Out of question, am I alone in DEF in having loved the GTA3 era games but hated the GTA4 era? I've got high hopes for GTAV, but I think GTA4 may have been my biggest disappointment in videogame history.

Think of it this way.

GTA3 is super boring in retrospect. But they used that framework to make GTA: Vice City which was super awesome, and then GTA: San Andreas, which was mindblowing.

GTA4 is super boring in retrospect(And for most, when they played it), but Ballad of Gay Tony was rockin'. Lost and the Damned was... okay.

GTA5 is looking to be this generation's San Andreas.

Also, I am so torn. I really, really, really want GTA5, but at the same time,

I think I'm gonna get GTA5 first, but god damn, Saint's Row 4 also looks super rockin'.

While I was paying it GTA 4 was fantastic, but there wasn't much to keep me coming back once the story was done with. And I certainly wasn't going to go bowling with Roman every 5 minutes.

San Andreas had me coming back time and time again purely so that I could ride a BMX off of a goddamned mountain.

if I can do that in HD in V I think it'll be the greatest game ever.

Everything that I have read about GTAV looks like it will be the most robust version of the series ever. The one thing I hope they include is the skip mechanic from Red Dead Redemption, where if you fail a mission a number of times it will allow you to skip the task at the cost of not getting any achievements attached to that bit. Also because I've only ever finished GTA3, because VC, SA, and GTA4 have all had those points where I couldn't get through it and just ended up quitting.
