Big warm welcomes and hellos to all our new writers! Just wanted to officially, beyond y'all's app threads, to welcome you guys to the group. I'm Skype sketchy, but pop on there now and again, but i'm always available via PM if you have any questions, concerns, angle ideas, whatevs. I love the influence new blood and new creative perspectives bring to the group (see Mikey Unlikely and Kendrix for great examples of brand new to the fold handlers doing their thing and just killin' it)

I'm sure it was all explained and what not, but just to reiterate. You don't have to be in and planning an arc to jump right in and start character development. We have the news board for "dirt sheet" style stuff, we have the propaganda (see: RP) board for more "off camera" character development, we have our "off week" TV show UNCUT (no matches, spill over segments, weird shit that wouldn't "fit" on DEFtv)

We even have a "developmental" brand called BRAZEN (like our own personal vfed full of pet projects, new characters, jobbers, whatever. Run like a vfed, getting relaunched in August by yours truly) and obviously you're all more than welcome to pop a seg in on DEFtv to introduce "yourself."

... SO... lol point being, even though we're mid arc, plowing towards DEFCON I fully encourage you to dive right in with any and all tools available and start tellin your story! Because that's what this is all about, stepping away from real life a little bit and enjoying a little pro wrestling related creative writing and participate in building our little "DEFverse."

You have access to staff and NPC's for all sorts of contract signings, first days at the Plex, welcome promos, whatever you can dream up. Never too early to start planting little storyline seeds, so don't be shy asking around to see if anyone wants to throw in for a fun rando segment.

Welcome to the island of people probably too old to still be doing this... (you're going to have a blast.)​

Here are some to-dos for you guys:

- Backstage logins have been created so you can start filling out your character bios.
- Head over to the micros thread, copy/paste that template, and fill it out for Chris to work on. Be as descriptive as possible, please.
- Read up on some of our past shows this arc. Leave feedback for them also, if you're feeling ambitious.
- Check out the DEFIANCE resource documents. I have to add another to that list later on today.
- If you want to write some teaser/coming soon segments, we can fit those on one of the upcoming shows (UNCUT, DEFtv, DEFCON) where they make the most sense.

If anyone wanted to win brownie points with me (which is honestly a pointless endeavor, I'm not like really staff, I've just been here too long not to concern myself with everything, especially character development) taking advantage of this HIGHLY UNDERUTILIZED SUB-FORUM would go a long way in that respect.

The somewhat out of date match-writing aides already posted in there will give you a rough idea what's entailed. Just a "cheat sheet" for lack of a better word, for writing / utilizing your character in a match setting. Little nuances you'd like match writers to keep in mind. This isn't mandatory by any means, but especially for the new writers it's just another clever way of helping "get your character over" with the rest of the roster.

Character building, world building... key key key stuff when it comes to an angled fed.

(ALSO LIKE LINDZ SAID, FILL OUT YOUR BIOS ON THE WEBPAGE ASAP. It's easier to book and utilize your character the more we (i.e. the "audience") are TOLD about them. And we want to know as much as we possibly can!)
