TEAM Fantasy Draft '07 OFFICIAL INFO AND SIGN-IN THREAD
Have you ever wanted to assemble your own fed of all the all-star characters you wanted but never had the chance? Well, I have the opportunity for you. TEAM is officially announcing its 2007 Fantasy Draft, where you assemble your dream roster in draft mode. You can select any character in the history of eW as long as that character hasn't been taken by another drafter.
How do you sign-up?
Sign up in this thread by giving your name, your fed's name and your fed's commissioner. Example:
Name: Joe Blow
Fed: Average Joe's Wrestling (AJW)
Commissioner: Mr. Smith
Right now, eight people are signed up from the initial thread. Those people are guaranteed a spot, and all they need to do is put their info in this thread. Here's the list:
Tom Siegel
Lindsay Branca
Shane Gerlach
Dan West
Jarret Aubry
Jon Katz
Adam Shinder
Ryan Aston
The following signed up in this thread:
Jason Swift
Shane Carnes
And the following signed up in the other thread after this was posted.
Andrew Medina
One spot left! Deadline's Monday at 11:59:59 PM!
How will the order work?
The first round will be randomly selected. The order from the first round will be inverted, so that the last pick in the first round picks first in the second, and so on and so forth. The third round will be randomly selected and the order from that round will be inverted for the fourth, etc. etc.
How many rounds?
Sixteen rounds, unless things start moving too slowly or they start moving pretty quickly. Two will be set aside for tag team rounds where you can pick two wrestlers with one pick.
Any two wrestlers?
No, they have to have tagged together at least once. These rounds will not be early in the draft, although their designation so far will be decided at a later date.
Will there be any parameters on time?
Yes, you will have 24 hours to get your pick in once you're up. If not, your pick will be skipped, and you can make it up at any time after.
What, no penalty?
No, no penalty other than the fact that you probably won't get the guy you want if you're late on a pick. There won't be any strike system like in the past, but if I see someone missing picks for several rounds, then I'll make the call on whether they'll be allowed to continue.
What happens if someone does drop out of the draft?
Then their picks will be skipped and their draft will be dispersed in a special supplemental draft after all rounds are over with new random picks.
What happens after the draft's over?
There will be a free agency period for you to fill out your rosters, trades will be allowed and then after that, there will be an optional booking competition, where you will be able to book from your first show to your first PPV.
Do you have to participate in the booking competition to "win" the draft?
No. The draft and the booking competition are separate entities. The draft "winner" will be decided after the free agency/trading period is over, and the booking competition winner will be decided at a date to be set after the dust settles from the draft.
Who decides the winners?
I do. I alone do, which is why I won't be participating in the draft as anyone but an administrator.
Can you make trades during the draft?
No. You may not make official trades during the draft because I'd like to keep everything in order. If you'd like to make trades in principle and draft guys for the express purpose of trading them, that's fine by me. Just make sure you keep track of that so you can trade once the proceedings begin.
Any other questions may be posed in reply here. Have at it
