Running scared

Camera fades into Natalia as she is packing up some stuff in her apartment. It is obvious that the young lady is scared to death and is trying to run. Shutting her suitcase and grabbing her car keys, she walks out to her car and opens the trunk putting her bag in there. When she turns around, she jumps as Silencer stands behind her.

Silencer- Going somewhere?

Natalia- Uh yeah, I uh, I have a family emergency.

Silencer- *moves closer to her* Why do you have to lie to me Natalia? People who lie to me make me angry Natalia.

Natalia- *moves back* Please, I gave the message to Pitt, what more do you want from me?

Silencer- *touches Natalia face* Shhh Natalia, don't you know that you are a pawn in all of this. This is my game and you my dear are the chess piece.

Natalia- I don't want anything else to do with this.

Silencer- As I see it Natalia, you really don't have a choice in that matter. Give me your keys?

Natalia- No!

Silencer- *moves closer and raises his voice* I said give me the keys!!!

Natalia- No, I am not going to let you rule my life.

Silencer- *laughs* So be it.

Silencer hits her accross the face as she falls on the ground and then grabs her and continues to hit her yelling.

Silencer- Who do you think you are? Your just another *****. Face it I own you Natalia. I will do with you what I want, do you understand me!

Natalia just lays there with blood coming out of her nose and lip. Bruises start to form. Finally Silencer just pushes her down making her hit the back of her head on the sidewalk. Silencer walks off leaving Natalia there but then turns around when he hears a car start up and coming towards him. He jumps out of the way in time and then stands up grinning.

Silencer- Go ahead and run to Pitt Natalia, your doing exactly what I want you to do.

The camera fades out.

*You hear a soft knocking as the camera fades in to a large oak front door with a cherry finish. Thirteen steps in front of the door and opens it. You hear “Pitt….” and Thirteen falls back some, stepping aside as he catches a young woman in his arms. Her face is bruised and bloody. Thirteen stares at her for a moment before picking her up and carrying her off.



Fade to Pitt standing over the girl, a single candle lit next to her bed and you can see she’s been bandaged up. The candle flickers, illuminating his face momentarily, and you can see that it is filled with sorrow. Thirteen steps into the room silently and nudges Pitt, motioning for him to leave. They walk out of the room and down a long corridor to a room that appears to be a library. The books on the walls are dusty and some appear to be rotting.*



Thirteen: “She’ll be allright. You know she’s been through worse.”



*Pitt nods.*



Thirteen: “So what exactly happened after Dusty left the fed and everyone parted….”



Pitt: “Data decided to stop being an escort in the wrestling business and chose to go out on her own and form a band. Hacker was hot on her heels but I managed to divert his attention elsewhere until I could remove him once and for all. Eventually someone else did him in. He was in a major car accident that left him paralyzed, no longer a threat to her life. I continued to stay in the shadows watching Data grow until I felt comfortable that no one was going to bother her anymore. I hired some security guards whom I trusted to watch her while I went away. I had no reason to stay in this world anymore and was going to see if perhaps the future was any more entertaining. Then you woke me up. Now there’s someone after me, and apparently connected to Data.”



Thirteen: “Do you think it’s Hacker?”



*Pitt shakes his head.*



Pitt: “Hacker was mangled. Between the mental and physical punishment we inflicted upon him and the car accident he’d have to be completely out of his mind to come after me again. Hell, last I heard every time anyone mentioned duct tape he went into hysterics.”



*Thirteen chuckles*



Pitt: “This…Silencer… knows where to strike and how. His actions and patterns are similar to someone I’ve dealt with before, but not entirely the same. I cannot decipher who..or what… he is…”



Thirteen: “Lets just hope he knows what he’s doing.”



*Pitt stares at Thirteen.*



Pitt: “And why is that?”



Thirteen: “I don’t want to have to scrape anyone else off the floor of an arena.”



*Pitt and Thirteen laugh, and the camera fades.*

The Camera fades back to the bed where I resting in. I slowly open my eyes and sit up still feeling groggy. I go to stand up but my head hurts so much that I lay back down and falls back to sleep.

Dreaming she goes back to her past. The time she got involved with Hacker, to her past in WWL. Remember everything from being held hostage by Hacker, Tony Blake, and his gang, to being saved by Pitt. Leaving the business after that and getting together with my band Breethless. I felt safe, that was until Silencer showed up. Remembering coming home from that night and being thrown against the wall outside my apartment loft. To the night that led me back to Pitt's. The last image that I see is Silencer in front of me laughing which causes me to sit up scared.

I get up quickly and open the door. I don't see anyone around so I quietly go to the stairs and walk down them. I hear Thirteen and Pitt talking so I sneak to the door and open it, leaving and getting in my car. I quickly find my keys and start it up. I look back at the house, feeling a little bad for not saying anything about leaving before I drive away.

A hour later, I am outside a Mosuleum that has candles all around. I look at the name in front of me that says Alexis Alexander, 1945-1999, my mother grave. I sit there and just look at it.

Natalia- This is the only place I actually feel safe at. I keep running but it's just like I am going in circles. I can't go home for the fear that Silencer will be there. I don't know what to do Mom, what should I do?

Off to the side, there is a bench where I sit down and slowly drift off to sleep again as the camera fades out.

*As Natalia lays upon the stone bench, the wind stirs and snow begins to gently fall. The camera pans around to behind her, and against the white you see a dark figure approach. He bends down close and gently presses his lips to hers. She begins to give into the embrace, and her eyes open, wide with terror, and she pushes him off, clambering to the ground screaming. Pitt stands up and makes no other movements and she scurries away.*



Pitt: “Fear not child… I’ve never harmed you before. I shall not begin now.”



*Natalia stops and looks at him. She gets to her feet, brushing herself off, still wary.*



Natalia: “I.. I thought….”



Pitt: “No need for words. You thought I was one of the demons from your past…well…one of the more heinous ones anyways, come forth to the present to try to reclaim you as my own once more.”



*Natalia nods affirmatively.*



Pitt: “I want to apologize for leaving you so abruptly after the fallout of the WWL. With Hacker and his mob looking for me, I knew it would not be safe for you to be seen with me. It is easy enough for me to avoid them, but a mortal as yourself, you only have a single lifetime ahead of you. I could not bear to see you running forever.”



*Pitt sits down on the bench.*



Pitt: “I chose to instead stay my distance and guide you from afar, allowing certain doors to open before you that may have not been accessible normally. Letting certain mishaps close doors for others. You became successful, and as soon as others saw what you could do, I no longer had to assist you. I kept my distance for some time after that, until I thought you to be safe. Hacker was taken out, but sadly the final stroke was not by my hand. A car almost killed him. He was left in a wheel chair, unable to walk. Noone had even come close to you with the bodyguards that had been hired for your protection. So I did what I do best. I waited.”



*Natalia sits down next to him.*



Natalia: “For what?”



Pitt: “Anything. I had nothing left to fight for, no experiences to be had. Nothing. Rather than give in to the darkness which was becoming me, I chose to sleep. Then Thirteen happen to stumble across me, which I’m willing to bet is by no accident. God has a morbid sense of humor…and they call me a monster. As soon as I show up in the federation, Silencer appears and goes straight after you. I believe he was waiting and I disappeared before giving him chance to strike at me, whomever he is. Now that I’m back, he has this opportunity. I’m afraid that he knows the only way to truly get to me, is through you.”



*Natalia looks at him.*



Natalia: “So what do we do?”



*Pitt pulls her in close and kisses her gently.*



Pitt: “I’m going to have to destroy him. I refuse to let you be taken from me once more. Few things anymore give me pleasure…..”



*Pitt stands and walks off.*



Pitt: “Take care of yourself. Hide where you must. It’s not safe to travel with me, or be near me. With him delving as deep into my past as he has, he’s sure to know my haven. He’ll know when and where to strike at me. I need you to hide not from him, but from me, for if I cannot find you, then noone can…



*Natalia starts to speak, but Pitt disappears into the night. She looks down at the bench, tears in her eyes, and finds a single black rose.*

Relizing that I was no longer safe not even with Pitt, I took his advice but before I left town, I drove my car to a small house. I openned the car door and took a deep breath before exitting it and walking up to the house. I softly knock and wait. The door eventually openned and in front of me was the one man that I once loved. He actually looked a little surprised to see me. Then again it's been close to 2 yrs since I've seen Hacker.

Natalia- Hi!

Hacker- Natalia? What are you doing here?

Natalia- May I come in?

Hacker- Of course.

Hacker moves his wheel chair he was in to the side. Like Pitt said, he was involved in a major car accident last year. He shuts the door as I turn towards him.

Natalia- I need a favor!

Hacker- Sure, just name it.

Natalia- I need to leave town and I need to leave my car here. I can't risk the person who is after me to find me. If he finds the car, tell him you don't know where I am.

Hacker- Woah, hang on one second! Someone is after you? Who?

Natalia- Some guy who is after Pitt and he wants to use me to do it. His name is Silencer.

Hacker- Oh my God, they let him out of the asylum!!

Natalia- Come again?

Hacker- Silencer, if it is the same guy I am thinking of then Pitt is in for one big fight. What does he look like?

Natalia- About your height and he wears a mask.

Hacker- Oh Dear God, it is him.

Natalia- Wait how do you know him?

Hacker- I tagged with him when I first started wrestling. The man is insane. The reason he was in the asylum was because he killed a fan right after our match because he wanted an autograph. I turned him into the cops.

Natalia- Why is he after Pitt then?

Hacker- Proberly to prove to me that he can beat him. I couldn't beat Pitt, he wants to show me that he is better than me. I am so sorry he involved you.

Natalia- It's ok, just keep my car for me will ya. I got to go.

I hand Hacker my car keys and then leave the house and get into a cab as it drives away. A little while later, the camera shows people sitting on a bus. Near the back is where I am sitting, looking out a window. I am listening to a mixed cd and I am softly singing along to a song.

Natalia- And I know it might sound crazy
But after all that I still love you

The bus pulls up to the next stop as the driver calls it out. I grab my bag and get off the bus along with a few other people. It's a quiet town as I walk into the Grayhound station and into the bathroom. Out of my bag I pull out wig box. I quickly tie my hair up into a bun and put on a brown wig and then put on safety pins to keep it in place. I look myself in the mirror and then sigh.

Natalia- Good bye Natalia!

I grab my stuff and then head out of the bathroom as the camera fades out.

*Thirteen sits down across from a desk where Pitt is seated, his back towards Thirteen.*



Pitt: “And?”



Thirteen: “I followed her to Hacker’s place. She left her car there and took off on the bus. I had someone follow her on the bus and they lost her after she went into the ladies room.”



*Pitt sighs*



Pitt: “Lets hope she stays safe and hidden. If she’s smart, she won’t let herself be drawn out by any means until this.. infection.. has been purged from the world.”



*Thirteen nods.*



Thirteen: “But.. why would she go to Hacker…”



Pitt: “Who would expect her to go there? After all the things he put her through to go to the one person she despises the most and use him to cover her. He’d sell her out for the right amount, but by the time the price is paid, the information is then invalid and she’ll be long gone. She’ll cover her tracks somehow. And if not, we’ll take care of it for her.”



Thirteen: “Pitt…”



*Pitt turns around in his chair and looks at Thirteen.*



Pitt: “Don’t ask, because I don’t have the answer…”



*Thirteen nods, and leaves the room.*



*Pitt sighs heavily and turns back around.*



Pitt: “Because for the first time in ages… I’ve begun to love again……….”



*fades*

Weeks have gone by and I start to feel somewhat safe again, but I know not to let my guard down to much cause it could cost me. I wanted to continue my singing career again but I was afraid Silencer would track me down, either that or Hacker would sell me out. Then again he had my car keys, but not even he knew where I was. For now, I was safe. I actually found a place to stay for free and a job. I worked as a waitress and the owner was allowing me to stay in the upstairs apartment for free, if I closed at night. Tuesday nights seem to be slow one. The resterant is pretty empty. There is your typical high school kids in the back both and a trucker at the counter. I have the radio playing in the background and Alicia Keys new song, "Karma" starts to play. Something I should be used to by now.

The Trucker: You know Samatha, with a voice like that, you should be on that reality show American Idol?

I smile, yes he called me Samatha, I figured it was safer to use my middle name.

Natalia- I only sing to myself. Besides I like it here.

The Trucker- Well I like you too Sam, mainly because you make the best coffee in the place.

Natalia- Thanks Bill. *hands him a container* Here is some for the road.

Bill the Trucker- Your a good person Sam.

Pays for his coffee and meal and leaves. I start to clean up as the high school kids leave and then close down as the camera fades out.

Elsewhere Hacker is sitting inside his house. He is watching tv but also lifting 100lbs weights to build up his arms when a voice is heard.

Silencer- Pathitic!

Hacker turns to see Silencer standing there with his arms crossed. Silencer is wearing a black trench coat, jeans, and a Punisher shirt. Along with his mask. Hacker put down the weights and again looks at Silencer.

Hacker- Should I even ask how you got in here?

Silencer- You should know by now that I have my ways. Funny last year you were at the top of the world and now you can't even walk.

Hacker- What are you going to knock me as I am down? Is that why you are here?

Silencer- Of course not, although it is fun to see you suffer like I did in the asylum all those years. *starts to walk around* What I want is simple Hacker, I want to know where Natalia went too.

Hacker- Sorry can't help you there. She dropped off her car and then left in a cab.

Silencer- *leans in and is face to face with Hacker* And you expect me to believe that you don't know where she is?

Hacker- Believe what you want Silencer. I don't know where she is.

Silencer- *grins as he stands up* And if you did know?

Hacker- If the price was right then yes.

Silencer- *laughs* Always the money man aren't you. Any idea at all where she went?

Hacker- The last I heard, her dad still has his cabin about 2 hours from here. She could be there but I don't think she would go there. She would go the last place you would think of.

Silencer- I know, but don't worry, I will find her and I will do what you couldn't do and that is destroy Pitt.

Silencer leaves as Hacker looks down.

Hacker- I think I created a monster.

Hacker in his wheelchair rolls it over to his phone and looks up a number. He picks up his portable and dials and leaves a message.

Hacker- Hey, it's Hacker, I think I need to meet with you and give you a little insite on who you are dealing with. Meet me in 2 hours in the park.

Hacker hangs up the phone as the camera fades out.

*Pitt hangs up the phone with a stunned look on his face. He turns to Thirteen standing behind him.*



Pitt: “Hacker wants me to meet him in the park.”



Thirteen: “What’s his game?”



*Pitt shakes his head.”



Pitt: “I have not a clue. This is a very unexpected move from him.”



*Pitt walks out the front door and the camera wipes to the park where Pitt is wearing his trench coat, a wide brimmed hat, and red sunglasses. He walks around, making no noises, as silent as a predator on the hunt. You see he’s following a group of college girls around smiling.*



Pitt: “Ah.. to be young once more..”



*You hear a rumbling sound as a beat up E-250 pulls into the park. Pitt turns around to see who it is and stifles a laugh. The front door opens up gullwing style and a small elevator lowers Hacker to the ground in his wheel chair. Pitt’s face turns red, as it’s all he can do to keep from laughing. Hacker presses the forward button and wheels around the park looking for Pitt with a whirring sound following everywhere he goes. Pitt creeps up behind Hacker and holds onto the back of the wheelchair, stopping him from moving. Hacker plays with the controls some, and Pitt allows it to go backwards, but not forwards. Frustrated, he turns around to meet Pitt face to face.*



Pitt: “Professor Xavior, long time no see wheels.”



*Pitt laughs uproariously as Hacker glares at him.*



Hacker: “Oh really funny.”



Pitt: “Nice ride.”



Hacker: “What can you do, my SUV got damage beyond compare and it gets me around.”



Pitt: “Lets get to the point.. what do you want?”



Hacker: “I hear you have Silencer on your trail.”



Pitt: “Silencer is going to be demolished should he keep this up. What is his interest in me and why does he want Data?”



Hacker: “It's simple, I fought you and lost. I believe he wants to prove to me that he can beat you. As for Natalia, I guess he watched how you two got along in WWL.”



Pitt: “So am I to understand that you two have a history together?”



Hacker: “He was my first tag team partner when I started in the wrestling business. He killed a kid and I turned him into the cops. He got sent to the loony bin because of it.”



Pitt: “So when I defeat him and humiliate him worse than I did you then what? Is he going to try and murder me? He does know my.. full.. history, I’m assuming?”



Hacker: “If you thought I was annoying by my tactics of taking you down, then be prepared to get it far worse from him. I don't know what Silencer knows about you but I am guessing that he knows everything and what he does he does well. I don't even know what he is going to do.”



Pitt: “So what is the point of telling me this. I already know he’s off his rocker, he came after me directly and dove right into my past. Do you have anything useful to tell me or are you going to continue to waste my time?”



*Hacker looks down.*



Hacker: “He is going to track down Natalia again. I don't even know where she went to.”



Pitt: “That’s a duh. He’s going to track her down, he may or may not find her. If he does he’s going to give me the same **** you did, and I’m going to have to bust him up the same way I did you.”



*Pitt turns to walk away.*



Pitt: “If I find out you’re behind this in any way, or that you’ve sold her out, or anything that has to do with this situation, you’ll wish that car would have killed you. As for Silencer, I’ll make sure when I get done with him he’ll live up to the name, I’ll make it so that the only f*cking job he’ll ever have is that of a street mime..”



Hacker: “I can't sell her out when I don't know where she is. Trust me I've looked. There is activity on her credit cards and I checked with a buddy of mine and she's isn't at her dad's cabin.”



Pitt: “By you looking you’re opening up a trail to her. You need to back off and leave him to his own defeat. All you’re doing is showing him how to get to her. You need to back off of this.”



Hacker: “Ok fine. good luck.”



*Pitt looks behind him meeting Hacker in the eyes.*



Pitt: “Just stay away. Let me deal with this.”



*Pitt walks away and the camera fades.*
