"You're such a f(FCC)in' sellout."

There was nobody else in sight, but it didn't really matter, as the man known as Christian Sands was addressing himself. As he leaned back in the driver's seat of his black Lamborghini, he gazed blankly out the windscreen at the Cricket Arena, a scowl etching itself across his bronzed face. Never in a million years had he actually thought he'd be showing up there to take part in a CSWA television taping.

Then again, life tended to throw him curveballs now and then. Certainly he hadn't expected his brother to come back and jump in a year ago, among other things.

This was different, though. He'd had no control over Devon's arrival. This, on the other hand, was a result of his own conscious choice. He had, after all, signed his name on the contract.

The decision had seemed quite rational at the time. In his two years as a professional talent he'd proven himself all over the world to be one of the best in the business. He'd laid claim to his first World Title, wrestled his first truly epic match at GWE's Battleground Britain, and generally opened eyes everywhere he went. In spite of all that, though, he'd never even considered jumping to the CSWA. When his GXW brethren had jumped en masse just after his appearance, he chose not to follow. Then again, he wasn't ready at the time.

So what was his excuse when he WAS ready? Probably burnout and prior commitments - or injury, thanks to Devon.

When he'd returned to the business, he'd made the choice to explore new avenues of success, penning a contract with NFW before even considering returning to GXW. The decision had paid off - between NFW, EPW, and GWE, he'd risen higher than he'd ever thought possible. After all that, jumping over to the CSWA seemed to be the logical next step. He'd proven himself everywhere he'd went, so why not take the next big step and reach for success on the biggest stage of them all?

Perhaps it was the environment in which he'd dwelt that influenced his delayed arrival. When he first arrived on the pro scene, the GXW invasion of the CSWA was under way, creating a certain amount of tension between the two promotions. Thus, the CSWA had always seemed to be the enemy to Sands - to sign with them was to sell one's soul to the devil.

A rueful smirk touched his face. Seeing through that GXW-induced stigma had taken him awhile, but he'd done it.

He let out a slow breath, gazing out at the arena again. Sure, they'd stuck him on the B show, but that wouldn't last long once Merritt realized the caliber of talent he'd picked up. With a dry smile, Sands depressed the gas and urged the car forward into the Cricket Arena's parking garage.

"You wanted new blood, Chad... you've got it."

NC: Nice car

(Nathan Cross is shown moments after the phrase is shown. He has a smirk on his face, obviously happy to see people here that are newer than he.)

NC: Looks like I've got another guy in my army of new blood. I'm assuming you're ready to storm the gates... and this time you're not bothering with the rest of your GXW jerk-offs. Let's see if you can play on your own ... with the only backup being the one guy in this fed that bleeds more CSWA than Hornet... and that'd be - me. Think about it.

(FADEIN: In lieu of an interesting setting, here's a white backdrop. No reason to go out and put together a Hollywood scene for a short promo, though that seems to be the main event style around these parts. Either way, CHRISTIAN SANDS occupies a steel chair in front of said backdrop, his trenchcoat undone and his shades pushed down his nose as he sits in reverse on the chair with his arms draped across the back.)

Sands: Wow. Someone around here who speaks his mind instead of talking through deep pseudo-emotional vignettes. You're a rare breed around these parts, Cross. You sure this is still the CSWA?

Let's clear the air, Nathan. You seem like a good enough guy, and that's cool by me. What's NOT cool is your suggestion that I've never been able to get things done on my own. There's plenty of tape out there that proves otherwise. If you'd rather not go through the trouble, I'll make it simple. I've been on my own since long before I sold my soul to Merritt and the rest of the monkeys up there in Greensboro, and as such I have absolutely no problem functioning independently.

As for your army of the new blood - sorry, but I don't join up with another man's circus unless I'm the one running the show. Associating with groups led by a backstabbing SNAKE by the name of Dan Ryan has taught me the hard way that playing the lackey is an invitation for betrayal. What I will do is make you a deal. I won't join your army, but I won't stand in your way, either. I was like you once - hungry for success - and I'm not the kind of guy to prevent someone from succeeding out of spite.

If you're really feeling sporty, think of it as a competition. Whichever one of us takes the CSWA by storm first, wins.

In closing, if you're looking for folks to join your army, look no further than Troy Douglas. He's young and naive. I'm sure he'd be glad to have your back. Me, I blaze my own path.

Good luck, Nate. Enjoy your army.
