrior at heart. In Fijian, Tui means King. He lets that go to his head, growing more and more confident each time he succeeds in the wrestling world. He is passionate, fierce, and always looking for the one up. He has a mean streak and has been known to unleash Hell on whoever needs the unleashing.

Ring Attire:
He wears a black, yellow, green, and red ceremonial skirt (like a kilt, but tribal, kind of like U of Hawaii’s green/black theme). He wears a black band on each one of his biceps. He also goes barefoot with white grip tape around his feet and ankles. His fingers and wrists have white tape on them, too.

Theme Music: “Bleed It Out” by
LinkinPark
Ring Entrance: Almost never comes out from the entrance ramp, but instead, through the crowd. He does it like Tim Duncan would do it, just raising his hands barely enough to slap hands with anybody and not getting too emotional, just makes his way to the ring through a crowd – so what? Most of his in-ring/surprise entrances come from the crowd, too.

Tactics/Style:
David is a high-flying, risk-taking, submissions expert with the ability to counter anything, anytime. He loves to make people tap out, showing his true dominance over his opponents. His focus is more on DDT & Suplex maneuvers, aside from the submissions arsenal. The best way to describe him is a mix of Sabu (dialogue, moves)/Stone Cold(attitude)/Scott Steiner(physique, wrestling skills)

Strengths: Experienced – In his days at UofHawaii, Tui learned many things. How to perfectly roll a blunt, do a kegstand, score a try, sweet talk a hoe, but most importantly – how to rassel. He then went off to
India to learn more about rasslin’, but had to leave early. However, he has seen a lot of what external temptations there are out there and what they can do if you get lost in them.

“Kid’s got heart. Miles and miles of heart.” – He puts up a fight, no matter how exhausted he gets. He’s a gritty, tough competitor that hangs in there, no matter how bad it gets.

Pride – Tui takes his heritage a bit too serious, and is bound and determined to give his family name something to live off of for years – a legacy.

Weaknessess:
America!? - The King is from Fiji, grew up in Hawaii, and has been all over the South Asian Pacific - even India. But, David has only seen that small section of the world and given the fact that he has never been to America, there are going to be some outside variables that guide his path to stardom.

Young, Hot, and Bothered – See Experienced, and add into the fact that all these young little blondes in the US love foreign dudes. So yeah, for an upstart like this – he’s going to have to play like Ronaldinho in Beckham’s spotlight.

Kick ass first, ask questions…maybe. – His most problematic issue is his temper and rage control. Not to say we all don’t have our limits, but Tui’s end right about the point your’s start. He’s the type to come out of nowhere, stir up a roster-wide brawl, and never get a word in as to problem was. Very brash, very feisty.

CHARACTER BIOGRAPHY:

To understand the King, understand his past…

Laz Tui was a player for the Fijian National Rugby Team in the early 1970’s, who also won three Fiji Cups for the Fijian Titans club. Then, something happened. He had a son. Then another. Then another. So now, it was not about playing rugby, but supporting a family. His wife had passed on just after their third son was born, so he waited until his sons – Kaz, Laz, Jr., and David – were finally old enough that the move wouldn’t be an issue, they moved to Hawaii. Laz got a job as a State Police officer there, working full-time to bring in the bacon.

His sons adjusted well. Kaz, after graduation, received a lucrative offer to play European soccer in Scotland. LJ, one of Hawaii’s best musical students, auditioned for the San Francisco Philharmonic Orchestra and was now the best percussionist in the California area. David, though, was still very young when both his older brothers left. He was now, all alone.

Just him and his dad, David began to follow the path his father had – becoming a police officer. He began preparing in 10th grade, running at 6am and then after school. He was getting fit, and active. Soon, he was playing basketball, baseball, football, golf, everything. Except when graduation came, he was not the star his brother was, or nearly as talented as LJ. So, he went to the University of Hawaii to get a Physical Education degree.

While there, something changed the David. Now, he was the King. With a fake ID and short temper, he was the star of the show at the local bar scenes. Pool halls cleared out with three simple words; “Tui’s gonna fight!” That’s where David was the King. The Kickin’ Ass King, they called him. And even though he was one of the roughest, toughest kids on campus – he still partied. Oh, did he ever. He’s got 69 notches in his belt (he stopped there just because he could), a stolen U of H Security Cart, two indecent exposure tickets – one with the Dean of Academic Affairs’ daughter – and a whole slew of anti-achievements to choke a horse.

Afterwards, though, he couldn’t shake the lifestyle. He stayed at school an extra semester, finally running into a familiar face. Laz Tui. Dad. That day, Laz whooped David’s ass the worst of all. Not for anything wrong he did, but because he heard some kid with a big mouth was running around calling himself ‘the King.’ So Laz showed the King a thing or two about bareknuckle conversations. That day, the entire campus saw a son fight his dad. That night, they saw the son lose. The King was dead.

Or was he? Shortly after the brawl, both bloody and exhausted, Laz explained that nobody calls themselves the King unless they truly can back that up. David couldn’t. Hell, even Laz couldn’t, and that’s why he never used that moniker. After David somewhat understood, although still a bit pissed about the college-wide embarrassment he just went though, he said that he wanted to become the King.

Three months later, he was at the Iron Shiek’s doorstep. He trained there for 5 months working on his fighting, and now, wrestling skills. He learned to fly through the air. He learned how to make people submit. He even learned how little it took to piss off the Shiek, because David was expelled from the academy for constant curfew violations. Tui returned to Hawaii with sunken shoulders and a bruised ego. He felt worthless. Until Laz Tui handed him a tiny piece of paper.

“NFW Open Tryouts” it read.

“I’m there” the King said.
