How about that, The E didn't fuck it up for once.
Yes indeed. Good on them. Still should have been Daniel Bryan in the main event, but whatever, it worked out nicely.
I'm British, I like to complain, so that's what I'm gonna do, but I'm not gonna complain about the show of shows itself, because I don't have a bad word to say about that. I wasn't looking forward to it as much as previous years, but there wasn't a bad match, wasn't a bad result, and the best possible ending happened.
What I will complain about is the Andre the Giant memorial Battle Royal.
Let's face it, last year it could have proved to be a launching pad for the winner, but with the very obvious demotion of Cesaro over the last 12 months I don't think anyone expected this years winner to get the sort of catapult we might have expected last years winner to receive.
That fact aside, why the shit does the Big Show need to go over in that match? Mizdow has gotten himself over in the biggest way possible with the stupidest gimmick imaginable. That's on him. He's worked hard in that role to turn something that was just filler into a highlight of the weekly TV shows. The match was used as a chance for Mizdow to finally stand up to Miz and dissolve their partnership, but any momentum Mizdow had eliminating Miz was suddenly shut down when Big Show eliminated him.
And why? So that a guy that's been around in WCW and WWE for 20+ years now can look strong going forwards?
I don't get it.
The Big Show is big. We get it. We've got it for the last 20 years. He doesn't need to easily eliminate all 3 members of The New Day in one fell swoop to prove that.
Seth Rollins getting the title is great and all, and I'm so totally stoked for WWE going forwards, but while WWE is still so intent on putting the old guard over the future stars like Ryback, Mizdow, Miz, Rowan, Cesaro etc. on such a regular basis there's this little voice in the back of my head that keeps telling me we're going to be getting more and more of the same for a little while longer.
Also how underwhelming was Hideo Itami? He had a chance to shine and he got shit on, once again, by Big Show.
And my panties are wet at the possibility of Steph vs. Rousey.
