fWo House Show Report 8-2

Just got back from the arena after seeing the "big" fWo show in Pittsburgh. I can honestly tell you that I have never seen such a collection of green workers in my life. A lot of the people around me were completely pissed. Since we were paying full fWo house show ticket prices and were given the show we were given, you can forget about people paying again. This was an insult to the fans who have paid attention to the fWo all these years.

Sam Smooth came out for a promo and was pretty much booed out of the building. He gave some shit about this being the new fWo, and that the fWo would be crowning new champions next week. I for one would pay big money to see Ross and Kelly return and beat the living shit out of this jobber to the stars. His speech came off like we were a bunch of marks.

(1) Jordan Cable d. Kinkaid. Kinkaid was announced to be Mexcian but was paler than me. Kinkaid missed all kinds of spots and Cable basically had to save the match on several occasions. I guess Cable is the better wrestler out of the two but had to keep posing for the crowd which looked forced and silly. Cable won when he used his feet on the ropes to make the pin following a sloppy as hell looking sidewalk slam. The referee was looking right at the feet on the ropes but called the pin anyway. The crowd groaned hard.

(2) Renshaw d. Calm (?) They announced Calm as being the "real Alaskan Juggernaut" which got lots of chants of "KVC" from the crowd. You have to figure that the hackings on the fWo site are by some Creed fan. Anyway, Calm looked roided out of his mind, but still smaller than Creed and with a stupid baby face. This was pretty dull with long stretches of rest holds and nothing more. The end never really came as Renshaw put Calm into the turnbuckles, then Renshaw seemed to go down holding his ankle and the referee called the match as a pinfall victory for Renshaw. WTF? People helped Renshaw to the back.

(3) Captain Red d. Oktober in a squash. Nothing really to say here other than Oktober was given no offense.

(4) Sam Smooth d. Spyder. I was a big fan on Spyder in the indies, which made it really frustrating that they put Smooth over him. The fans wanted to get behind Spyder, but he was given no real offense and as soon as he started to get the crowd behind him Smooth would come in and squash him for several minutes. Very disapointing. End came when Spyder basically lay down for Smooth who was blown up and sucking wind bad. Smooth is out of shape and UGLY in the ring. Spyder needs to go back to EMIL or Mexico leagues.

Some guy came out to urge people to buy fWo stuff. Yeah, good luck there.

(5) ??? d. Paladin & Reborn. I went to the bathroom and missed most of this match. Reborn turned on Paladin or something. The team that won looked like a bunch of ugly kids from backyard wrestling feds.

Old man Silver Fox came to the ring for an announcement. Most of the crowd had left by this point. He announced that the fWo had signed Borst! Huge news if it is true, but I worry it is a midget in a Borst outfit after the "action" we saw tonight.

(6) Slider d. Cali & Marmot in a triple threat match to determine a contender to the Cruiserweight title. Who is the other contender? Nobody knows. This was supposed to be a big high flyer match, but it turned out to be one huge sloppy spot-fest. Ugly, and I guess Cali looked like the most talented. By and large, this was a mess and nowhere near the quality of ROH matches I've seen lately. Slider looks like someone who belongs on the indy circuit doing trash clean up.

Aside from a couple people, nobody knew who any of these people are. With the rumors on the internet that the fWo roster walked to unionize, and the other rumors that they were basically forced out because of some money-hungry board, the one thing for certain is that this is the last show I'm going to.
