Here's an idea sort of playing off the one Gregg had a year or two ago.

For those who might remember, we were going to do a tag tournament called the Rick Ryconik Invitational (namesake is the 140 year old Polish dude who has the record for shortest reign as NFW World Champ). The idea was to randomly pair people up and have them compete for the Cup or Trophy or whatever.

Problem with tag teams right now is that everybody (myself included) seems too focused on their singles character to really put the effort into building a good team. Is that the case, or am I just crazy?

My idea is basically MINIMAL EFFORT REQUIRED. Seriously, the Rick Ryconik Cup, maybe the Zane Invitational or the Bob "Butterfingers" Ryder Manboy Invitational, is designed for people who want to have fun with teams without doing much more than burping.

So here's the actual idea: 8 teams, NO WEBSITE BIOS. Just reply to the official thread with your team name, combined weight, theme music, hometown, and finisher. Write a short sentence describing their gimmick. Example: "Two ex-cons who self-publish cookbooks because Harper-Collins keeps f*cking with them."

RP would be restricted to 1-Max, and at maximum 450 words. That's not even a page. The idea is just to get quick, no-pressure ideas for teams, and let people throw sh*t at the wall and have fun with it. And hopefully, we get one or two teams that the handler really takes to, that really catches on, and the winner of the tournament gets a tag title shot.

I will volunteer to write the entire thing, unless somebody else is itching to get involved. If so, that's cool. Results will be extremely shortformed. Like, two paragraphs at most. It can be it's own Brawl, or Katz/JN can throw it on Reloaded or an upcoming Brawl.

Also, let's get three totally random people to judge the RP. I'm talking people who haven't RP'd in forever who wouldn't mind reading some short RPs. People who come to mind: Ernie Garrett, Mike McNichols, Jason Martin (doubtful, but we'll see), or that dude from PTC who I tricked into thinking I was his friend from the old days who has now turned gay and wants him. Maybe we could even have public voting where everybody votes on a poll? No rigsies!

Thoughts? Katz, Jamar, Gregg, anyone? Feel free to add, subtract, or modify the above ideas. I want this to be something everybody can get on board with. The end goal is to get another team or two.

I actually really like this idea. Short rps just for having fun, nothing serious, doesn't take a thread war. I would enjoy doing this for the LAWLs and to have a good time with. I expect some goofy gimmicks and such like that, so, I would be 100% game in this :)

I believe the RookPulse thing was explained in-story, but I am unsure.

Billy -- you had me until the judging thing. That makes it more of a PWC tournament than an NFW activity. :)

Stanton is the only PWC judge. You're thinking of PTC! And no, Varga will not be judging this. Judges was just an idea - I'll judge it if ya like.

The other thing right now...you should be writing a triple-threat tag match (nudge, nudge, wink, wink!) and there's 2-3 other legit tags not involved. For the stable of matchwriters we have, I don't know if we technically need more tags. :)
