I'm waiting on 2 writers for the rest of Week 7 to be completed.

In the meantime, I wanted to start off the NFW All-Star Challenge Thread.

Rules:

1) Top 5 wrestlers in each conference (point-wise after Week 8) will face off in the All-Star War Games Match. You may NOT be in another match.

2) The amount of points allowed to be wagered can be no more than 1/2 of the greater point total of the two combatants, nor more than 100% of the lesser point total. IE Southern can't bet more than 22.5 points, McMillan can't bet more than 20 (as of right now). So that match's max betting is 20. However, due to some new folks arriving. If you're b/t 0-10 points, I will allow you to bet a maximum of 10 points.

3) Order to be followed to get match signed:
a) Challenges accepted and finalized
b) Wager agreed upon after finalization and must be approved by NFW Committe (me, JN, GG)

4) If your challenge gets into War Games, you will either face off someone in a similar bind - or just not have a match.

5) Only ONE match per wrestler on the card.

6) Non-NFW Ultratitle Competitors do not apply to the above rules, but are free to make challenges for the card here...as well as list any matches finalized. They may also compete in more than one match. NFW Ultratitle competitor versus non-Ultratitle competitor CANNOT have any point values wagered.

7) You WILL lose the amount of points wagered if you lose the match. So don't bet the farm if you're not 100% positive that you'll put a good showing in.

8) Due to Week 8 being close to the finalization period -- competitors can agree to a 'MAX' bet that will be determined once that card goes up.

Still not quite clear....

For example, if joe smith is 10-ish points below the competition bar for the second half, would he be able to bet that to make a last ditch effort to stay in or no dice?

If Joe Smith has 10 points, facing someone with 0-10 points - the max he can bet is 10 points.

If Joe Smith has 20 points, and he's facing someone with 40 - the max bet on the match is 20.

If his opponent has 30 points, the max is 15.

If his opponent has 20 points, the max is 10.

The max is 1/2 of the higher combatant's point total UNLESS we're dealing with wrestlers having 0-10 points.

Get the matches signed, I'll tell you the max that can be bet.

Maybe that's better. ;)

Are the War-Games participants supposed to be wagering points?

Any what happens if a person is currently in the top 5 in the conferance, but perhaps if they loose in Week 8, they will not be?

Am I totally not understanding what's going on here? (wouldn't be the first time)

Good questions.

1) War Games will have a determined amount of points (no wagering).

2) I've suggested that to play if safe that those feeling the risk of not being in War Games, but wanting to be on the card make challenges, in case. For those that don't make War Games and their opponent lands in War Games - I'll make something happen for them.

Can we challenge across conferences? Like, can I call out someone from the South?

Since its All-Star Week...and keeping tradition with other pro sports leagues...

I don't see why the hell not. :)

On the calendar, you'll see there's a rookie night.

Since I'm pretty sure no one's seriously answered his challenge, I'm going to take pity on Le Phenom and answer le open challenge. (Besides, everyone else I want to call out is pretty much a lock for War Games.)

Sands/Hart. Book it, you monkeys. ;)

I'm feeling especially stupid, here. What's going on? If possible, I'd like something booked for an event at some point in the future. 'Kay?

Chris -- Like some other pro sports leagues, we're having an All-Star Week at the midpoint of the season.

The top 5 wrestlers from each conference will be placed in the War Games match (North vs. South) to determine homefield playoffs.

From that point, wrestlers not in the War Games are encouraged to challenge each other in any type of match that they want and since this event is taking place in Vegas...

Competitors can wager a certain amount of points against each other.

You may challenge anyone from the North or South, if whomever you finalize a match against is in the War Games - I'll fill another contract for you.
