Re. Beefs: My main beef is that my RPs don't seem to mean anything because all the big angles are monopolized by a small percentage of the roster, most of whom don't even wrestle in the UltraTitle chase. There's no focus on the belt anymore. I personally came to NFW because I wanted to expand my horizons and succeed on a bigger scale, but instead I'm being punked out by non-wrestlers, screwed out of matches by non-wrestlers, and buried so much that I don't actually register as a contender anymore.

eyoung: I didn't RP much, nor did I throw up an on-card segment. That's simply because I didn't see a point. Why should I waste my time writing out a segment that's not going to mean anything? I could send in an angle giving Manson an enema with a porcupine and a cheese grater and I'd still get nowhere, because I'm not one of the golden boys who are basically guaranteed passes to the title finals. Why should I even try when it won't mean anything?

For the record, I'll be doing something on-card to try and sway the attention my way on Week 13. Not that it'll work. I'll just go back to being the background noise I've been since I got here.

Oh, and re. HYPER-ONE: The difference there is that I'm not using MY inactive characters as non-wrestlers out to bury real wrestlers and detract from the chase for a legit world title. They're actually competitors, not dead weight.

1. If you don't rp or do much in the way of storyline work you won't succeed. Using your logic you are your own problem.

2. There is more to being in ewrestling than going for titles. I came back AFTER Katz told me there was no chance in hell I was going to be in contention for the Ultratitle.

3. AFTER having been told that there would be no UT for me I have come here and busted my ass for 4 (game) weeks.

So before you continue to offend half the people on the roster (and forgive me Jon and Jamar for spouting off )

Just play the game.

Thanks
Al

I tried to play the game and got buried. Frankly, I don't care if I'm offending people. I for one feel that NFW's no longer a fun experience for me and I'm not about to sit quietly by about it.

Then don't be such a canuck about it and talk to the owners in private. It's the mature thing to do.

Think about what you're saying.. You're not having fun. It's about you and them, not you and all of us.

Hopefully y'all work things out. Best of luck.

Al, I've talked to Katz about it repeatedly and I'm still dissatisfied. Fortunately, I'll be doing something about it in very short order.

Even though you didn't answer, I take it from your response that Eddy is one of the wrestlers you think is getting unfairly over. I hate you feel that way. I haven't seen much of your stuff to pass judgement on whether it's not getting a fair break.

Don't get me wrong, eyoung. I don't have anything against Eddy Love's antics or you as his handler - I think your stuff is great. I just don't care for how the fed feels completely predetermined/godbooked lately.

I'd like to thank everyone for their thoughts, opinions, beefs, defenses, outrages, etc.

First point I'd like to make is that me and Bolich are completely cool. I can't say I agree with everything he's said, but we debate those things privately and civilly and that's that.

I understand Jeff's frustrations as well. fwrestling.com, and especially NFW has a high rate of *P graduates. Just remember for him its like being an Eskimo at Passover.

Rather than delve deeper into the 'godbooked' debate I think its safe to say that everyone knows everything isn't booked by RP 100% in NFW, but at the same time I've read every single RP, every week.

That isn't a lie. Everytime someone tells me they've RP'd I make a note to read it that day.

I also think Steve hammered the nail on the head when he said that what one individual puts into NFW = what one will get out of it. I don't mean that if you write matches, RP 6 times, write 10 page segments or whole conference shows you win no matter what.

Case in point: Southern's lack of wins lately.

But remember, without that work being done...NFW would be dead right now. I pretty much have the luxury of having a great team of writers that for the past 6 'weeks' have put out some extraordiary at times, definitely interesting and certainly talked about RP and cardwriting.

This thread shouldn't be about Jeff defending his RP amount, or Aidan and Ed defending all the work they've done to become integral cogs in the machine. Everyone that's answered this thread is integral to the equation...whether they were joking, or being serious in their posts. Look at the names under here and you'll see NFW has lucked out.

Personally, I make it a rule never to talk about my own characters in a feedback thread.

That is, unless someone poses a question or comment that I think should be answered.

With that being said, I think stances are known and before anything is said that someone may regret...I'd like to simply ask that the remaining feedback be geared towards the writing on the card, the characters of NFW.

If you felt something should've been written better that wasn't discussed, we won't bite.

...too hard.

I'll start next with things that haven't been discussed, yet.

FEEDBACK'S AWESOME!

FEEDBACK'S WEIRD!

FEEDBACK'S AWESOME!

FEEDBACK'S WEIRD!

Allrighty, let's start at the beginning of the show.

HIGHWAYMAN #2: Boy, I messed that one up. I kinda got inspired when I received the angle, but the match RP made me feel that I should save a little fuel for a real match. So I actually started writing this during the RP session.

I like the angle cause it worked with what happened later with Eddy Love getting attacked. The past few weeks Love has gotten away with murder...and its good to see some people striking back with as much rule-twisting as Ed.

I think for this to work in the long run, Highwayman #2 needs to start RPing himself.

You know who you are. Get a new ID, dammit.

NOT TALKED ABOUT FEUD OF THE NIGHT:

Where in the world is the love for Cameron Cruise and Steel Viper? My god, the man attacked his wife! I'd also like to thank you two for sticking with this.

Joe and Tom have struggled through the season OORP trying to find their niches in the South and while Tom may hate me for the stipulation switch on him...and just in general (kidding!)...I don't see how this can't end up at Wrestlebowl with one hell of a bloodbath payoff

I'm really digging the possiblities involving these two. Right now, you've Viper at #6 and Cruise at #7 with Love, Campbell and Deacon just needing them to cancel each other out.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

Ever since that cage blew up, Shane Southern hasn't won a match. Man.

RE: SHIZAKI/SOUTHERN - Thanks for the comments on the match. There were two reasons I decided to write the match. A) It made sense with my SDS plans ::killify Katz!:: and B) The RP was really intriguing to read.

Since being attacked, Josh has taken Shizaki more into a 'martyr' role. Its a character that doesn't live by the shows as much as he does in the RP sessions and what comes out of those. At first, I was a little worried about the change cause Shizaki was quite ruthless in the first half of the season...

But with Jason doing a bang-up job on Southern's emotions being pulled in all different directions, I like the way Josh fit Shizaki into that story with the character shift he's doing.

I actually read the RP 6 times over trying to figure out who should win, but in the end - I felt neither had more advantages or disadvantages. It was weird to read it...two very different philosophies trying to reach the same means almost.

That's why I went with the draw. I also tried to give Shane a new move, we'll see if that's appreciated or used anywhere else. I also like writing Shizaki's methodical style. The match was only around 6-7 pages...as that's the max I'll go during the reg. season. If it were the playoffs, it might've been written out 18 and my hair getting pulled out cause no draws are allowed.

Or JN wouldn't be in Tejas and GG around to read and vote. ;)

RE: SEVEN DEADLY SINS - I don't know what I did to the Oblivion Express this card, poor Cummins. When JN made the original challenge all he knew was that he wanted to pull the switch with the DRS. When I got the outline and NFL Rules, I loved it. Unfortunately, my writing of these characters compared to Jamar writing them made the segment suffer.

However, I stand by my call to give Blaine that legdrop in his arsenal.

I won't comment too much further on my opinions on this as it may cause a little strife. If anyone has comments about it though, I'd be interested in hearing if I achieved in giving them vulnerablity. I tried to start putting some chinks in the armor this week.

RE: SHAWN MATTHEWS/AARON DOUGLAS

Very, very interesting. I'm starting to fear for Mr. Douglas.

RE: EDDY LOVE and JOEY MELTON

Man. I didn't see that coming. I thought the Playboys were gonna get reformed through their alliance and last week was a setback. Honestly, if Love hadn't gotten attacked...his heel rating would've been way too high after what he did to Joey on the 'Show'.

Although, I dug the moment when Joey had control. His honesty captivates me for the most part in any of his segments. Unless he's talking about erections. That has to stop.

RE: NFW EAST

Two things:

1) The NFW East will return next season even if I have to kidnap McNichols.

2) Manson has the title belt and he's appearing at the NFW show next week...you gotta wonder what Vegas is betting on what he'll do first to the belt. ;)

RE: SHAWN DOUGLAS

I wish he wrote more for the shows.

RE: GENOVESE/VIVIAN/WILD CHILD

Even if it was prose, I liked it. :p The one thing NFW doesn't have is roleplayed female heels. Lindsay Troy is definitely face to me at this point, so its good to see something going against that grain. I don't know if that's the intention here, but its defintely something different than our norm...I dug it.

Wow...ok, that's about it for me. Mostly anything else I've commented on via IM to everyone when they submitted and asked how it looked. Anyway, happy trails.

I posted a long reply then got it erased.

To quote Kenny's dad at the end of the South Park Thanksgiving special: "Goddammit"

Anyway, the gist is:

I haven't gotten through an entire NFW East segment yet, but I applaud the creativity and writing of it. Different styles appeal to different people. It doesn't click with me in a pro wrestling format, but it's all good in the 'hood.

The prose style of my match was a change of pace. It was intriguing to me in that sense to see my character in a different way, but prose will never be my thing.

The non-player character thing is a very old issue that Katz and I have talked to death in private. He knows how I feel, but I also know and trust he and Jamar enough to roll with the flow and enjoy the story that unfolds from it.

I can also say that despite any differences in opinion I may have I've told Katz privately and will say publically that I'll likely be back for Season two. In fact, I'd call it 99% a done deal.

I can relate to both sides of the argument though.

It's not always about what you put into it. Sometimes you can't find the motivation to put anything into it when you feel like what you put in doesn't matter.

It just becomes a personal decision whether or not you stick it out and push on anyway or bow out. I've personally chosen to roll with the flow and just try to have some fun. If it comes to where I'm not having fun anymore, then I'll look elsewhere as anyone should. But that point isn't anywhere near me right now.

But yeah, I understand.

It's no fun feeling left out.

...and we call this our hobby???

I sometimes really do think I ought to get paid for this, lol. In all honesty, despite my being in last an' all, I'd just like to say that I'm actually really enjoying everything for the most part that's going on in FW. All that goes for what's going on in EPW, to NFW, to CSWA to the GWE.

Nothing's THAT bad with me.

*cough*KATZ*Cough.* (jk)

I've just had a wild time, really.
