Basically Round Three took so long that the segments were scrapped (mostly, although some sent in strats were used). Round Four was again supposed to include them but apparently things got shifted over the wires.

Sucks for those that actually followed directions from Day One!

Since, unless I magically get six matches in my inbox by the time I get home (or overwhelming love for a full card that will require work) I'm going to be posting an eight line results card, followed by a four line "Here's the next round matches" followup, segments are not really fitting in.

I'm going to say right here that segments should have been held off on until the final 4 and anyone who asks for them for the round of 8 is evil.

And not my type of evil.

However, there are some interesting matchups for the Bracket Finals.

Looks like I went 7/8 on my predictions, not too shabby.

Best of luck to everyone in the bracket finals!

Aaron - I'll happily be Fake Razor if necessary in the next round.

Well,

I'd like to thank and congratulate Sean for a really inspiring roleplay battle, that I hoped everyone had as much fun reading, as I did have writing. I feel our collective work for this round will stand as some my favorite work between myself and another handler.

I think now that I have exited the tournament, I can talk a little more freely about my inspirations/literary references. Obviously the people who know me, or know my more serious work won't be entirely shocked. But I chose to work from Blood Meridian/Hunger/Only Revolutions, as well as a hilarious article from VICE about how to date rich girls, which if you haven't read will read as a typecast and secondarily is completely hilarious. As for the above books, read them. They did a lot of the same things I did, but way better(as I don't confuse myself for Hamsum/McCarthy/Faulkner/Melville).

And if you want to continue following the antics of "Street Dolphin" Pete Whealdon and his band of not so merry misfits, I am still handling in DEFIANCE(I'm coming home Justin), and The World's Longest Tag Team will be in the EPW King of Cage.

Thanks to all of my previous opponents for forcing me to actually try, and I can't say this enough for Sean, I got to cross something off of the e-w bucket list this last round. I'd like to thank him for providing an excellent foil for Whealdon, and I'd love to read the fully written match someday.

At any rate Ultratitle, I won't be back unless we need a Fake-Diesel. So Congrats to whomever wins this thing.

Big Congrats to Tsiegel as well. Was fun going the rounds. I can finally get back to trying to get ewzine off the ground and ndub moving forward. :) Overall the tournament itself was at least up to the Third Round where things started getting really delayed and no-showing galore, not to mention changes in the rules and such.
Fact is the tournament started in reverse (as has been discussed) lol. First round should have been the one-liners, second round same, third bit of the action like 3 lines total, fourth being where the actual full on summaries would start, then the fifth round same, semi-finals play by play I'd imagine, as well as the finals.

Y'all are too magnanimous.

F*ck Billy and f*ck his slacking off until the very last day so I had to stack before my camping trip. I hope he gets gonorrhea from a toilet seat and no-shows against Orphan. ;-)

Don't feel too bad, I promised the judges a percentage of my winning purse if they get me through the finals.

Literally I sold Brunk on putting his kids through college with Merritt's prize money. True, the money would probably only pay for 3 credits at like, Yao Ming Community College, but...it's still college.

Except I voted for Anarky. You're lucky, Ferraro.

Well then...I guess somebody else's kid is going to get those three credits! If only there were somebody else on these forums who has impregnated a female... Damn!

I expected round four to be my first big test of the tournament. I also expected it to be against Gideon or Sean Stevens, but these things have a funny way of working out in ways one doesn't expect. All the props in the world to Aaron for stepping his game way the **** up, in the middle of the tournament no less, which is hard as Hell to do.

It's been at least six years since anyone's actually looked forward to facing me in an RP battle. I'm beyond flattered, and was glad we had a good back and forth scrap. You're the only person in the tournament who could have fought me the way you did, and I had butterflies tapdancing in my stomach when I opened the results thread.

With your permission, Aaron, I'll write that match someday; I plan one day on doing a compilation of Orphan stuff, and this'd be a fun match to have on there.

Hell of a round for everyone, and now we're down to eight.

Oh, what's that, I've got NFW's Champion next round, no RP limit?

No RP limit is terrifying as all Hell, I'm not going to lie.

I thought it was 4 RPs and no seg??

For the record (and I told Spike this), every round after the opening round has been tough for me, and that's only because that initial round was a gimme round. I had fun RPing this round, and even though he's a tad busy...invited him to take a stroll through EPW and the rest of FWC, should he have some time.

And now the Mega Powers explode....again.

I think my head is going to rupture, lol.

Awesome job fellas.

LEt's hope that part is clarified before the round starts. Lol.

Agreed man. I've had a blast each round. Pretty sure a good 99% of those competing or watching didn't expect me to get past the second round. After all I'm just some guy that's been running in Angle fed's for the past decade and not touched actual roleplaying for well over that decade. :)

JustinP by the way is the only one to even have me gone this far in the predictions I do believe, lol.

For whatever its worth -I'm sorry for no-showing. Nlame it on a combination of badly overdue results in Defiance and feeling cruddy after the food poisoning episode.

And yes, Justin and I would be glad to make a rematch happen in Defiance.
