Due to recent concerns, can y'all respond here for this question:

Should points be awarded to the War Games victors?

Yay or Nay.

I think that if awarding points fits in with the overall direction of the league...you should do it. I think we all know that this league is not JUST RP based. You've got an angle planned, and if awarding points can fit in with that, go ahead.

Me, personally, I don't have a problem with it either way.

Since playoff spots are determined by conference and not the whole league, it won't really affect the angle too heavily that we're planning.

So, if that influences your vote - just change it here.

Points? You mean we're playing for points? CRAP!

Naw, kidding. Sure, award points for Wargames. Whatever floats your goat, buddy.

Even if the NFW isn't purely RP based, it isn't like the winning side came up with the angle they are going to win with. Why do they deserve points for something they didn't RP or come up with the idea for?

But Paul, like Katz said, the playoffs are conference based, so the winning side getting points really would make no difference to the other side? Right?

Besides, the way I always took this league (and the CSWA for that matter) to work is that sometimes the overall direction of the league influences outcomes of matches, not just RP and an angle thought up for that particular match. It could be that the outcome of the match at Wargames was planned to help an angle that is currently going on, not one that was just thought up for War Games...understand my point?

I think you're making too big a deal out of the points thing. Katz, Jamar and Gregg have always been fair to all the members of this league. No reason to think they'll stop doing that now.

We all know that the whole purpose of whatever the WAR GAMES/All Star angle is is to SCREW MERRITT!

Shhhh...the whole plan to kick out Flair and put him in the South was a secret!

Now, are we talking about the character of Merritt or the handler Merritt? Cause your statement could be true on both counts or one count. ;)

Gregg's character had talked about there being some sort of trade or move on the boards.

I would have no problem if all of the North or all of the South in the War Games were to recieve the points if they win the match, except if there is that trade that Gregg hinted at and it involves a war games member, it is sort of unfair if one team wins the War Games and a wrestler from that team is traded to the other side with the additional points because that throws off the standings we had even more coming into of the Allstar Break.

The NFW North race has been really heated and ten points are going to mean an awful lot.

If someone from the North is heading South or someone from the South is heading north and is in the War Games match, why should someone get extra 10 or 15 points in a division that they didn't earn the points in and in a match that was pre-booked?

For instance, if Marx was traded to the South after the North won War Games, if the North was rewarded 10 points, that would knock Rabeque out of the leader slot and Steel Viper or Cameron Cruise out of a playoffs spot complete completely.... leaving the people not in the Playoffs like McMillan, Poe, and Pariah in even more of a bind than they would face even with just the trade. How is that fair to the NFW South? Sure, it is fair to the people being traded, but the rest... not so much.

If there were no trades coming, I'd be fine with it because if there was no movement, everyone would be in the same position where they were before and it wouldn't really effect the NFW North or NFW South all that much.
