Long Live THE KING
[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jul-19-02 AT 01:07 PM (EDT)]"You know what, Hornet?..."
fade- in:
"...somewhere along the way you must have missed a couple of important facts, fact one being, I don't give a damn who you know, or what they've told you. Unless you come to the source yourself, don't believe everything you hear, or think you've seen. Assumption is the lowest form of knowledge, Hornet... and, the first three letters in assume, basically spell out what you looked like, standing in front of your camera, labeling events that never happened. ...like you had any idea what was even going on."
[small]Sean Stevens stood in front of his camera, in a "Perfect Circle" t- shirt, with him, Eli Flair, Kendall Codine, and Poison Ivy on the front, ripped blue jeans, and black, quarter- cut 'Nike: Air Force One' tennis shoes. His long golden hair was tied back into a braided pony- tail, and he was sporting three days worth of facial hair.[/small]
"Eli Flair and I are friends, I won't lie. And, yeah... wrestling him seven- or- eight times has taught me a thing or two... but, I never rode his coattails in any form or fashion to anything that I've earned in this business. I don't care what you've heard about me, and I don't plan on sitting here proving to you how 'good a guy I am.' I'll just give you the facts. And, the facts are this, I'm not some corporate kiss a##, never was, never will be, so the fact that you can come out here with a straight face, and say that the fWo had me doing anything is as ridiculous as you actually believing Tom Adler had nothing to do with me losing to you a couple of weeks ago.
"Ever heard of the heat of competition, Hornet? ...the fWo front office had been trying to cash in on me and Eli's past since we got there, with us competing once prior in a match that stole the damned show. So they set that little tournament up, knowing full well, the two people they put in front of me, wouldn't stand a chance, just like they knew full well the guys in front of Eli didn't pose any serious threat. And, we did what we had to do, not upsetting anyone in the process. So when it came down to Eli and I, sure we had a few words... Eli thinks he can beat me, just as much as I know I can beat him.
"If wanting to win is a crime, you should've been placed in a gas chamber years ago for doing anything to win. ...whether it be screwing somebody you actually cared about or turning your back on the same kids that made you the Icon you are today."
[small]Stevens removed his t- shirt, revealing a white wife-beater underneath.[/small]
"And, when did I blast Dan Ryan? That loser resorted to homosexual jokes and the minute I labeled him a loser for doing it, he tried to flip the script saying I jumped on the defensive, putting emphasis on my relationship. I'm sure you have access to old CSWA footage, Hornet... it was only a week ago. Look at the tapes of every single promo I cut, and tell me yourself if I've said anything and if you can find it, and prove it, I'll apologize.
"Don't blame me because you aired your dirty laundry on CSWA television for me and the entire world to see. I never asked to know anything about you, who you dated, knocked up in some expensive hotel or your mansion. I simply turned on the television to watch wrestling. You put your business out there for the world to see, then wanna whine, and b#tch the minute somebody pretends they saw it.
"And, to answer your questions... in '96 I was honing my craft for this day. '98 I was in HEW wrestling guys like Randy Harders, Daredevil and Eli Flair on a less grander scale... honing my craft... all in anticipation of days like this. ...and, now... that day is here, and I'm gonna make you pay, not only for what you've done to me, but because you just happen to be my opponent.
"But, let me ask you a question... where were you when Ivy was needed a friend when her Dad passed away? I know where I was. Did you even send a card? Call? And, I'm not even gonna mention the most recent string of unfortunate incidents.
"All I'm saying is, there's a time and a place for everything, and maybe just maybe back then I couldn't be there. It certainly would've seemed strange showing up at the door of my enemies manager, and the girlfriend of another wrestler at that point in time. But, now... it's my time. Anything that woman needs... I'll provide. Anything from a gift to protection. Anything she wants... I'll go out of my way to see to it that she has it. Not because I'm whipped... but, because I can. And, I've seen what not paying the proper amount of attention to a woman can get you. ...you're my prime example.
[small]Sean paused for a moment, running his finger through his hair.[/small]
"And, contrary to what you may or may not know about me... I'd rather make a mistake and lose on a Primetime show six weeks ago, resulting in a loss, than going into my match at Fish Fund XIII blind. I've faced you before... I know what to expect. And, I also know what mistakes not to make.
"But, I don't expect you to believe it. I never even expected you to lay down for me. I'd much rather put you down. And, that's exactly what I plan on doing at Fish Fund."
