As it stands right now, I have nine teams and only one possible feeler for another one to come in. That other team is more than likely not going to come in, so I have a dilemma. Nine is not only NOT a multiple of four, but it's also not even an even number (PUN INTENDED :p). That presents a huge problem. So, I'm going to present this in poll format, since I am a man of the peeps and I want to see what you guys think is best for you.

Option #1 - Three brackets of three teams, one team per bracket gets a bye each week.

Pros - The bye may be strategically important to the team getting it that week, fewer results to write.

Cons - Inactivity is the devil's best friend, people may become forgetful.

Option #2 - Three brackets of three teams, the odd teams out in each bracket face off in a special "three way" match.

Pros - Keeps everyone busy, novel concept that could be really cool to pull off.

Cons - The logistics would be insane. INSANE I SAY!

Option #3 - Cut a team from the running

Pros - Gives us two brackets of four, nice, even and good to work with.

Cons - How in the hell am I going to decide who gets the ax? Plus, it goes against the all-inclusive nature of TEAM

Option #4 - Creation of 1-3 NPC teams in the vein of RDJW last year.

Pros - Keeps people busy and informed each week, gives each team a mulligan win if they just post one RP

Cons - Adds more clutter to the writeups, it's embarrassing as hell when people no-show against them, people may take them too lightly, forget to RP and then get their game thrown off the entire tournament, puts more of a strain on me

Option #5 - Allow mongrel/free agent/cross-promotional teams

Pros - Allows people to participate in the tournament even if they're the only ones in their fed who do, fills out the brackets nicely without resorting to cheap parlor tricks or byes

Cons - Destroys the fiber upon which the tournament was built, sets a bad precedent for future tournaments where demand is better.

Of course, none of these could be necessary if I get 1-7 teams to sign up between now and Saturday. However, it's good to have contingiency in place. Plus, it gives people a chance to argue over theory, which is always a great idea and never leads to flame fests ever :p

I'm sure NFW could field a second team. . .let me know, if you want that to happen or not.

Otherwise, I like Option 2.

If it comes down to it, I have no problem with feds that have the manpower and the demand to field more than one team. Just as long as handlers don't try to sneak back and forth between squads and play me like a fiddle :p

Its up to you, Thomas.

I'm not going to do it unless that's your chosen option.

Kind of sides with Option 4, but I like Option 1 anyhow. Simple and to the point, and probably the best way to go about doing it.

Cameron Cruise should be his own team, wrestling in gauntlet matches to rub in everybody's faces that he is MWCW Midwest Heavyweight Champion.

Pros: He's bad ass and would surely kick any teams ass that has a roster member with "Troy" anywhere in it (preferably with Lindsay at the front).

Cons: Quite possibly the most dominant Dupree Cup team... EVER! People would stop participating just because they already know he's winning the whole sh'bang!

... seriously though, I choose option ONE.

If you have enough interest to put together a wildcard team just to get it to an even number, I can't see why you wouldn't do that.

One Wildcard Team formed by Holzerman would be a good idea, too! I knew there was a reason why I liked Mr. West! :)

Oh, and Lindz is just excited thatit only took her five years to get a real job... she was planning on at least 10 years with that college education of hers. You know, because college is worth every dime you spend on it!

I'm making an executive decision. Since I have received interest in a "free-agent" team, I'm going to try an assemble one as soon as possible. If I can't get one assembled, then we'll go with the bye system that everyone has voted upon.
