Spoilers Ahead. DUH.
Show was so awesome I'm gonna use an outdated phrase and say it was "off the hook." Definitely lived up to the Supercrash's of old, well, at least 2. I don't think I've read 1 in full yet myself. From a personal standpoint, High Flyer better get a big bonus for wrestling four matches straight
.
Good start/set up to the show, although Supercrash 2's video package blows Supercrash 3's out of the water. But all the pre-segs really set the stage for the importance of the evening.
Tag match was solid but slightly anti-climatic. I wanted to see the tag titles change hands personally, see the Windham clan start their quest for the gold, but keeping the belts on the HWC keeps the Dynasty strong, so no problems there. Plus it would have meant every title match on the show crowned a new champion.
Pete's work to tie the show together with Impulse's chat really worked wonders. Although because I know the character so well, it did slightly give away the fact that Deacon would show up, although I still didn't believe it. I hope Warren sticks around for the long haul. He's an awesome handler with a great character and, for me, there's a lot of history there between Deac and Fly.
I loved the motif of the Alamo Dome and how no one really got out of the actual Alamo alive, and how ever present that was on this show, especially in the main event where it's specifically called out and referenced as such. Great choice for a venue.
Thanks to Pants and Pete for writing the National Championship glory. It was an awesome end to a long running angle, and certainly sets up a bit of Flyer/Curio fun if Andy's game. Also, Katz, that speech you wrote for Flyer after the match was all kinds of awesome. Pure unbridled lunacy filled with an ADHD attention span. Perfection.
Glad Biron got some recognition and is the Television Champ. I thought SJH was gonna win it just to "reset" the legacy of the belt, if you will. My only complaint about the television title match is the lack of a clear strong face for the fans to get behind during it. But that's more of NFW's willingness to cator to the heel demographic than any slight on the match writer themself.
As for the Hall induction, I was hoping Nova would physically show up. And then when the chaos went off in the main event, I was really hopin' he'd show up. Randalls was a good second choice though.
The main event definitely had the gravitas that it deserved. Kudos to the match writer and everyone else who set things in motion. The match itself wasn't a five star affair, but was VERY well done. The story it told, with each character having a true role in the match, was pitch perfect. Dorchester causing Mayfield to lose and then getting himself DQ'd was a nice touch, although I wish Dorchester did more than just push the ref. Even if he did it twice after getting warned the first time. Seems like the official was really lenient up until that point. Mayfield as the fifth man was sweet, although as I read I was hopin' it'd be the return of Craig Miles.
Congrats to JJ for the final pin. Looks like big things are in store, especially with Windham telling everyone to protect Ryan as the chaos occurred. That's how you end a show with a cluster ****.
Big kudos to everyone involved.
