The Unified Global Wrestling Coalition is pleased to announce the 2015 WrestleStock Open Invitational.
WrestleStock is an annual festival promoted by UGWC for the purpose of celebrating the wrestling community. This year the four day festival will be held in Germany the week of July 6th, 2015. Traditionally, each day of the festival has a different theme, with a variety of matches and activities being held throughout the grounds, with the World Heavyweight Championship being defended on the final day. For the second consecutive year, the final day of the festival will also feature the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
While WrestleStock has traditionally focused on history and legacies, this year UGWC invites all active wrestlers and promotions to join with the UGWC Entertainment Professionals to celebrate our vocation. There are two ways to participate.
First, UGWC invites any active wrestler to participate in a featured match at the festival against a member of another promotion, or possibly a member of the UGWC roster itself.
Additionally, UGWC invites other promotions to hold a sanctioned match from their promotion at the festival as well.
These spotlighted matches will take place during each of the first three days of the festival. At the end of the each day, the most outstanding performer of the day will be designated the MVP of the day, and on the final day of the festival the three MVPs will compete in a match with the winner being recognized as the 2015 WrestleStock Cup Winner.
UGWC is excited to extend this invitation to all members of the wrestling community.
American Outlaw Wrestling has recently re-opened with a unique twist to efedding. The majority of us, in this hobby, have been involved in RP or angle feds. AOW is a turn-based fed. Turn-based is a unique style of fed. You can post RP’s to create a storyline, further a storyline, develop your character, etc. For the matches, turn-based means that the competitors booked for matches take “turns” writing their own entrances and then take their “turns” writing out their match in segments. The entrances are written by those involved, and the entrance order dictates the order in which each competitor posts a match segment.
The match continues until a competitor thinks they have either done enough damage or are at a point in which they feel their writing has been that much better than their opponent(s) and feel they are at a point in which they can win. At that point, said competitor asks for a “deputy decision”. This is, almost in effect, like an RP deadline where the match is judged. The deputy (which in other feds would be a referee) then decides the outcome of the decision. Here, a few options could happen. The deputy could agree with the handler that he/she has done enough to win the match, that the match should continue, or that another handler has won the match. Naturally, if an ending is decided by the deputy, the match is finished at this point. The other option is a continuation of the match, which would result in the next competitor taking a turn to write a segment until a sufficient ending of the match occurs.
If this all seems a bit much, no need to worry. Our entire roster, to date, has transitioned from RP feds and adjusted rather quickly. Even those who had not previously had any match writing experience have not had a major learning curve. If you like a challenge and want to help a resurgent company, come give us a shot.

It’s pretty simple to add your news item to be included as an “Exclusive Headline.” But first, what are the “guidelines” for posting news:
1) All news posted here should be in-character. It can be from the point-of-view of a league owner, wrestler, commentator/columnist, etc. — whatever you want to tell to further your story.
2) Approach news here like it’s being posted on a major wrestling website. Avoid profanity where possible. If you need to include it as part of a quote, etc., then consider censoring it for emphasis.
3) If you’re looking to do a column or segment, consider using the “Feature” option, rather than news.
Posting is simple.
a) Make sure you’re logged in at FW Central. It’s not required, but will allow you to edit your news item later if you need to.
b) On the navigation bar at the top of the page, choose News –> Add Your News.
c) Fill in the fields on the form. If you don’t have an image to include, simply leave that blank and a default image will be provided. Once you hit Submit, your item should appear within a couple of minutes.
So how do I get my news in the big slider at the top?
Good question. That’s reserved for FW Central partner leagues — currently those that participate on the FW Central forums. More info coming on how to affiliate in the near future.

If you’re new to FWrestling.com, then you might be thinking, “20 years… what the…?” If you’re a long-timer, then you might be thinking, “Didn’t they just have that 15 year banner a couple of years ago?”
Either way, you’re right.
Twenty years is a long time. What became FantasyWrestling.com in 1998 and then FWrestling.com, first started way back in mid-1994 as “FW Central,” thus the ongoing name of our forums. (So yes, we’re actually closer to 21 years than 20!) Back in the pre-WWW days, the Prodigy online community had a robust fantasy wrestling community that had been running alongside the “regular” wrestling community. If you know names today like Gabe Sapolsky or Dave Lagana, among others — those were our peers on the ‘real’ side, while we were on the ‘other’ side. (For a great view into those days and beyond, see Gregg Gethard’s column published on Salon and elsewhere.)
As ‘web pages’ became something, we jumped on the bandwagon. First there had been a newsletter by mail, and now it became a website covering news from all the leagues on the ‘circuit.’ News, rumors, features — all of it intended to add new aspects to the growing game. (You can see the 1997 version of the original site here). As Prodigy died its slow death, we stepped away to help create a certain “real” wrestling website or two (e.g. 1wrestling.com and ecwwrestling.com) and then opened what is today FWrestling.com in 1998, first focused on the CSWA and then expanded to allow Prodigy leagues to move over and then new leagues to be created.
For those of us that started in the 90s, we remember there were older guys in the hobby. For example, one ran a league almost exclusively so his two teenage sons would have a chance to play and he could monitor what was going on and interact with them. Odd to think that we’re now the age of “the older guys” and still around. Those of us who grew up loving to hate Ric Flair are joined by those who grew up loving to love Stone Cold and now those who have grown up loving to love (and then hate) John Cena. Such is the cycle of [wrestling] life, huh?
But I digress. FWrestling.com has always been the key place to enjoy the hobby itself. There have been plenty of other news and community sites along the way, a lot of them mired in drama and snarky discussion. The simple fact is that while we have a lovely community here, we haven’t done a great job in a few years of giving you a chance to connect, and in bringing in new fans to be a part of our fun, underground hobby. So it’s time to jump back in and see what another 20 years of hype, story and excitement has to offer.
So that said, welcome to the new FWrestling.com. For those of you who have been around, you’ll see some old features brou
ght back in a new way and an easier way to use. We’re open to hearing what you want to see and what would make things more fun. The goal here is to allow you to continue to tell and hype your stories in a broader way, allowing a large community (and beyond) to get a glimpse into how you play the game, and to hopefully find a way to join in and continue telling the story.
Because, as we all know, our stories are even better than the real thing.
