Every autumn, more than twenty of the world’s finest wrestlers gather for the opportunity to achieve immortality. Over the course of eight weeks, these superstars wage war, all with the intent to earn their rightful place in history.

This October, as the air chills and the green of the earth rots away, 24 superstars will have the opportunity to rise through the brown decay of death and shine as the Jewel in the Crown.

While GTT kicks off its 7th edition, PRIME’s 7th annual Jewel in the Crown tournament begins this October 28th.

The Jewel in the Crown tournament, or JitC, as it’s come to be known, is a 24 person, single elimination tournament that begins on the 209th edition of ReVolution, Oct 28th, and culminates at PRIME’s PPV event, King of Kings, December 20th.

The winner of the JitC will gain immediate respect and notoriety. But it isn’t just fame and accolades that comes with a Jewel in the Crown victory. The tournament winner earns a guaranteed shot at the Universal Championship in the main event of Night 1 of Culture Shock, PRIME’s yearly March PPV that features the infamous Dual Halo.

No doubt, GTT is grand in scale, but if you doubt the legitimacy of the JitC, one must look no further than the list of names who have won the event in the last 4 years.

2005 saw Tchu capture the JitC title as a newcomer to PRIME. What followed? Just 2 PRIME Universal Titles, A Dual Halo Victory, a TEAM ToC finals appearance, a PTC IG Title, and a PTC Unified Championship. What started as a JitC victory turned into one of the most successful PTC resumes of the last four years.

2006 saw Tony Gamble take the crown. The same Tony Gamble that has held numerous PRIME Championships. And How did Tony Gamble put his name in the lights? He just tore through a stacked field and defeated Angelo Deville. Yeah, that Angelo Deville.

2007 crowned Chandler Tsonda as JitC victor, and officially cemented the Viet Viper as a main-event player. Tsonda went on to main event the 5th anniversary of Colossus, capturing the Universal Title. It would take more than 200 days and a host of vanquished challengers for someone to dethrone the Hall of Fame Tsuperstar.

And last year, 2008, the guy who won… you might have heard of him. Goes by the name Jason Snow, arguably the most successful PTC superstar of all time. The Original Villain is both the defending GTT and JitC Champion. Do you need any more proof of just what level of talent PRIME’s Jewel in the Crown has showcased and what sort of successes it has ignited?

And YOU can be next!

That’s right, the time has come for all participants interested to submit their application to join the 2009 Jewel in the Crown Tournament. Anyone is invited to apply as PRIME looks to fill over a half dozen tournament spots with wrestlers from any and all feds.

Here’s the basics:

-Tournament begins on ReV 209 on October 28th. Semi-finals and Finals will take place at King of Kings on December 20th.

-Tournament is single-elimination

-All “outside” participants who would like to remain with PRIME full-time will have the opportunity to join the roster. Anyone who wants to join just for the tournament is welcome to do so as well.

-The JitC winner gets a guaranteed roster spot (if won by a non-roster member) and a guaranteed shot at the Universal Championship in the main event of Culture Shock. It doesn’t matter if you’re a handler and character who’s never spent 5 minutes in PRIME. If you win, you get a guaranteed shot at the most prestigious title in the federation’s rich history.

Here’s How to Apply

-Send an application to applytoPRIME@gmail.com by Sunday, Oct 18th at 8:00PM Eastern

-Include somewhere in the ‘subject’ field that this is a JitC Application

-Applications should include the following
