Castor V. Strife vs. Sammy Brown: We need not worry about a Free Sammy Brown movement going down.
Leyenda de Ocho vs. Orphan: I liked the concept that Ocho was trying to pull off -- he's really one of the more underrated characters in the tourney. Orphan's material was long, and while he lost me a bit on his first RP, his second one really drew me in and kept me interested -- and it was the perfect response to Ocho's work. That second RP put Orphan over the top in my eyes.
The Sergeant vs. Derrick Allen: Sergeant's RPs were really enjoyable and came off quite well considering his first two went up before Allen responded. And while Allen gave it a good effort, I think he came up a bit short on what he wanted to pull off. Sergeant is my pick.
Classy Mike C vs. Spooky Doom: I've been in federations where the fourth wall is broken, and in other feds, it happens once in a while, but you have to be careful doing it too much. With that said, I think each handler had a good idea in mind, but I think Spooky executed it better and I give him the edge.
Eddie Whisky vs. Khristian Keller: I liked Eddie's work -- he was to the point and got his message across nicely. Keller had solid work but not enough to get him past Eddie in my eyes.
Larry Tact vs. Chris Hopper: This was a close battle and I saw good material from both guys. I think Tact had a little more meat to what he wrote, though, whereas Hopper seemed to be fishing for material at a couple of points. Tact is my pick.
Jason Murray vs. Pete Wheadon: I understand what Murray was trying to pull off and I can respect that Wheadon would respond to it -- but the direction just didn't do it for me. While I won't say I was disappointed in the work, I don't think either handle had work that was as good as they had in the first round. I give the edge to Murray because I think his material was at least a bit more focused.
Doc Silver vs. Anarky: I do not envy the judges here. This RP battle was a tremendous one between two guys who knew each other well and each instantly knew how his character would play off the other. I think Doc won round one but Anarky won round two (that is, Doc's first RP was better, Anarky's second RP was better). I would not be surprised to see either character win, given that both Mike and Josh brought their A games. With all that said... I'm going against the odds and I'm picking Anarky as he went first in the battle and had a really good showing on the second RP.
